How Is My Photography Site

What to put on my photography website?

Just look at what other photographers have put on their websites. I believe that a website that you will be using to attract customers should be as simple and easy to navigate as possible. No silly flash slide shows, no images zooming and moving around, no difficult to use interface. Just a simple website showing galleries of your best work, preferably against a dark background, a little about yourself and your contact details.

And certainly no blog!... Deary me.

Good luck with the site!.

(I keep meaning to update mine, I do not seem to have much spare time these days but I like to keep mine as simple as possible http://www.ianfisher.info )

My photography website...?

Not a bad site at all.

Your "others" section is by far your best work. It really stands out as compared to the others. You have a very artistic eye.

Your nature and animal shots are not bad either. Good depth of field use and composition, saturation.

Your portrait/people section is so-so, not bad but nothing really breath taking or unique. Of course, with wedding pictures you don't want to get too weird. I would suggest you study up on portrature work and do more work and post more variety of shots on your website.

Using a good long lens really helps in portrature, 90mm or longer. You definitely have a future in photography but know that people are not just going to come beating your door down just because you have a website. You will have to do a lot of self promotion and a good portfolio is essential. Nice looking business cards with link to your website will be good as well but always have samples ready to show people who want to see in person.

You are a very good photographer and will do well. Keep experimenting, studying other people's work and then let your imagination loose. Good luck and have loads of fun and feed your creative appetite.

I need a site to show my photography?

http://jpgmag.com/ is a great site for photography.
I use it myself, mine is http://jpgmag.com/people/ahna if you wanna view it.

but,The site is great for comments, giving props, viewing photos, and all sort of that type of things. You can also summit your photos into certain category's and have a chance of it showing in the websites magazine.&&there is other neat things about this site, you should check it out.

Hope this helps!

How can I get people to like my photography site?

You gotta hustle. Got that from my mom. Sure she heard that somewhere.Basically you need to tell your story to everyone who might listen in the hopes that enough of them will listen. And at some point, others will listen as the word gets around. Social media is the first place to go. Talk it up. Use some of your most memorable photos and the story behind them to get them to visit your site. Facebook is very good for this.Once you’ve done this a couple of times it gets easier. Keep the momentum up. Artists need to regularly bang the drum so that people have reason not only to visit, but to return again and again. Maybe it’s your latest assignment, your next gallery opening, or the class you are teaching. If your site has frequent updates, you have all the more reason for them to come back. Keep it fresh and don’t be shy about your work.

What's a good name for my photography site?

No better way to be original than to think of one yourself (not intending to be sarcastic or rude here! =D). Seriously, you want the title of your photography business to reflect your own photographic style...

What do you want to be communicated through your photos?
How do you want people to feel or react when they see your photos? What do you think of when you look at your photos?
What are things that reflect your unique personality?

I'm just going to mention some names of other photographers to help stir your creative juices:

Summer Nell Photography (History behind the name: nothing sophisticated- simply her favorite season and her nickname)

Epic Photography (History behind the name: photographer has photo-journalistic approach to taking photos. Epic is historical narrative or poem; this title reflects the way she approaches photography.)

Many people use their first name, middle name, initials, nicknames to title their photography. Others use titles that embody their style, such as Capture Memories Photography, etc.

Just sit and brainstorm some ideas that reflect YOU as a person and photographer.

I know that's not exactly what you wanted, but hopefully it will help you out anyway.. Good luck! =)

What is a good name for my photography website?

My name is Alyssa Raelynn Macias. I would like my last name to not be included in website name because it's difficult to pronounce. I would like a unique yet chic, simple, and elegant name. I do amateur photography for the time being, but have been used for doing tons of senior pictures and picture of children. Please help me out. Thank you :)

How to improve my photography site?

Whoah.......... so many things.

1. never ever ever advertise a site which has a home page saying
"Site is Temprarily Shut Down

The ads were not safe. They have been removed and the site will have to be redone."

I saw that and nearly never moved on to any other pages.
If you have a problem on a page then remove it, work on it off-line then re-load it. It is very easy to make a temporary front page.

2. News page - should be further down the list, unless you are famous and people want to hear about you.

3. About me - get rid of it. it is senseless and just a load of waffle.

4. Follow me - should be at the bottom of the list of links. Basically you are telling people to not visit your main site - surely that is not the objective.

5. Donations - right so you are advertising that so far you have had no donations - DOH!! just put a link to where people can donate - why on earth would I donate if no-one else is?

6. Categories -
1. change to Galleries - put it further up the list of links
2. get rid of that silly "rules for use" it is totally meaningless really. If you want to put a copyright notice then put it at the bottom of each page as a one liner.
3. do NOT list categories which are empty, use thumbnails as the links rather than just text.

7. the images themselves.
Landscapes - sorry but they are not great. The subject matter is fine but whether it is the processing or the reduced resolution, the images are pretty flat looking. Most are lacking contrast.
Plants/flowers - to be brutally frank - they are average. There is nothing there which has any real clout and certainly nothing I personally could not find on a thousand and one other sites.

8. Products - see previous comments about not loading pages which are not ready.

Sorry but the site is not one I would return to.
If you have to change or remove pages then do so immediately, don't put a link which leads to a "nothing so see here folks".

I know I have been extremely harsh but you asked and I am nothing if not honest in my opinions.

Oh - Lastly, DON'T give your work away, if you want donations rather than payment to yourself then ensure that if someone does try and download an image that they are taken to the donation page first and must make the donation prior to the download.

Are there websites for photographers other than 1x or 500px?

A new and great website for photographers is - Photos of Us, this site allows photographers to create a profile that they can use to store, share, and sell their photos with clients and customers shopping for photos. The unique part about Photos of Us is that it saves photographers time exchanging contact info with clients and event attendees, for all they must do is take a photo of a unique coded Photos of Us card and then snap a pic of a client/event attendee, hand the card to the subject, and that’s it! From there, the customer just needs to search the code on the Photos of Us website, and it will automatically bring up all the photos the photographer uploaded of them. From there they can easily purchase either digital or physical copies of the photos, and any physical purchases will be drop shipped to their doorstep. It’s that simple! All the photographer has to worry about is taking photos, editing, and uploading! No need to exchange contact info and no need to print and ship!Customers just looking for photos can also buy your snaps. All they have to do is search for your profile or search for a particular tag. When you upload photos, they are automatically given relevant tags. For instance a wedding picture may have the following tags “bride”, “groom”, “wedding”, “married”, etc. This makes it even easier for people to stumble upon your photos!I hope this helps!
