How Long After An Interview Should I Know I Did/didn

How long after an interview should I call back to find out if I got the position or not?

It is a couple of ways to do this. First of all, if they say that they would get back to you in 24 hours and did not. You need to call them within 48 hours. This is what you say, Tell them your name and tell this that you were calling to find out the status of your application process and remind them when you interviewed. Another way is the "thank you" card that I mention often. Many people do not do this because they think it is corny. But this is a way that you will not be forgotten. Send a thank you card thanking them for thier time and mention that if no position is avaliable for you at the moment that you hope that they keep you in mind for future positiions.

Someone said, never call. That is WRONG. ALWAYS call. The simple truth is in today's economy, competition for jobs is stiff. They need to see that you really want this job.

If they say that they have chosen another candidate, then so be it. If they do not say that. Wait one week and call them again. Call once each week until they either hire you or go with someone else.

Find out how long that they keep applications on file. If they went with someone else make sure that they know that you are open for other jobs. Then call every 2 weeks once until your application has expired.

Remember that they interviewed you and you are a person of interest. Now you have to show them that you really want this job.

****Remember ALL companies want to know that the person that they are hiring, really wants the job. They also want to feel that the person that they are hiring is going to be a vested employee. (Working for them for years to come) Employee turn around causes companies millions of dollars a year. Showing that this is something that you really want, looks better to any prospective employer***

How did you immediately know after a job interview that you didn’t get the job?

As well as good signs after a job interview, there are also bad job interview signs. Here are some classic signs which suggest you probably won’t get the job.1. The interview is shorter than expectedIf you’re told the interview will last 30 minutes but it only lasts 15, this is a negative interview sign. Equally, if the interviewer gives an excuse for cutting the interview short, it could mean they are not serious about hiring you.2. They seemed rushed at the endIf they want you for the job, they will probably finish by taking the time to listen to all your questions, introduce you to some people, and show you out of the building. If it ends abruptly, it’s not a good indication.3. They focus on a negative aspect of your resumeIf they ask a series of similar questions about a gap on your resume or something else, it shows they have concerns. There are resume formats you can use to avoid these problems.4. They repeat questionsRepeating a question shows they aren’t convinced by your original answer. If this happens a few times during the interview it suggests they were not too impressed.5. They don’t ask about your availabilityThis is one of the clearest interview signs you didn’t get the job. If they’re considering you, this is very basic information they need to know.If you know your job interview went badly, don’t worry. Keep positive, keep applying, and keep improving. Using attractive resume templates will help you to get noticed by more employers and get more interviews.

How can you tell if you didn't get the job after an interview?

They don’t make you an offer. They may or may not inform you if they are not making you an offer, but they usually will do so eventually; it might be a long, long time. I’ve had interviews that I thought must lead to offers that didn’t, and interviews that I thought would never lead to offers that did. I recall leaving an interview obsessing over a question I could have answered better, only to have a voicemail from the hiring manager when I got home, asking me to call back (and I got an offer). Usually, if you get a call back, that’s a sign you will get an offer, but that’s not guaranteed; a few years ago, I was fairly certain I’d get an offer I had very mixed feelings about, and after playing phone tag, I got the note that I wasn’t getting an offer after all. No rhyme or reason.

Do employers call back after interview?

I disagree with the other 2 people who answered. At this point there's no way to tell if you'll get the job or not. Many times employers have more applicants lined up for interviews and they want to wait to make their decision, but that doesn't mean you don't have a chance. If the end of the week comes and you don't receive a call you can call him and say you are still interested in the job and wonder if he's made a decision yet. That will let him know you are serious about working and could give you a better chance of getting the job. The ones not hired won't get a call.

Had a job interview at Forever 21, how long should I wait to hear back?

Definitely a week or 2 is a good time to wait before following up.

For the call, just mention that you are checking in to see where they are in their hiring process. Be sure to mention that you are still very interested in working there.

Most employers are slow to hire people, so don't worry too much.

A side note - you sent in a thank you note after the interview?

How long after a job interview should I wait before I give up?

As a current HR Mgr., my first question would be to you, is this your dream job or just a good job, but not really a long-term commitment? If it's your job of a lifetime, then you need to be a little more assertive in your attempts to contact the hiring manager. Don't use the phone, go in-person. It's alot harder to avoid you if you're waiting in the reception area.

Also, the hiring manager may be waiting for you to contact him after the 25th. So make sure you make every attempt possible to make contact. As far as the recruiter, you need to contact his/her direct supervisor and discuss the difficulties you have experienced with the recruiter. They are there to provide both you and the business where you interviewed staffing support. It doesn't sound like they are fulfilling their end of the deal. Good Luck!!

Just got back from a starbucks interview?

I just got back from a Starbucks job interview about fifteen minutes ago. The interview seemed to go well. She asked my availability, my preferences (mornings, days, evenings) and if I had any problem with the dress code among other things. I answered I'd prefer mornings, but I'm really available to do anything and that I had no problem whatsoever with the dress code. Anyway, the interview ended and she told me that she was interviewing some people tomorrow and some people next week and that that's when she'd be calling people back.

So basically, what does that mean? I've heard that when they tell you they'll call you, it means you didn't get the job. I'm not sure what to think.
