My grandma and a cousin had this, and it was horriable but if you go to your doctor there is ways to help with this, your not alone and dont just take the pain..you will have to see what works for you..this is a horriable painful thing but sometimes its worse then other times..i wished my grandma wouldnt have had it..but i know its not making you feel any better so what i would do is talk to my doctor about steps i can take, or foods you can eat, or something to help you with having less side affect or even making it so you can deal with it

I pulled my back - how long until the pain goes away?

How long the pain lasts will depend on the severity of the strain and what you do to aggravate it while its healing. We often don't realize how we use our back in our day-to-day activities and simple movements, until we've injured something.

If the pain isn't getting better see your doctor. I injured my back years ago from lifting my dog. The cumulative effects of doing this for weeks ended up bringing me to my knees one morning as I tried to get out of bed. I spent 6 wks going to physical therapy because of it.

Don't mess around if it's not getting better. If it is improving, then it just may take a while but if it's seriously hampering your lifestyle, see your doc and get it on its way to healing faster.

How long does it take for an ear infection to go away?

Pain can quit within 24 hours with an antibiotic. Could be up to 2 weeks without an antibiotic.

See your doctor please.

Meanwhile, take 3 extra strength Tylenol... It may or may not be strong enough.

If it is your left ear hurting, lay on your Right ear. Put a hot water bottle on that Left ear as you fall asleep. Try to not roll over onto that left ear. If it is your right ear, do just the opposite.

Take a decongestant....Sudafed PE (or it's Generic) is great.
Take 2tablets every 4 hours (read the directions)

These will decongest your eustation tubes that run to your ears from your throat. They are what "pop" when you go up a big hill or ride in an airplane. These tubes equalize the pressure between your inner ear and where you are at any one point in time. When they are swollen nearly shut, they cannot "pop" and the pressure builds inside your inner ear and presses against the ear drum and it really hurts!

So decongest those tubes with Sudafed, take Tylenol, add heat and lay AWAY from the affected ear which will allow it to drain. These things should help if you have a cold in you ears.

Once again, if you have an ear infection, you really NEED an antibiotic. You will be much better and a day or two.

How long does it take to get over the pain when your dog dies?

had asked the question a couple of days ago if you go back with your dog when they are being put to sleep and I sure am glad I did. That same day when I got home from work my 14 year old cocker spaniel was not doing well. She had been diagnosed with lymphoma. I got her out and spent some time with her. You could wasn't quite as good as she was when we had left for work. We had an appt to go to and when we got back we found her in her cage barely hanging on to life. She was cold, having a hard time breathing, etc. Injust that short period of time it was a huge decline. I felt horrible that if I had known what was really happening I would have cancelled my appt. She had been sick for a month and I just didn't think she would turn for the worse that quickly. We rushed her to the emergency vet which when we got there we knew we were going to have to put her to sleep. My husband and I were both with her when they put her to sleep and I am so glad I was there. I stroked her and talked to her until she took her last breath. She was wagging her tail as I told her to go to the bridge it was going to be okay and she wouldn't be in any more pain and told her how much I loved her and thanked her for all the good times and all the love she gave us over the last 14 years. I followed all the advice I got and it worked. Now I need to know how long will it take to get over this void that I feel in my heart.

How long after a sprained ankle injury does the pain and swelling go away?

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

How long before the ringing in my ears go away?

There should not be any everlasting loss of listening to from one stay overall performance. What happens is the little hairs on your ears flatten that's what motives the listening to issues. they are going to stand lower back up. in case you have repeated exposure, at last the hairs can flatten for solid inflicting everlasting issues. purchase some solid earplugs and positioned on them once you bypass to shows or whenever you're around very loud noises. you would be wanting to locate ones with the optimal decibel risk-free practices. I continuously positioned on earplugs. I went to too many concert activities without them and had an incident on the telephone for the time of a thunder typhoon that screwed up my real ear. the different individual is right. don't sense embarrassment approximately them. a great number of human beings are making use of them.

When will the pain go away from losing a pet?? I have never lost anyone or anything before and it hurts bad!!!

I'm very sorry about Louie. I would be very sad too. Grieving is a different process for everyone. However, as the old adage goes "time heals everything". I lost my cat Sasha over 25 years ago and I still feel guilty once in a blue moon, even though I know she is long gone to heaven. She was 2 years old when she disappeared.

As mentioned, Louis will probably get hungry and make contact with some humans. I wouldn't worry about him too much. You could try, for a couple of weeks, putting his cage, with the door open and food and water in it, near where he escaped. It is a small chance, but, he may come back. And if he doesn't, don't blame yourself. Things happen for reasons. Fate has decided Louis' journey and you had nothing to do with it. You were a good friend to him.

If you ever decide to get another bird in the future, consider having a wing clipped permanently. That way you won't live in terror of leaving windows open again!

Take heart.

How long does pain last for dachshund back problems?

No way to know, each dog is different. It's a good sign that her leg is better, but usual crate rest can be up to 8 weeks. I'm sure you know the prednisone has to be tapered off gradually in that time, but I would keep this dog as still as possible for at least anothe rmonth and hope for the best.
Sometimes crate rest and drugs don't do the job and disc surgery is required, that's usually successful but costly.

I have 6 dachshunds and have fostered literally dozens, only my first (the only one I bought from a breeder) has ever had back issues and 2 times he was on crate rest, prednisone, muscle relaxants and Metacam for pain - worked both times and he's been fine for about 4 years now.

We've had several dogs in our rescue that did need surgery as the crate rest just didn't do it and they "went down", as in got lame - there's only a short window of opportunity when that happens, day or two, when the surgery has to be done if it is to succeed.

Keep your dog still another month, much as you can, and I hope he gets well again as my first dachshund has.

Note: Just to put this "known" problem with dachshunds in perspective --- as I've already said, I have fostered dozens of dachsies and have 6 of my own, out of all those, only ONE - the one my hubby bought at a flea market as a "present" for me - had back problems.
I say "had" because he has been fine for 4 years, so LOTS OF long spined dogs (corgis, bassetts, etc.) can have back problems, actually about any dog can. It is not all that common in dachsies, but it happens, nor is it an "ongoing" issue, it can be cured by crate rest or surgery, so please don't give "opinions" when you have neither experience or lots of knowledge of the breed, that's just silly and very unhelpful.
