How Hard Is Junior Year

Is junior year the hardest year?

Hi, I'm gonna be a junior next year and my schedule will be:

Pre cal
English 11
Spanish 3
Us history and geography
Anatomy and physiology
Ap psychology
Physics
Foods and nutrition

Our school does block scheduling and I was wondering what your guys' experience is with any of these classes? Thanks

How hard is junior year?

It all depends. If your an average kid then it will be semi hard. But if your an honors student then be ready to put your social life to the side because junior year is the year that most colleges look at and colleges want to see AP classes. And assuming your an honors student then you should be taking AP calc and AP Physics and so on your junior year. Good luck, anything is possible and before you know it youll be at Stanford,Berkeley, etc. You can choose whatever youd like.

Is junior year hard? Advice?

Junior year is perceived to be hard because that's when standardized testing is at its peak and you are annoyed about being in high school for 2 years and you still have 2 years to go. Study about more than 3000 SAT words and you should be fine. About 30 words per day should give you a good amount of prep. Review them every day. Furthermore, I recommend you to look at this link, it gives you good strategy advice for the SAT Critical Reading: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/750399-how-attack-sat-critical-reading-section-effectively.html

As for the essay, I suck at the essay so I'm not really sure.

Again, as I told you, Junior year is not hard, it's really annoying because we tend to procrastinate and then our work load goes up with a standardized test or two on our backs. Relax, it'll be fine. I bet college is much worse, and Senior year. Senior year is mad chill. So my advice, relax, you'll be fine, and don't procrastinate. That's one HUGE mistake that I made.

Is junior year as hard as most say it is?

Listen. Seriously, listen very carefully. From now on, every year of your life will seem more difficult than the year before.Every. Year. Will. Be. Harder.Life is kinda designed that way. When you think about it, your life is already that way. First grade was harder than kindergarten. 6th grade was more difficult than 5th grade. High school is higher stake than middle school and more difficult as well. As you get older, you gain responsibilities and the game of life has more high stake consequences. An easy year is a rare thing. Don’t expect them. Don’t hope for them. Don’t look for them. People who do tend to be less happy and more frustrated with life than those who don’t. You will find yourself saying “can’t I just have an easy year for once!”. No! You can’t. That just isn’t life.Good luck.

Is junior year hard in high school?

Well you if you want to get into a decent college you need to make sure you do well your junior year because more then likely it will be your last "full" year of classes, meaning that by the time your senior year comes around you should be able to just take 4-5 classes to finish your requirements and the rest are just for fun.

As far as the ACT it is a standardized test. Average national score when I took it was 19 and I got a 33. Getting a score of 29-30 is very high and that along with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will pretty much get you into any IN STATE college. If you want to go to an out of state college you’ll need to work on your SAT. That being said I didn't study for it at all. There is a prep class that you can take that will teach you the WAY the questions are asked and scored which is actually more important then knowing the answers half the time. For instance you get more points taken off for answering wrong then not answering at all (unless they changed that in the last 7 years).

Whether or not you will have to study hard is entirely up to your learning curve really. I never did homework the entire time I was in school and just passed all the tests. I wasn't a strait A student but because I aced all the examines I still ended high school with a 3.0 GPA. Really it was a lot of fun for me because I used it as an entirely social entity. I didn't go to school to learn I went to hang out. Now I also did very average in school and if I would have taken the time to do my homework and apply myself more I would have probably gotten a scholarship to any school I wanted. But I was lazy and didn't care enough to make the effort and now I haven't graduated from college (still have a easier time of finding work then my fiancé who has a bachelors degree though).

Its all really up to you what you take out of your high school experience but if you don't want to end up regretting too much you should defiantly make sure you don't waste all your time hanging out. Do your homework at least 80% of the time and go to class, other wise you'll just squeak by and will have a hard time getting into college cheaply.

GOOD LUCK!

Which is harder: junior year or senior year?

For me, junior year was harder. I was taking my hardest course load and was also stressed about college. Even though I couldn’t apply until my senior year, I was looking at where I wanted to apply.Senior year wasn’t a breeze though. I still took some AP classes, and first semester was full of stress about applying to college. Even though senior year wasn’t as hard as junior year in terms of my course load, it was still just as stressful. And even if you may think senioritis isn’t real, it is, and my motivation decreased which made senior year more difficult than it needed to be.Both are hard in their own way and depends a lot upon your schedule. Even though my junior year was harder academically, I know some people who took a lot of AP classes their senior year and found it to be harder than their previous year.

How hard it is to bring up your GPA junior year?

It depends on how low it is of course and how many courses you’ve taken and how many you are taking... But in general you will probably find you can do it fairly easily. By senior year though you will find it is hard to make a lot of advances. This is because one grade in senior year is balanced by three other grades in earlier years. You are fighting the weight of 3 times as many grades. For example if you have had three C’s in a subject and as a senior get an A that raises you from a 2.0 in that subject to a 2.5. If you have a 2.8 average and then get all A grades you would only raise your GPA to approximately a 3.1.OTOH if you had a 2.8 average in sophomore year and got all A’s for two years you’d be close to a 3.5So you are in a position to make a difference now.

How hard is it to take the PSAT, SAT, and the ACT in your junior year?

It depends on how good a tester and how well prepared you are. The PSAT and SAT prep are the same, and practicing for both will help with the ACT. You will want to really focus on time management for the ACT, though, because it is the biggest challenge of the test.My son did all three Junior year in the same month. He scored a 1510 on PSAT (missed only one question), a 1440 on the SAT (he was disappointed so he just retook them this month, with practice test putting him around 1570), and a 35 on the ACT (he missed only two questions on the entire test, but one was in Science which cost him two points). Both the SAT and ACT were on the first try, and the ACT was after just doing one practice test. He did prep off and on over the summer for SAT, and he did one practice test prior to PSAT. So he felt really well prepared going in. Not sure what happened with the SATs, but hopefully his score will better reflect his ability this time around.I agree with previous poster who said that the prep for both is pretty much equal content-wise. You’ll just really need to iron out the time management on the ACT in order to get a good score. Focus on test-taking strategies and make sure you have covered all the material - looking back, my son should’ve waited till this spring to take the SAT. But the other two tests, he knocked out of the ballpark. He didn’t use any books, just official practice materials from College Board and ACT, as well as strategies from Prepscholar.Online SAT / ACT Prep Blog by PrepScholar | SAT StrategiesHow to Get a Perfect ACT Score, by a 36 Full ScorerGood luck!!!
