Why was Berlin the capital of Nazi Germany?

Berlin was the capital of Prussia before 1871. When Prussia’s king became the German emperor, Berlin became the German empire capital. Things didn't changed until 1945. In the meantime, Hitler had huge plans for Berlin, to convert it in a world metropoli: World Capital Germania.

Why is Ottawa the capital of Canada?

Like most other things in Canadian history, it was a compromise.During the early history of the "Province of Canada" (1840-1867), there was no fixed capital. The legislature met where it was convenient. There were plans for a permanent capital, but many of the existing temporary sites were vying for it. The competing cities were Niagara-on-the-Lake, Toronto, Kingston, Montreal and Quebec City. The Canada legislature was set up with equal representation from Upper Canada and Lower Canada, which effectively meant that all the temporary sites would be unsatisfactory and would not be able to get support.  Lower Canadians wanted the capital in Lower Canada, and Upper Canadians wanted it in Upper Canada. Since they both had 50% of the votes, there could never be a consensus. Another problem was that everyone realized the capital was going to draw money to it, and no-one wanted to further enrich any of the larger cities.Ottawa, as a result, had a lot going for it. First, unlike the older cities, it was unlikely anyone could profit by the capital going there and there would be plenty of room to build out a capital city at moderate cost. Although it was on the Upper Canada side of the river, that part of Upper Canada had a large number of French speakers.  Because it sat at the junction of the Rideau and Ottawa rivers, it was accessible both to the major cities of Upper Canada and Lower Canada. The two sides came to the necessary compromise and Ottawa has been the capital ever since.

Why does Capital One keep calling me?

So my credit isn't bad but it's not great either. I have a Mastercard credit card with another company (NOT CAPITAL ONE) and have been working to pay that off but since then, I'm not using the credit card.

Anyway, since I'm not using a credit card, I decided to open a Capital One Rewards checking account that came with a debit card. I've been using my debit card for my purchases and I always have enough money in the account. I've never overdrawn.

But for the past 2 days, Capital One has been calling my cell phone. I can't call them back because I'm in classes and by the time I am out, the business hours have ended. I have no idea what they want, but I'm wondering if it has to do with my bad credit? Could they cancel my debit card for that? I opened it last month and I haven't had any problems.

Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be because I opened the account online? I keep track of my balances very carefully and I know I never had a problem.

The construction took nearly 4 decades to complete.Later on, the Yuan dynasty fell to the Ming dynasty. There was a civil war between Zhu Di and Emperor Jianwen. Zhu Di power base was at Beijing, so after he won the civil war, he was afraid that Nanjing, the Ming capital was full of supporters of the deposed Emperor. He decided to change his capital to his power base in Beijing. Beijing had been the capital of the Ming and Qing ever since. The capital was moved to other cities in the warlord era, and Japanese invasion. However, after the Chinese civil war ended. the PRC reinstated Beijing as its capital once again. Beijing has been the capital of China since that period.

When and why did Rome stop being the capital of the roman empire?

Diocletian re-organized the Roman empire in 285ad., dividing it into eastern and western halves, making Milan the capital of the western portion. (Ravenna was also, temporarily, the capital of the west.) In the east, Constantine, in 313ad., made Constantinople the capital of the eastern Roman empire. From then on, for brief times the capital of the entire empire was Milan or Constantinople; but usually, these two cities served as capitals of the West or East.

The switch to Milan was probably done for military reasons, since Milan was closest to the border, and thus was more able to watch/react to military events on the border.
