How Is Everyone Tonight . Weather Getting Nice . Got My Water Sports Going On . How It Going With

Just finished a run in extreme heat, and getting cold chills?

YES! Vomiting and cold chills are two major signs of heat exhaustion, which means its quite worse then just dehydration. You need to drink as much cold fluids as possible and take a cold shower. It would be good to drink a sports drink as well to replenish electrolytes and sodium.

It is really not wise to run in heat like that but I am really not one to judge since I run when it is in the 90's as well. To prevent this from happening again though. Make sure you are very very well hydrated and a good way to know is look at the color of your urine. It needs to be crystal clear if you are going to be running in that heat. Also make sure you run with a bottle of cold water from now on.

This heat is no joke and from the sounds of it you were fairly close to having a heat stroke, which is what comes after heat exhaustion and can result in death.

After reading some of the other answers I felt I should post a link that is very informative of heat related illness. PLEASE READ this so you guys can make a more educated decision before you go and run when its 100+ degrees. Also know that the body's core temperature can not rise above 104, It is really easy for that to happen when it is already that temp outside and you add exercise to the equation.

How many people hate living in Northeast Ohio as much as me?

Sweetie trust me I hate it more than you do. I love what you wrote. You made some great points. I have lived in many places but Northeast OH. takes the gag cake! I agree Cleveland has enough to do on a 4 day vacation...maybe.
People here care more about sports than just about anything. I have come to the conclussion that must be all they really have. Yes I as well have a business that caters to the sports industry. Thank Goodness I can at least make money from these Cleveland Fans. I will never understand why they think they are a suburb of Columbus. This hero worship of the Scarlet and Gray is sickening. Maybe it is the lack of sun!
Maybe they just do not get enough sun here.
They also procrastinate with everthing. I love the Rock Hall and I think it sucks that the induction ceremony is not here...Now what does that say...The Rock Hall is here but all the festivities are in New York. Oh yes there will be NE OHIO lovers who will rant and rave and state 10 reasons why Cleveland Rocks! If Cleveland Rocked Halle Berry would be the weather girl and Drew Carey would own the Indians!!
God forbid the Sports bandwagon of Cleveland interferes with your life. They are all over the sports but God help them...When one of the Cleveland teams lose they never mention the loss. They live and die by how the team of the season is doing. Curse or no curse who cares.
Suburbanites will tell you Cleveland Rocks but they refuse to live there. They live in Solon or Westlake but never Cleveland.
I saw a youtube video about Asteve Thomas. It is so sad to see the distruction hey but Ohio State is going to a BSU title game, the Indians are in the Playoffs, the Browns have improved to win more games then the Bengals and well as long as Cleveland has Lebron they will win. This is a pathetic nast mean deplorable place. Some descriptives of Cleveland
Nasty, Rude, Pathetic, sports obsessed, unkind, I could go on......Have a good one and please know I hear you!

Are Oakley SI Gloves good for regular use in cold weather of 0 degrees C/32 degrees F and below?

I have two pairs. I use both.

No not knowing how you react to cold and based the fact that cold is a sensation and subjective, here's my experience.

On cold days, just to keep some cold air off my hands, the SI gloves are fine. However, the SI gloves have vents on them (the plastic "o shaped things" (near the carbon fiber nuckels) and will let in cold air. These gloves are NOT insulated so if you're just sitting doing nothing, your hands will get hold. I found that if I'm working, playing paintball, shooting, etc., some kind of physical activity, my hands don't get as cold since there is a layer of fabric protecting my hands from the cold air. BUt they still do get really cold after a while.

In the big snow storms on the east coast last year, I made the mistake of wearing them outside to shovel snow and to go hiking to take pictures. IT was blowing pretty hard and those gloves don't block wind. The material is pretty porous in windy conditions and my hands got really cold, REALLY fast.

So, to answer your question, the SI glove is NOT windproof or water proof, they have vents that lent in air. So, I love these gloves but for super cold conditions, you really need to go with a cold weather glove. If it's just for looks and you can stand the cold, go ahead and wear them. If it's for functional need, I'd say go with something purpose built for cold weather. Remember, the SI glove is based on a Mountain Biking glove so there is a need to vent sweat and bring in air to keep your hands cool.

Fancy helping me out here folks (long)?

Well today me and my 3 best mates went to the Thomas Cook travel agent and got lots of brochures. We sat looking through them for ages and got talking about the 4 of us going on holiday together. We were picking out places we'd like to go from the brochures and after a while, it became clear we weren't just messing around anymore, we actually want to do it xD my treatment could last anytime between 4 months and a year, but today I got told that at this early stage I'm responding well so hopefully it'll be nearer the 4 months =) that was the main reason me and the lads thought about planning a holiday for summer 2011, if all goes to plan, I'll be in remission by then and we'd have a great time.

We wont be booking it for a while yet but I'm quite excited by the whole idea of it so I'm just looking for ideas and stuff xD I'll be 17 and the other 3 will be 18. I casually mentioned it to my parents and they seemed okay. 2 of them currently have part time jobs, the other is looking and I will as soon as I can. I think this will be good, because it will give me something to look forward to.

So, what I want from you guys, is suggestions =) we were maybe thinking Tenerife, or Majorca. But we are open to suggestions from your experiences, it must be in Europe though. So anything you think might suit 4 17/18 year old boys, we love waterparks, theme parks, swimming pools and beaches. Not too fussed about nice shopping towns or scenery, although it would be a bonus

Sorry it's so long. Stars so more people will answer and answers themselves are greatly appreciated =) Thanks guys
