Other machines such as the lever in steering and suspension components.
Oscillation frequency of the suspension.
If I had time I could continue for hours and hours just listing areas of study.
And years if I went into detail.

man I struggled on bike trying to ride the perfect wheelie. bikes are a blast don't get me wrong. but after I got my first quadracer the first day it was a half block long wheelie. quads are the wheelie god. Not only that but sand, mud, snow, ice, gravel, woods. they frickin rock. spinning doughnuts and then riding the biggest wheelie on one wheel. hill climbing. another guy said something right though about setting it up. You almost need to build a machine to suit your needs. mx/ trail/tt/ice/drag/hill/sand/street/woods... there are different machines that work great as different starting points. like a honda trx250r is a great mx or woods machine. a suzuki quad is awsome on the flats stock but they make killer dune quads because you can put a 500 engine in a 250 frame. then a little better suspension and you pretty much have the best quad ever:) ya cmon banshee boys bring it on. dirt bikes are fun but are limited. a hybrid quad you can do much with.

One thing I have learned recently is that it matters how deep the gravel is. I have been putting gravel on my sloped driveway recently. Where the gravel is thin (1 or 2 layers deep), the traction is significantly better than where the gravel is thick (5 to 6 layers deep). I'm using 3/4" crushed gravel so the thin gravel is 1/2" - 1" and the thick gravel is 2-3".It also matters whether the gravel is crushed or round, and how much it has been pushed into the road bed. The round gravel that is freshly applied (not pushed into the road bed) is almost like marbles under the tires.I think that is why a thick layer isn't as effective. It doesn't embed into the road bed and the top gravel just keeps moving around on the gravel below it. If the gravel had more fine sand, it would pack together better, but then I have more risk of it washing down the slope. That already happened to me once.Obviously, this isn't a single number answer. At best, I think embedded gravel could be almost as good as asphalt. According to this source, that could be as good as 0.9.
