How Hard Is It To Get From Nj Or Brooklyn Onto Manhattan Daily. Am Traveling To Nyc Next Year And

Is Brooklyn NY in long island?

Wow I can't believe how stupid some people are here and think Brooklyn isn't part of Long Island...

Brooklyn and Queens are the two counties on the Western side of the entire land mass of Long Island. Once you get East of Queens, there is Nassau County, and then Suffolk County is East of Nassau county.

Geographically wise, Brooklyn and Queens are parts of Long Island, but in political terms, Brooklyn and Queens are two of the five boroughs of NYC.

Honestly, it pisses me off on how many people in Brooklyn and Queens don't know and realize that Brooklyn and Queens are part of Long Island.

Getting to BAM in Brooklyn?

Welcome to Brooklyn! Since you are coming to Manhattan relatively cheap and stress free, you should continue this for your trip into Brooklyn. To do so, you have so many easy options.

Right at Port Authority, you can catch the C train (blue) local to Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn. You want to take the Brooklyn bound train. IT will take about 30min.

Outside of Port Authority, walk over to 42nd and Broadway, you can catch the N, R, 2 or 3 train to Atlantic-Pacific St in Brooklyn. Take them Brooklyn-bound, should take 25min.

Have a great time in Brooklyn at BAM! Pretty easy and yes subway is the best way! It will cost $2.25 each way. Unless you plan to roam around taking the subway a few more times, it's best just to pay $2.25 each way, instead of the daily pass.

Is Manhattan Island the same as Long Island?

No, there not. There two different islands.

New Yorkers: Please tell me about Manhattan?

I plan on moving to Manhattan for work in the next few months or so and was just wondering what living there is like, in a nutshell...I currently live in L.A. and am 18. I'm hoping that I will truly love it, and that it won't be too much of a culture shock.

Brooklyn,NY to Harrison, NJ without tolls On 50CC scooter?

Hi guys

I wanted to know if there is no toll road for commute between brooklyn and harrison, NJ to and fro. i am planing to use a 50cc scooter for daily commute.

How long will it take me to drive from NYC to Chicago?

I've made the drive every year during the holidays for the past 10 years or so and it usually takes me about 12 hours, give or take, cruising between 70 and 75. That includes a couple of fill-ups for gas, a couple of fast-food fixes, and as many restroom breaks as necessary. This time of year, you may get some snow, but you're driving on I-80 most of the way, and that's a major artery that's kept well salted and clear of snow if it gets really bad. Check the interstate travel link on weather.com before you leave:

If you're doing the drive in one shot, I recommend getting a good night's sleep and leaving NYC early in the morning (say 6am) to avoid morning rush traffic, then you'll get to Chicago at roughly 5pm CST, just in time for dinner. If you can't handle 12 straight hours in the car, plan ahead and get a room somewhere along the way, like in Youngstown, OH or Cleveland.

Have some cash for the tolls (about $9.25 in Ohio, $4.25 in Indiana). If you have EZ-Pass, it'll work for the toll booths in Illinois - look for the IPass signs. If you don't have EZ pass, you'll need a little more cash for the tolls at the Delaware Water Gap (at the NJ-PA border) and the Chicago Skyway (at the Indiana-Illinois border), not to mention whatever it costs to cross the Hudson.

Make sure you fill up the gas tank before you get to Chicago - gas prices are generally higher than in Indiana.

And don't forget to check your tire pressure!
