How Liberal Do You Think The U.s.a. Is

Do you think this is a reasonable distinction between liberal and conservative thinking?

Not asking if you think it's the only difference, just if it makes sense.

Conservative: Prefers to accept the possibility of private charity failing to provide all assistance that is genuinely necessary and deserved, rather than indulge abusers of social welfare system and possibly encourage ever-increasing abuses.

Liberal: Willing to accept some abuse (and denies that this abuse will be ever-increasing), in order to provide for those who genuinely need and deserve assistance.

Do you think that the US will become a more progressive/liberal country or a more conservative country over the next decade? Why?

I believe more progressive/liberal.As I mentioned in a previous answer, the Democrats are always thinking about ‘Long Term Solutions’ like good ‘ol FDR….Social Security, Medicare and the creation of Social Security numbers for every citizen ect… The GOP only cares about the big companies and that's it. There is no such thing as ‘Trickle Down Economics’ from any of the top corporations that the GOP fight for over ‘We The People’! The Democrats are always fighting for ‘We The People’ and the GOP always fights back, because many of the DNC ideas for us Citizens interfere with the big companies agendas! It's a horrible merry-go-round with the GOP. They always claim that big tax breaks for the big corporations will trickle down to We The People, when in fact it never has and never will! The worst part about this constant campaign, is the fact that a huge percentage of Americans always fall for it.The [Progressives/Liberals/Democrats] ALWAYS think long term and always…yes always, for We The People! The Democrats also create productive and beneficial long term agreements with many countries that benefit everyone involved. The GOP takes major advantage of our allies and cause many riffs!Hopefully soon, all Americans will realize just how much the Democrats of all types are always fighting for ‘We The People’!

In 50 years, do you think the United States will be more liberal or conservative?

In 50 years, the United States will no longer be the United STATES. They will be islands of influence, each controlled by a multi-national corporation. General Electric may have parts of CT and MA. Goldman Sach will have Long Island. Bank of America will have half of NC, etc. You get the idea. The obligarchs are destroying social and governmental norms, and like the movie “Network”, are blatantly calling the shots. Political parties mean nothing, as both are subservient to and dependent on their power and largess.

Is USA a liberal country?

As America moves backwards in Time, it has become less liberal and as the corporatists create wedge issuses to divert attention from their takeover attempts, it will revert to a society not much changed from the 1800's.......sad really..

What do you think of this Liberal's defense of the Individual Mandate proving that the 10th Amendment is null?

and void regarding the Affordable Health Care Act. - I quoted the 10th Amendment which says that the Federal Government should not have the right to Mandate over States and this is the answer I got

"The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"
-- US Constitution, Article I, Section 8, Clause 1

US v Butler established that Congressional power to tax is broad and not subject to the limitations imposed by the other enumerated powers of the Congress. NFIB v Sebelius established that the "individual mandate" of the Affordable Care Act is a tax.

Your alleged contravention of the Tenth Amendment does not exist in reality.

Sounds like the Government is closing in to me. In actuality I am very familiar with that and know that in 2016 that penalty will be: In 2016, the first year the penalty is fully in place, those who don’t carry insurance will be assessed a $695 fine, per year, or 2.5 percent of their income, whichever is higher.

So you think that's okay huh? And I know you are all blaming the Conservatives. lol

How about that executive order on the HIV Virus in December. That will set a Dangerous precedent
EXECUTIVE ORDER

ACCELERATING IMPROVEMENTS IN HIV PREVENTION AND CARE IN THE UNITED STATES THROUGH THE HIV CARE CONTINUUM INITIATIVE

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to further strengthen the capacity of the Federal Government to effectively respond to the ongoing domestic HIV epidemic, it is hereby ordered as follows:

What is the most liberal city in America?

You're right, of course, that San Francisco is the most liberal city in America--though I think Seattle and Vancouver B.C., and maybe Portland, Oregon will join it in the next decade or two. And right now-- though more a town or "urban center" than a big, flashy city--Eugene, Oregon is even more liberal in some important regards (deference to the handicapped, participatory democracy, absence of Organized Crime) than San Francisco. But I'm with you--I left my heart in San Francisco.

What are the most liberal countries in Asia?

In terms of open-mindedness to other cultures, morals, etc. (much like what Western countries currently are.)

And also what are the least liberal countries in Asia? Countries that are conservative?

Do you think America should become more conservative or more liberal?

Considering how America is further to the right than the rest of the western world, I doubt any benefit would result from the USA becoming more conservative. It amazes me how so many Americans persist in clamoring for increased freedom, defined here in a libertarian sense of absence of constraint. Given how the Reagan Era represented an relentless assault on FDR’s New Deal, wouldn’t the past 40 years constitute an account of progress?Along with the UK, I think America is presently experiencing the negative consequences of endorsing libertarian economic and political philosophy the most in the western world. As I’ve written before, Trump’s presidency signifies the culmination and denouement of the Reagan Era. That many blue collar white male voters went from Obama to Trump represents how populism is a ramification of the pernicious effects of globalization, especially in how the decline of manufacturing in North America hasn’t been replaced by anything productive. Economic conservatives, one must remember, championed free trade for the past 30 years as well.In a political sense, one has gone from Reagan’s message that “ Government is the problem”, to a Trump presidency which amounts to an almost virtual abandonment of governance itself. Similarly, the victorious Brexit vote of 2 years ago is indicative of how the UK is currently suffering the death throes of Thatcherism. The rejection of the EU and reaction against immigration is further reflective of how Britain under a conservative government has expressed hostility toward modernity for better or worse. As with Reaganomics, Thatcherism destroyed manufacturing in Britain, and spawned the asinine idea that the UK could base its economy solely on banking. The person asking this question is correct in assuming that we’re at the end of a socioeconomic and political status-quo which has pervaded the western world for four decades. Brexit and Trump’s presidency represents an alternate avenue that’s based on animosity and cultural despair. Needless to say, one can hope that this isn’t the only path to the future.
