Nervous about taking the GED Test?

www.gedpractice.com
This is a great site that has practice test for all the subjects and is very similar to the actual test questions. I'm sure you are stronger in some areas than others, so spend your time on stuff you need to brush up on and not stuff you already know.

I know how you feel about being nervous. I took my GED after putting it off for way too long. It was so much easier than I thought. The worst part was waiting for the test results, but when I found out that I passed I was thrilled. One nice thing about the tests is that if you fail certain sections you can take them over without having to retake the whole test. Just relax. Get a good nights sleep before hand. Take your time to read each question. And if you don't pass on the first try, just retake them until you do. You will feel so much better once you have your GED. Good Luck!

My ged testing results say failure notice?

i havent seen their display, but there are two possibilities.

one is that they called the social studies 'history' and that you failed just that part. but thats probably me reaching for something more optimistic for you (history more likely just means your history of taking the test). more likely, it means all of them werent quite there and that you need to retake all of it.

I keep getting non-passing scores on GED pretests. Should I just give up?

I think your time expectation is too high. How can you expect to cram 12yrs of education into 1 month? So of course you are feeling frustrated. Your setting yourself up for failure by setting up unrealistic expectations for yourself. Are you studying alone? Where you live can you take parts of the test at a time, or do you have to take it all at once? Study subject by subject (don't move from one subject to the other until you have mastered that subject) ex. Math study and practice questions, then do online test over and over, look at the things you did wrong and go back and study those again, then more online test until you get at least a 90%, then move on to English repeat the process that you did to study math, when you get at least 90% in English then move on to your next subject, once you have aced all the subjects take the online comprehensive test (meaning test that includes everything/all the subjects you have learned on one test) to prepare yourself to go take that GED test. You probably should get some GED PREP help online or in person. They will help with some study tips and shortcuts to help you pass. Good luck you can do this. FYI I think most people pass within 3-4 months of intense studying.

A question about the GED test?

I am planning to take the GED test at a University on November 8th. On their website, it says that the current version of the test is expiring at the end of 2013 and that students need to take and pass the GED test before January 2014 or our scores will be expired. My question is, if I had to take the test on December 6th instead, would I still be able to pass and get my GED, since it takes 2-4 weeks to get your results, and there's a possibility that I wouldn't have my score by January 2, 2014? Or would my score expire since it says "your scores will expire if you do not finish and pass the test by January 2014." Sorry if this is confusing.

How long does it take to get a GED?

I got mine many years ago, so it may have changed. In fact, I’m sure there have been changes.I remember it being a long day of testing. Probably 5 or 6 hours. The reason for it being so long is that it covers an extremely wide set of knowledge and skills. To be fair, a test needs several questions for each learning target. Otherwise, one mistake could hide a lot of knowledge. For example, if I were testing someone for their entire math skill set, and only had one long division problem on the test. A student who is great at long division might miss that question. Maybe that student only makes a mistake once out of 200 long division problems, but that one was on my test. Since there is only one question on long division, that test shows a big fat ZERO for that student’s long division skills. Not fair to the student, and not useful to anybody relying on the test to make decisions about that student.Maybe you are wondering about the preparation time. Again, there is a huge span of knowledge being tested. A GED is the equivalent of graduating from high school. That theoretically means 12 years of prep. It is, by design, easier to go through school and graduate than to succeed at the GED. Of course, if you are taking the test, you probably have most or all of the knowledge and skills already. In my case, I had to take the test because non-academic factors prevented me from graduating. I did not study for the GED, other than making sure I was rested and had a good breakfast so I was ready to give it my best shot. The theory at the time was that there is so much material that there is no way to study for it. Now people do study for it. It makes sense to study at least a few areas where you need improvement. One thing to remember with testing is that the goal is not to trick you or make a fool of you, it is to accurately find out what your knowledge and skills are, usually with the goal of helping you fill in the gaps, or finding where your strengths are so you can expand on them. Test designers (if they are any good at it) are there to help you prove that you have knowledge and skills.

How long does it take to get GED scores online?

Standardized tests, like the GED, can take quite a long time to grade. Your best bet is to contact someone locally who helped you arrange for the test, such as the person who signed you up for the testing date, the person who supervises the center where you took the test, or someone in the central offices of the local school district who regularly deals with GED scores. One of those people will know what you should expect and how long you will need to wait before receiving your scores. Anyone on "Answers" who has no real experience in the matter, or who comes from a different area and doesn't face the same situation as you, will only be wild guessing.

When can I expect to get my GED results back?

I live in Missouri, and I took my GED a week or two ago and I'm wondering how long it might take to get the results back?

Anybody who took the GED, can you tell me how long it took you to get your results back?

Answers are greatly appreciated.
