How Is Us Army 25u Ait

In the US Army, does 25U have a nickname?

I know the nickname for 25L is the "Cable Dogs" because they do cable installation and whatnot and I was just curious if 25U has a nickname like that. I've looked all over the internet and haven't found anything yet so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks in advance!

Holding secondary MOS in the US Army?

So I'm shipping out soon to attend basic, AIT and eventually become a 25U.
What I was hoping is to either attain a secondary MOS or reclass to another entirely.

Beyond my hopes to reclass, I though it might be likely to hold another MOS that closely correlates with 25U, namely 25R.
I had originally hoped for 25V when I enlisted and will pursue a reclass to that MOS avidly, however I had the thought that holding 25R as a secondary MOS to 25U would likely be beneficial, in the event a reclass to 25V proves more difficult than projected.

Furthermore, reclassing at all would be hard considering 25U is seldom overmanned, which would mean reclassing from this job would be incredibly unlikely.

So, holding 25R as a 25U doesn't sound like such a bad compromise.

Can anyone with experience in this respect inform me on how one might go about holding a second MOS?
Thanks for all the help,
Michael.

How can you get stationed in Germany after joining the US Army?

Outside observation (I was in the US Air Force, not the Army): You'll go...eventually.The US Army really only has three overseas assignments outside of the combat zones (SW Asia): Korea, Japan (Camp Zama) and Germany. If you decide to try for a career in the US Army (It's their decision, not yours) then you need to fill in the correct boxes. One of those boxes will be an overseas assignment or two. That will almost certainly mean Korea or Germany or both. How long you stay there will depend upon how long you stay in the military, what your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty, your Army "job") is or will be and how long the unit will remain in Germany. You may find that once you get to Germany, the "chase" might have been better than the "kill."You might want to hurry if you are planning to join the military. The United States has been drawing down its forces in Europe since the end of the Cold War. Failing a major threat from Russia or a a Russian attack of a NATO ally (the Baltic States as an example) it's very likely that the new US defense posture will be preposition equipment in Europe and reducing the overall foot print of troops on the continent. That means the Germany "window" might be closing.
