How hard is it to make it into the NBA?

I live in Saskatchewan, Canada and im on a senior high school basketball team. I work hard everyday to improve my skills and ask my coach about my weaknesses and try to develop my skills. I avg around 23 ppg. I was wondering that is it hard for me to make it to the nba if i go to a university in calgary or anywhere in canada and get drafted. I know that there is less competition in canada compared to the united states but shud i go to a college in america so i can atleast make ncaa.
Also are there team try outs for different teams in nba
thanks

How hard is it to make the NBA?

My husband quit his job recently in order to "focus on losing weight, getting in shape, and taking his basketball game to the ultimate level". He's 37 years old and about 40lbs overweight currently, but he says that he can lose that weight and be good enough to make an NBA team in the near future. Hes going to start by playing "HORSE" as much as possible. I told him itsngonna be hard to makenthe nba, but he says it's pretty easy and he's a good player. Am I just too worried about his plan, or should I go get another job to pay the bills in the meantime?

Is my player mode too hard in nba 2k12?

is it just me. No matter how much I move up my shots I can't make a single basket it is really annoying. Also layups r missed way too often. I once hit the bottom of the rim on a fast break layup with nobody close to me. On defense there is no point of trying to stop the opponents offense they out rebound me and score every time down the court. It is also really hard get around players in time or even a straight line. Anyways anybody got any tips or pointers?

Thanks

Can hard work get you into the nba?

Hard work can make you do anything. Hence, my hard work during my college years has set me up for Medical school in 2 years.

How hard do i have to work to make the nba?

What up Michael S,

Making the NBA isn't just about how hard you work- other wise some guys that you see at the park everyday are in the NBA.

A lot of it has to do with what you have to work with. i mean there are some guys who have been in the NBA just because they were "genetically" gifted. You can't teach 7 foot 1, 300 lbs.

I mean you have some players who are just flat out talented but never reach their full potential because of work ethic.

It's a great dream - pursue it - but also have a backup. So many of us have hoop dreams- but reality kicks in- ie: you play for your high school basketball team but you don't even make it as a starter or get recruited by a college- you might consider another career... etc.

Good luck- keep those dreams alive,

Nickster

What does it truly take to make it to the NBA?

For of all, the players that make it are usually much more talented than the players who don’t. In sports like track and field, its easy to know which people are extremely talented because they will have better high school times. In basketball it is sometimes hard to know who is extremely talented and who isn’t until you get the players together because of the impact of coaches and teammates. But the players good enough to make it can typically do everything quicker and better than the players who don’t. They get more rebounds, they get more points, more steals and more blocks in open gym settings against other college players. The D1 benchwarmer you know is a good player against high school competition but simply isn’t as quick, strong, and talented as his teammates. No shame in that but it can be hard for outsiders to understand. The NBA is in many ways a league of specialists. The players being drafted are those believed to be able to best fit into certain roles. These players aren’t always the players that had the best stats in college. For instance, NBA teams need people who are great three point shooters who are long enough to rotate and defend other three point shooters. They need people who are quick and strong enough to hustle down rebounds. Etc. The type of specialists needed vary from team to team and evolves over time as team strategy changes but it’s all about your ability to fill a role. For instance, today people want that very quick point guard who can get to the rim against anyone. This role became more useful when overall three point shooting improved enough that you couldn’t just leave a big defender in the paint not really guarding anyone.
