How Is Traveling In Phuket Thai And Bali Indonesia

Comparison between Langkawi(Malaysia), Phuket(Thailand) and bali(Indonesia) as honeymoon location??

I have never been to Langkawi, but I've been to Phuket and Bali (I'm from Indonesia). I personally like Phuket more just because the 'James Bond' islands are such an incredible nature. I think both are very tourist friendly (don't have to worry about finding decent accomodation, etc). But i definitely would recommend doing some more research, look at different websites and opinions. Have fun!

Where should I travel to this summer, Bali or Thailand?

You only mention summer but did not mention how many days, 4 or 5 others have given you some answers, though I see some mistakes in them. These are what I wish to add:Between June to September are the best months for Bali, as these are the dry months. Bali have a very unique culture and religion, not found in anywhere else and unlike the rest of Indonesia. Depending on the number of days you have, a visit to Bali must include Kuta/Legian area(centre and beach) and Ubud(art/culture/countryside). The biggest setback for visiting Bali is transportation. There are no convenient public transportation to travel around Bali, you need to hire a private car and driver unless you just stay in Kuta and Ubud.Thailand is a country and much larger than Bali and have much more things to do, more cities, more sights, more entertainment, night life and shopping. Don't miss the Grand Palace of Bangkok, traditional Thai massage, impressive malls like ICONSIAM, CentralWord and Siam Paragon(last 2 are walking distance between them) and outdoor night market/walking streets, Yaowarat Chianatown at night. 2 hours away is Pattaya, a seaside city famous for its transvestite shows and a lively walking street. Chiang Mai is the cultural city with many Thai Buddhist temples, don't miss the old city, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Doi Suthep, Wat Ban Den and the Night Bazaar. Phuket for beaches, entertainment. Don't miss Phi Phi island(movie Beach) and Phang Nga Bay(movie Man with the Golden Gun). Cheap public transportation are possible anywhere in Thailand. Both are the most visited places in Asia and your choice will be tough.Without knowing your conditions and pace/style of travelling, the obvious choice is Thailand especially if you have more days, say 10 or more.If you know you will DEFINITELY come back for a longer stay SOON, and this summer trip is short, consider visiting Bali first.Google for more images of both. If the cultural scenes of Bali and beaches are not your major interest, choose Thailand.

When Bali, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand are featured in the top five travel destinations, why aren't Indian cities featured in the top ten?

The places that you named, have over decades built their economies around tourism. They have the necessary infrastructure to cater to international tourists. I have traveled extensively around India and cannot think of any city except Goa and Pondicherry that match that level of tourist infrastructure. However, both these cities are no where as clean compared to the cities you mentioned. No wonder they do do not list in the top five. There are several small travel destinations that are comparable to those destinations but they lack the infrastructure to cater to huge numbers of international travelers. For instance, Hampi, McLoedganj, Alleppey, Lonavala, Jodhpur, Sikkim, etc. Finally, on a holiday tourists look for solitude to relax and rejuvenate. India cities are the last place you can find that. Our tourist destinations are swarmed by domestic travelers. The roads to every tourist destination are choked from the closest metro during the weekends. cases in point, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. Thus, it is unlikely that our tourists destinations will make it to the top five international destinations.P.S. the only place I can think of that is an exception and has potential to reach the top 5 i actually Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Part of the reason is because it is away from the mainland and to that extent inaccessible.

Which is the best beach destination: Boracay (Philippines), Bali (indonesia), Phuket (Thailand)?

I haven´t been to Boracay or Phuket, but Bali was beautiful and has a lot to offer, beautiful beaches, a good night life, but also a lot of culture and traditions. It is true that there are beach areas with lots of tourists (Kuta and Sanur for example), but there are also some beaches with not so many tourists. Lovina, in the north of Bali, is beautiful. It has black sand, which is very interesting to see. Nusa Dua is very nice as well. You can go snorkeling or diving there and if you´re lucky see some turtles! Jimbaran is also very nice. If you decide to go there, definitely try the restaurants on the beach in the evening, the seafood is delicious! Bali also has some great things to see, when you want something different than the beach. Go visit Ubud, a beautiful artistic village within lots of rice fields. You can also visit many beautiful temples, like for example Tanah Lot, which is really impressive!
If you want another beautiful beach destination, you could try the three little islands that belong to Lombok, Indonesia: Gili Meno, Gili Air or Gili Trawangan. Very nice and quiet beaches, great for diving and snorkeling.
I have been travelling through Indonesia for two months and I would definitely recommend it!

Which one is best, Bali or Thailand?

I absolutely love both destinations. However, Bali is an Island within Indonesia and Thailand is a whole country with various different kinds of attractive destinations in it. The better country will depend on what you want from your vacation.BaliIf you want to explore an amazing island with great beaches, water activities, luxury resorts, and opportunities for snorkeling, climbing volcanoes, etc, then I would suggest Bali. It’s called the Island of the Gods for a reason after all. It’s heaven on Earth.Furthermore, while you’re in Bali, you can also go island-hopping to the neighboring Gili Islands, Lembongan island, etc.Bali is also quite cheap. I spent 2 weeks there and only spent about $1000, all expenses included. If you want any tips on traveling to Bali, the visa process, costs involved, the accommodations, or anything else, you can read my Comprehensive Bali Travel Guide for First Timers.ThailandIf you’re considering Thailand, then there are three destinations that you can look at as a tourist — South Thailand (beaches, islands, etc); Bangkok and Pattaya; and North Thailand (mountain towns.)If you’re considering beaches and islands as a destination, then I’ve already mentioned Bali is better so you don’t need to bother with South Thailand, though some of the islands there are also amazing.North Thailand has some great destinations such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Pai. The latter of these is a quaint mountain town with hot springs, grand canyons, a lovely bamboo bridge, waterfalls, etc. You can visit this place. If you instead want to party hard all through the night and explore one of the most liberal cities in Asia, then your best bet is Bangkok. You can check out all the details about the flight, visa process, food, accommodation, etc, in my Bangkok Travel Guide. If you’re interested in the nightlife of Bangkok specifically, or if you’re visiting Bangkok as a queer person, you can also read my Queer Guide to Bangkok. So basically, there’s no straight answer to your question. However, I hope this helps you make up your mind about what you’re looking for!

Thailand or Indonesia in August?

Hi,

A few friends and I are thinking of traveling in south east asia in August.

Firstly, what would you recommend - we are thinking of either Thailand / Cambodia / Vietnam, or Indonesia.
We have looked into weather - it says Thailand is very rainy during this time - should this influence our decision? We are looking to spend at least a week on beaches. Do you think 1 month is enough time to visit Thailand/ Cambodia and Vietnam?
If we chose Indonesia, which areas of the country would you recommend / recommend flying into? We are very interested in going diving / nice beaches / a bit of trekking / jungle. We've heard Borneo is good for this, but how would you recommend getting from island to island? We are on a tight budget.

Thanks

Honeymoon in singapore, malaysia, thailand or bali, malaysia?

75,000 USD will get you all of the countries but 75,000 rupiahs will not get you far. So you have to specify what currency you are referring to.

If you prefer a romantic beach, Bali is the first choice. If you want a city, go to Singapore. If you want a country which shows you many aspects of Asia, Malaysia would be the choice. Shopping, go Thailand. If you like nature, Malaysia. If English speaking is important to you, skip Thailand. Budget wise, Singapore is the most expensive. So enjoy your honeymoon!

Holiday Bali or Phuket? ?

If the "we" means a group of women or couple women both Bali and Phuket are similar. Both are popular with women traveling alone or in groups because of the beaches and available gigolos. Bali has Kuta Cowboys and Phuket has rent-boys. If you are traveling as a couple - male and female - both cities are still popular with couples too. Many honeymooners travel to Phuket.

I personally think Thailand is better. When you are in Thailand do you intend to stay the entire time only in Phuket? Phuket is the most expensive city in Thailand if budget is a concern. All of Thailand is warm like summertime. You do not have to be at a beach to get some sunshine.

Popular cities to visit in Thailand include Bangkok and Chiang Mai. If you are spending a lot of money for your plane tickets why not see other places in Thailand? When you go back home you will probably have more friends ask you how was Bangkok than questions about Phuket. Hotels are cheaper in Bangkok than Phuket. Local transportation in Bangkok is much cheaper than Phuket too!

Here are some comments similar to your question. You can also ask your own questions. Such as when is the best time to visit, ask for hotel suggestions in your price range, check out scams and even how to use local transportation.

I personally think you will have more to do in Thailand than Indonesia. But if you intend to only sit on a beach your entire holiday then maybe just flip a coin! To me, Thailand is a safer to be in than Indonesia and the tourist infrastructure is better organized.

Have fun.
