How I Could Be Patient When I Want Something

Can you send things directly to a patient in the hospital? ?

My sister-in-law is in the hospital and I wanted to send something. She lives in a different state so I would have to mail it to her. I have been looking at flowers, cookie baskets and balloon bouquets, but I think they're over priced and I could put something together myself that is cuter and cheaper.
What I'm unsure of is, will the mail deliver to her? Would it go to the hospital and the staff deliver it? Will they even accept it? I've never sent anything other than flowers or cookies.
Thanks in advance

Is it common for dementia/Alzheimer's patients to always complain of being raped?

Paranoia and belief that something bad has happened are common in dementia. The specific false claim of rape is unusual, but not extremely unusual.

As a guy who works with people with dementia, if I had a patient that was making that kind of claim, I would go straight to my supervisor and tell her that the patient was saying that somebody had raped her, and I would:
a) want to make sure it was not true or that whoever it was was being looked for, because just because a person is confused doesn't mean that what they say has NOTHING to do with reality
b) want somebody aware of the situation to cover my butt, and give my supervisor the option of having me switch with a female caregiver
c) if my supervisor wanted me to continue working with the patient, I would want some ideas about how to make her feel more safe, because somebody talking about rape all the time is not, bottom line, feeling safe.

Can you tell me some good movies like The English Patient?

Well I don't know what The English Patient is, but some AWESOME films are anything directed by the great Stanley Kubrick, "Amelie" is a quirky French romance that is beautiful, "Amadeus" is just a movie that is plain breathtaking, "Manic" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" are brill if you want something gritty with inner turmoil, "500 Days of Summer" is an indie romance with a twist which is amazing. You can feel the sadness and love.
