How Have You Influenced Someone In A Good Way Either By Teaching Them Or Mentoring Them

How does teacher efficacy influence student achievement?

An effective, efficient teacher constantly evaluates whether her students are learning, not just the "quality" of her teaching. If a teacher is only focused on her behavior, she could be performing wonderful teaching. However, if her students are not learning, despite her teaching, the teaching is ineffective.

Effective teachers look at student assessments, see what students are and aren't learning, and then adjust instruction accordingly. If kids didn't learn something, the effective teacher goes back and reteaches it. If one kid didn't learn it, the teacher offers that student (and requires his participation!) extra assistance.

When teachers refuse to let students fail, student achievement soars.

Easily Influenced good or bad?

All said and done, being easily influenced implies lack of adequate reasoning before making a decision........ in my books it is as bad as emotionally charged words or actions......... the issue here is not whether any such decision or action eventually results in good or bad..... the key issue here is what effort has gone into it to try ensuring that it would rather be good than bad. I believe that if adequate time and independent thought is not invested in a decision, it amounts to gambling rather than deciding and gambling depicts lack of responsibility and control quite disproportionate to the inherent accountability.

Who has been the greatest positive influence/mentor figure in your life so far? What qualities made them so?

A Canadian hipster called Jack.Sure, both of my parents have been steadfast examples of compassion. My brother has been a confidante, my school teachers have been anything from encouraging to the opposite.I am a life student. I learn a bit from everybody. But Jack was revolutionary.I knew him for a grand total of (barely) two days. My path was fortunate enough to cross his in Galway, Ireland. We were both solo travelers, and became acquainted at a hostel. He was everything I didn't know I wanted to be.Calm, confident. Independent. A beautiful, free spirit. He smiled more than he talked. Was clever, yet chill. He'd been all over Europe, Asia, and was heading for Australia next.Or maybe Nepal again.Or Germany. He was still deciding, but wasn't stressing.Jack didn't get lost, he found adventures. He'd worked hard for what he had, for years as a waiter back in Canada. And he realized how lucky he was to have the chance to explore the world. He lived simply. Minimalistically. Was nothing like a toursit, and everything like a child wandering and marvelling the streets of far away lands. And big mountains. And rocky shores.Jack appreciated constellations more than spare change.Being around him, for just that snippet of time, helped the air feel clearer. The sky feel bigger, and the universe feel smaller. He had one of those auroras that seemingly keeps everything connected.Over two years ago, was the last time I saw Jack. And words still fall short of describing the awe of those two days.He himself was a life student. Just living and loving every second of it.And my friends at home didn't understand, how I'd admired a stranger. How Jack hadn't felt like a stranger, but much like an old friend. We dined together and walked together. Talked about life. And I learned, on that final evening beside Jack, that I aim to mirror a soul such as his.Thank you for the answer request :)

What is the role of a school teacher in a student's life?

Teachers play a very important role in student’s life. A teachers is a role model person in student’s life who bring out the best in them and encourage them to strive for greatness. Teachers know that students are the future of the country, So they share the knowledge and helps them to become a better person.I think we need teachers on every step of life. They are not only important for students but also for society. Presence of teachers in any meeting and social activities boost the moral and make the time more valuable. Here are a few thing every teacher needs to do for students:A teacher should be impartial, he/she must treat all the students equally.A teacher or a tutor need to understand their students from different angles, like how much skilled a student is , how much time he take to processes information, how good his memory is or why he does not understand something.He/She has to think of solutions to help the students to overcome their problems. There are different kind of students, some are slow in learning, some are fast learners and some are average students. Generally teachers, do not like to explain a concept again and again to a student. So a they must be patient enough to deal with such students.Every teacher need to have these essentials qualities. They need to be calm, enjoy their job and realise its importance.

Was Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin a mentor/mentee?

I am writing a report on either Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin (haven't decided) and I was curious: Did either have them have a mentor, or were they a mentee at some point?

My report is on their mentor/mentee relationship with someone, but I can't find anything. The sources have to be websites, and I haven't been able to find anything, even though I've searched and searched. Thy both seemed to be independent guys in terms of their career.

Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Should I reconnect with a high school teacher? How?

I think it's great that you want to reconnect with your teacher. Truly great teacher have an interest in molding young people into successful adults, and in most cases, love to hear from old students that things are going great!

I love connecting with people in my past who had great or profound influence on me either educationally or as mentors, or both. I have gotten in touch with a few people in my past...2 of them most notable.

The first was my Russian professor. I looked for him on Google search and Facebook and finally found him, which he was excited to hear I was doing well. The second was my 3rd grade teacher (the most influential teacher I ever had, and probably the reason I ended up in the field I work in today. Luckily, I grew up in a small town so finding her was easy. I paid her a surprise visit at her work (she worked in a small, family owned shop so it wasn't creepy as it sounds!). She remembered me immediately after 18 years and loved catching up!

My recommendations for finding some one is Google. You can find almost anyone with Google. When you search his name, add keywords like where he used to work, or his profession, etc. It wouldn't hurt to try emailing. You'll never know if the message will go to junk or not until you try.

It's always great to let important people in your life know how much of an impact they've made on your life. Teaching is an underpaid and thankless job in many cases, and you could make that person's day with your acknowledgment.

Hope this helps!

How do you call someone who has affected your life a lot in a positive way?

Depends on how they affected your life.If they gave you lots of financial support, then “Benefactor”.If they gave you lots of moral support, then “Supporter”.If they gave you lots of good advice, then “Mentor”.If they gave you lots of love, then either “Parent” or “Mate”, depending on the type of love.

What are some full filling alternatives to having children?

in regards to being a positive influence on children without parenting them:

mentoring
becoming an educator
tutor
open up your home as a "safe haven" for lack-key kids
work for a youth agency
donate to a youth agency
serve on the board of a youth agency
host "parents' night out events" and let the children stay at your place for the evening. show movies, read stories and let the kids bake cookies. while mom and dad have a romantic night alone.
volunteer at a school club

i've personally done all of these; and some of my best experiences were seeing these young people grow up, graduate from school and go on to be productive adults.
