How Get Promoted From Freshman To Sophomore

Question about college year names. (Sophomore, freshman, junior, senior.)?

Your college title depends on the number of credits you have. If you are on the semester system it would go:
0-29 units: Freshman
30-59 units: Sophomore
60-89 units: Junior
90-120 units: Senior

So basically a first year student is a Freshman, a second year student is a Sophomore, a third year student is a Junior, and a fourth year student is a Senior. Really is just like the HS scheme.

To the best of my knowledge community colleges don't use the freshman/sophomore title scheme. But if you transfer to a 4 year college after you get your Associates, then you'd enter as a Junior.

Will I repeat my sophomore year?

So my freshmen year in high school, I failed four classes, which were English 1, Algebra 1, Gym and Biology for family reasons, then I didn't go to summer school, so I made up two classes during my sophomore year which were Algebra and Biology. Then in my sophomore year I failed gym, so I couldn't go to summer school, so now I failed three classes, and I'm supposed to be a junior. Would I repeat?

How do I get a sophomore girl to go out with me as a freshman?

I'm a freshman and there's a sophmore girl that goes to my high school that I like. I moved last summer so I've only known ppl from this school, including her, for this year.
The girl is my step-sisters friend and that's how I know her. I've seen her in the halls like once a day and we say hi to each other. We've also talked a few time on facebook on her wall or on chat.
Since I've known her she's been dating a kid that goes to our school but she recently broke up with him.
How do I go about it? I don't know her super well but she's really nice. Thanks
For example I talked to her for a while on facebook chat yesterday and it was just regular conversation. Should I say hey again tonight or will I come off as desperate or something like that? Just because it's the second night in a row

Can I get into Ohio State if I screwed up my freshman and sophomore year with a 3.428 and a 3.429, but get a 4.5 next year?

Stop worrying about which school you get into and start worrying about mastering the material. Your focused on the wrong thing.

How to get promoted in Army ROTC?

I am joining Army ROTC next year. I already have 39 college credits so I am going to BCT with the National Guard to make up for the year of ROTC I missed. I was wondering how to rank up in the ROTC ranks.

How do you know whether you are a sophomore, senior, or junior in college?

As you suggest, there is a certain number of credits to be achieved to reach each level. It may vary slightly by school (and would be very different at quarter-system schools), but it generally assumes that you have taken the usual number of units for a year. At my school, for example, 15 credits/semester is the norm, so you become a sophomore when you have 30 credits, a junior at 60, and a senior at 90.

How did you change from a freshman to a senior in high school?

How did you change from a freshman to a senior in high school?Well, let’s figure this out. First, you pass your freshman year, and get promoted to a sophomore. Then you pass your sophomore year, and get promoted to a junior. Then you pass your junior year, and guess what — next year you’re a senior, just like magic. The only other option is that you're so intellectually brilliant that you get promoted directly from freshman to senior. But don’t hold your breath.

My friend (boy) that attends the same high school with me may not get promoted to grade 11 and he’s scared and worried about it. What is some advice I can share with him or what are some positive things I can share with him?

Honestly, if he gets held back a year, it will only benefit him. He will have more time to get better grades. Yes, it tends to look bad to be held back a year but what is worse is barely passing a grade and moving forward to another to do the same. The reason why is that good grades are simply not cutting it for his to be promoted. His grades are also not going to cut it to get a decent GPA for a university he might be interested in going to. He needs to retake 10th grade because it's in his benefit. The school system doesn't hold you back as a punishment, it holds you back to make sure you get the education you need. As embarrassing it could be, many students do great their second year of a grade that they did not pass. Your friend needs reassurance that he needs this because it's for his benefit, not the school system's. The school system would actually benefit to push for him to be promoted to 11th grade with good current grades because they wouldn't be spending more budget on just one student. Tell him he should be happy and not take this second chance for granted.

Im a freshmen can i pass with missing a half credit?

i do not think so. but you can just take an art or music course and if you pass, you will get 1/2 credit. if you do not have the half credit, may be next year you have to take pm school!

Is it good for a 14 year old freshman to play jv baseball?

Chandler has a good answer. I get to brag to all of my friends that I'm a starter on Varsity Water Polo. Make no mistake, I'm very good for a high school player, and I own the record for varsity goals (as a freshman). However, there is only JV/V. At my school, I play freshman (baseball). I throw 80-85 MPH with two fastballs, a sinker, cutter/slider, curveball, and change up. I can throw any of them for a strike, to any part of the plate at any time. I switch hit, I play all positions but center field, and I hit .785, with 14 HRs in 27 games. My school is really good at baseball, and we have over 3,000 students. This year, 140 kids tried out for the FRESHMAN team. Not all of them combined. The freshman team. And we cut 115. That is almost five times as many as we kept. The best answer is: it depends on the school/league you go to. My cross-town rivals are of the exact same student population, yet they play three divisions lower than us, and the closest the game has ever been is 14-3. Yet, we played a school with 490 kids and they beat us 20-2 and hit 7 HRs. So you can't just judge only by the school/division. If you are really that good, congrats.
