How Fast Is Indian Flat Pitches

Why can’t India make fast pitches like Australia or swing pitches like England?

It’s not so easy. soil is different everywhere. weather ,humidity, moisture is different. All these things matter in pitch making and cricket.Australian and South African soil is hard so make for good bouncy pitches. Same is not the case with either India or even england. But in case of England weather and moisture do the tricks. Even in India Mumbai pitch behaves similarly sometimes but that’s rarer than in england.

Why do Indian fast bowlers complain about the flat Indian pitches when fast bowlers like Malcolm Marshall and Richard Hadlee picked up tons of wickets during their tours to India?

Indian Pitches are Flat and to be honest Very flat. especially after 1980. you compare batting average of Indian batsman in Ranji trophy . you will Notice cricketers like Tendulkar, Dravid, Gangooly, Laxman, kohli, and many cricketers have great better average then the cricketers who played local cricket in 1960–1980why Hadlee and Marshal did well in India? the reason a good captain knows how to use his fast blowers well in very stamina preserving manner.another reason our own Indian batsman who were and are weak to play well fast bowling that made them ( Marshal- Hadlee) look better fast bowlers.the biggest problem of Indian players is WEAKNESS TO PLAY OR UNABLE-TO PLAY BACK FOOT against fast bowling. you see steve smith of Australia he plays like champion far better than anyone in last 40–50 years . but no Indian coach get inspiration all blindly go forward and try to push bowl to cover and soon get out in slip or behind wicket . therefore they are king on Indian dead soil !can you believe Ravindra Jadeja was able to score three triple hundred in Ranji trophy and the same guy has big problem to face fast red ball. you can see Dhavan he is being sent as an opening batsman and that guy cannot face single over comfortably. if you see, His most of runs comes from slip to point sections and if wicket is good then he plays cover drive on well length ball.BCCI administrator must force ever association to prepare green top wicket. create a rule that wicket must have 4–10 mm grass on the pitch, bring grass ability to stay green at least next three days. also bring rule to give + - point system it association allow fast bowlers to bowl 50% of total overs balled by the team. this way it will encourage fast playing conditionin england most of tour since 1932 we always failed , we cannot complaine for their failure until 1990 because before 1990 hardly those past Indian cricketers had any good financial support or good practice or mentors.since 1990 and especially after IPL started. Indian cricketers become so wealthy that they have all resources of the world to improve their game for any conditions BUT STILL THESE OVER PAMPERED CRICKETERS ARE FAILING LIKE PUPPY AND CRY BABY.

Why do the Australian pitches get flat when the Indian cricket team tours?

I am not sure if this is the true answer. But as a genuine cricket fan, I sincerely hope that this is not the case.I suspect that with the financial clout and power the Indian board has, it could be influencing the playing conditions, most definitely the nature of the pitch, in order to make it easy for India to compete (forget winning) oversees. The more India competes, the more money everyone makes, including the Australian board. The same happened in the recent England tour, if I am not wrong. Regardless, the Indian bowlers are so poor, that spinners like Moen Ali and Nathan Lyon have outplayed them many times over even on those suspiciously slow, low pitches outside the subcontinent :-)

Karachi the flattest pitch in the world...?

Some of the more interesting matches are the lower scoring ones.

Fans want to see a spectacle, not boundaries getting constantly hammered.

However, the Asian block seem to prefer watching a run glut. Their fans obviously feel it is exciting, watching the ball flying over the boundary with monotonous regularity.

Here are a few ideas of mine to spice up the game:

Bigger boundaries. The batsmen will have to work for their runs, and it will encourage the spinners to be more attacking.

Abolish fielding restrictions. Captains will then have to choose between having all their men on the boundary, and letting the batters push easy singles, or setting fields that both defend, and look to take wickets.

Uncovered pitches. Let the elements have their say. Then we'll see how good Tendulkar, Ponting, Lara et al are on a 'sticky dog'

Ban heavy bats.

Make groundsmen prepare pitches with a bit of life in them.

Are Pakistani pitches fast bowler friendly? Compare with Indian, English & Australian pitches, please give some examples.

Talking about the pitches in subcontinent region i.e India, Pakistan, SriLanka etc. are the slow pitches as compared to the English and Australian pitches. In subcontinent regions pitches are more batsman friendly and are suitable for spinners. On the other hand the English pitches have Bounce and the conditions favour the fast bowlers.First few overs of the game have something for the fast bowlers in subcontinent pitches. We can go back in the flash back and see many instances like Irfan Pathan taking Hat trick during the first 2 overs of game. Now days curators are doing a wonderful job, creating the pitches similar to English and Australian so that batsman have no difficulty when they play in that conditions.

Is MS Dhoni to blame for all of India's failures in the last few years or is he just a scapegoat?

I'm not going to provide stats to say that Dhoni is a great batsmen or an awesome captain but do you think it is unfair that he gets blamed for everything?

A short while ago an Indian user said, "Even Bangladesh beat Dhoni". No, Bangladesh beat India.

Does blaming Dhoni for everything allow certain Indian fans to overlook all the other weaknesses in their team? They make the Indian team sound unbeatable, it's only Dhoni who is holding them back.
