Does Google delete old emails from my Gmail account automatically after a certain period of time?
NO! Unless they have been identified as SPAM or Trash.I am not aware of, and could not find, any official policy for FREE GMail accounts but I have found a couple folks described as ‘Google Experts’ commenting as follows:“Messages are saved in Gmail forever (unless you delete them, even accidentally). The only places automatically cleaned are Trash and Spam after about 30 days.”There are settings to control email and chat message storage available only to G Suite (Formerly Google Apps) administrators.
How can i get yahoo to NOT automatically delete my trash folder. I want to delete them manually always.?
Move them to another folder YOU create ... (You can even call it 'MY Trash'). Then you have copies just in case. We have absolutely no control over when Yahoo deletes the Trash. Copies might still be in Sent Mail if you have set that Option in your Profile. Save what you might need by moving them into a separate folder you create - they stay there until YOU decide to delete them, and you can delete many at one time too. NOW . . . ACT FAST! You have just posted all your e-mail addresses online for many spammer programs to harvest or create malicious attacks. You will get oodles of spam from now on. DELETE THIS QUESTION NOW! (No, I'm not yelling at you, just trying to save your addies.) If you let this question go to voting, these addresses will be search-able on the web forever. I'm offering advice, so I don't care about losing points for answering.

As has been mentioned, there is no delay - if you empty your trash. Cameron Crest gave good searches to find big emails and delete them. You need also to look at your Drive and Photos, as they share the same storage space in Google Apps, just like they do in a free Gmail account. Hi J, Only emails in the Spam and Trash folder are deleted automatically. Messages in your Inbox remain there until you choose to delete them, or move them to a different folder. Solution is here: I was facing exactly same problem as yours. I have sent a message wrong person and i wanted to delete it. But, if i delete that message then it will empty only my inbox but not recipient inbox. That means recipient will able to see that message.Solution 1: After sending the message report that message as spam. Most of the time it will not receive other person inbox folder.Solution 2: Deactive your facebook account for 3–4 hours.I will suggest follow both process if you have serious issue with that message. If you follow those 2 step then other person will not receive your message.

As others have said, Gmail does not do this - or not normally. Default behavior is for your sent items to be “archived”, with a “sent” label on them. So if you click on the sent label in the left hand column, or do a search, you should see all your sent mail. If you do not, then there are only a couple of possibilities. How long does Yahoo keep my emails in inbox?
I have my Yahoo account since early 2009, and I just scrolled down to the bottom of my inbox only to find out that the oldest email I have is from 1st July 2012. I know for a fact that I haven't deleted any of the older ones because I had quite valuable emails from that time period.
