How Hard Would It Be For A 16 Year Old Who Just Got A Bmx Bike Learn To Do Tricks

How hard is it to learn to ride a motorcycle?

I may be the best one to answer this as I have recently learnt it.Before going ahead, let me tell you, like you, I could ride a bicycle and also no-gear scooters. Never owned a motorcycle and never borrowed from anyone.Since ages, I had this aim/dream to own a Royal Enfield Classic 350. It is a 350cc heavy cruiser motorcycle with a weight of around 200kgs. It is a heavy one. All metallic body. Now, after working and saving for 2 years, I finally could save enough money to buy it. I bought it and my father asked one person from the showroom to deliver it to our home. Which he did.I was so excited to ride it but I didnt know that.So what I did? I started watching YouTube tutorial videos for Beginners on How to Learn to Ride a Motorcycle. I watched till like 12–1 at night, watching random videos on the same things which gave me a lot of ideas to get started with. Yes, I would like to mention that I have like a week training in cars (I mean if there is any emergency, I can take you to hospital. Mind it, it will be a bumpy ride :p)So the next morning, I woke up at 5 and so did my father. As I learnt from the videos, I kickstarted the bull and slowly released the clutch to know the friction zone of the clutch. You will get to know all about them in the YouTube videos. I am not going to teach you here, obviously :pIt is now 1 month and I already rode like 800 kms on it. Yes, on the first day, the gear shifts will make some noise and might be bumpy but in a week, you will get used to it.Mind one thing. Speed isnt important. Get the balance. Get the gear shift your second nature. Work on those. Start - Change to 1st Gear from Neutral - Go a bit - Stop - Repeat. I had some difficulty in moving the bike in the 1st gear and so does many. Work more and more on that.Let me tell you one thing. Be responsible while riding a motorcycle. It is 2 wheeler and so are very risky. Be in a speed which you can control while in an emergency. Wear proper gear all the time.Enjoy Learning! If you need any tips or tricks, do let me know. I am not an experienced but learning everything fresh and so I can teach better. ;)Hope that helps.

How do I learn to ride a bike on my own?

well you should probably start off with some training wheels on your bike. i'm not sure if they have adult size training wheels but just look around. if someone asks who you're buying them for, just say "your little sister or cousin"

first just sit on the bike. get a feel for it. know where your brakes are. (when going really fast never use the front brake! you will flip over the handle bars!) you should probably wear a helmet for now until you get the hang of riding.

next thing is to just pedal. at first it will be hard for you to get your balance on the bike but it will come. just keep pedaling until you feel ready to take the training wheels off. you might want to have a friend help you and be there to support you.

happy riding!

How do you build a BMX bike?

I assume you are not wanting to learn how to weld your own frame from tubing - that would be another discussion. But rather, you want a bike in which you get to select every individual component. First, educate yourself on your “wants.” Study the BMX brands and their sponsored riders to find those that you can identify with, that you will want to “represent.” Next, having decided on a frame brand and model, you'll need to pick a size. (Since you are old enough to ask a question on here, I will assume you want a frame sized for 20″ wheels, not oddball sizes like 16″, 18″, or 24″. Those sizes are all used for good reasons, but not used by 95% of BMXers.) BMX Frames are sized by Top Tube length. Quick rule of thumb: if you are under 5′ to 5′6″ tall, 20″ top tube. 5′6″ to 5′9″, 20.5″ top tube. 5′10″ to 6′1″, 21″ top tube. 6′2″ & over, 21.5″ top tube. Yes, some companies like S&M offer sizes like 20.625 (which is fine, more choices isn't bad), but I feel that is sort of gimmicky, and you actually get used to whatever frame you happen to have - whatever the size is. Now that you have decided on the frame brand, model and size, it is time to go shopping. If there is a BMX specialist bike shop in your town, go there. They will help you build your dream bike. If not, check out the online retailers. There are several that have been in business for 20+ years and would love to help you get a great set up. Danscomp.com, albesbmx.com, and empirebmx .com are all longtime dealers with great reputations. They will help you pick all the parts you need to make your custom complete a reality.

Fixed gear or multiple gear bike?

I'm wanting to get a bike to ride to work through town. I've seen fixed gear road bikes and didn't know what the advantages/disadvantages were compared to multiple gear road bikes. I've had mountain bikes all of my life and had issues shifting from the lower 6 gears to the upper gears once they got some age on them. Is this the reasoning for fixed gear road bikes or is there an advantage I'm not aware of?

What exactly is a BMX bike?

I read on Wikipedia that they have standard 20" tires, but that's all it said about it. My 9 year old son has a bike and has been trying to turn the one he has into a bmx bike. He removed all the breaks so that the front steeringwheel now freespins. Is that normal. He now has no breaks. (Doesn't really matter because we live way out in the country where it's flat). Anyway, do bmx bikes have rear breaks? I'm thinking of buying him one for his upcoming birthday, but don't know anything about them. Which is a good brand to buy that's not too expensive ( $100 or less)?
Any answers will be much appreciated!

Am I too old to get into BMX?

Hi all,

I'm 19 years old and I've been watching flatland bmx for several years now, it's something i've loved since I was an early teenager, but within the first two months of my learning, my new bmx bike was one of several stolen at school and I was too intimidated to get back into the sport.
A few days ago my $1500 racing bike was stolen including half the rack it was locked to (They were nice enough to leave me the front wheel).
Now that I'm a bike down, I've been thinking about starting over and teach myself (I do shift working, so I have 4-5 days off at a time and I need a new hobby). The biggest fear I've been having is that I've left it too late and I'm too old for it and I'd look like an idiot. :( Would you start if you were in my position?
