How Hard Is Ap Environmental Science

How hard is environmental science?

Environmental science is actually a lot of fun, and not that difficult, provided you are good with science such as geology, chemistry and biology. The hardest part about environmental science isn’t the degree. The hardest part is working in the field. Environmental science is a field which can change rapidly, so much of what you learn in school can become obsolete in a few short years. For this reason, you have to constantly stay on top of the latest science, news and discoveries. That means it’s a lifetime of study, reading and research. But the good part is it’s extremely FUN study, reading and research. My last little tip is to be wary of pop-environmental “news.” The general public derives their information (or misinformation) from the news, and there’s a lot of bias and politics steering these sources. It’s a lot like the tail wagging the dog. A good environmental science student uses high-quality, vetted sources for their information and must ignore the bulk of the mainstream information which you find in the media.

How hard is AP Environmental Science ?

if youre wondering whether or not to take an AP, especially a math or science AP, you need to read the article linked below and ask yourself 3 things

do i reasonably expect to get an A or B with no help and no strain on my other classes and life?

am i in a position to get help if my grade does slip (and with math/sci, even slippping to a B is a good time to start fixing it)?

is my gpa already high enough to take a little damage?

AP Environmental Science. Easy or hard?

I was suppose to take anatomy and physiology, but since my school isn't offering it this year, I changed it to AP Environmental Science.

Is the AP exam easy? One of my former teachers told me that it was easy, since 80% of my school would pass it.

What do you think? Any advice? Thanks! And I'm going to be a junior this year.

How hard is AP Environmental Science?

APES is one of the easiest of the AP courses. However, do not be fooled. It's still an AP course, and there is a ton of specific material to memorize. To give you an idea of how specific, you'll need to know about 15 laws and their implications/uses, specific major air pollutants and their effects/sources, the biogeochemical cycles and the specific reactions, etc. It's unlikely that you'll go over everything, so you'll need to do some self-studying (I recommend the Princeton Review book--don't use Barron's because it has way too much information to be practical for use).Note: If you're live in New York and have already taken Earth Science or an equivalent (not sure about other states), APES will be a breeze. You'll be good for the Earth Systems and Living World units. The test, itself, is fairly difficult with single digit “5” rates, which is due to the extremely specific multiple choice questions and lengthy free response questions. From my experience, the free response questions are fairly easy to BS, but the multiple choice questions are killers.Overall, APES is a good first AP class to get the feel for the rigor of AP courses and a good one for seniors to take to fill up their schedules if they're tired from taking the more challenging AP classes.

Is AP Environmental Science a hard class to take?

there is a reason why it is called AP (Advanced Placement). these are college courses. they are a lot more demanding than a regular high school class. there may be less to no homework at all, but the test and essays will weigh heavily on your grade. then there is the AP exam at the every end with is most like cumulative. if you do take this class, don't screw around. because once you get behind, there are very few opportunities to make up what you lost

How hard is it to self study AP Environmental Science?

As someone who has done this exact thing and left with a 4, I feel pretty qualified in answering this question.APES, like any AP test, is easy to self-study as long as you have the time, effort, and the right resources. I had access to online presentations, the Barron's book, and files from the teacher in my school that teaches it. It also helps to have some knowledge of biology as the two subjects cross over A LOT. I had the luxury of taking AP Biology at the same time as I was self-studying APES, so there were a lot of concepts from the ecology section of Bio that was repeated in APES.A lot of APES also comes down to common sense. There are questions on global warming, food chains, and the water cycle that I knew how to answer because I was repeatedly exposed to them in school. Then again, that may just be me.All in all, APES is not that hard and it is very possible to self-study and get a really good score. But because of that, it's really easy to assume you know a certain concept only to realize that you don't. So take good notes, padawan, and may the AP gods be with you!

How is AP environmental science?

I would like to personally say that I hated it. I know it’s a terrible thing to say, but I want to be honest. But just in case my teacher somehow finds this, I will stay anon. The class itself- not so bad. It is kind of depressing, as you learn about all the ways you are destroying earth- pollution, ruining groundwater, the atmosphere, all the nonrenewable resources, etc. It’s really sad, but turn it around and knowing all this can help you make the earth better, I guess. (Not for me…but hopefully for others)However, since I felt the course was depressing, I just didn’t have interest in this. Also, the teacher was super unengaging and wasted our time with dumb, useless projects. In my opinion, since a lot of APES material is dry, you’ve got to have an engaging teacher to be able to understand and remember information because I usually just ignored and tuned the teacher out because of how boring she made the class. The teacher’s projects did not help. We had to design a fake town. We had to collect our waste for a week. We made fake landfills. Even though they were helpful to a certain extent…it just felt like there were better experiments that pertained better to what we needed to learn. It’s not a bad class; just make sure you have a good teacher or at least be interested in the subject. I wasn’t interested and I had a bad teacher. I managed to get a 3.Hope this helps.

How hard is the AP Environmental Science test, can i self study for it?

Okay, so my school doesnt offer alot of AP's so I cant take AP environmental science. But I'm already taking a regular Environmental Science class so i was thinking about self studying for the test and taking the ap test anyway. however i dont know anyone who has the test. So anyway, i was wondering how hard the test is and if it would be easy to self study for it

also what would be the best way to study for it...should i just buy a guide from princeton review or something?

Should I take AP physics 1 or AP environmental science?

Do you want interests you the most and what is more relevant to the major you wanna study for in college (Assuming you already have that stuff planned out). Nonetheless, AP Physics 1 looks a lot better on your transcript than APES overall. Though, AP Physics 1 is Algebra-based and colleges mainly teach calc-based physics so even if you get a really good score on the Physics 1 AP exam, you probably won't get much credit granted in college compared to getting a good score on the AP Physics C exam. If you wanna study something that has to do with nature sciences and the environment, DEFINITELY take APES. APES isn't very challenging compared to AP Physics which is why physics looks better in general but APES will definitely help you out if you're interested in that sort of thing. All the best! :)
