How Long Does A Nitrous Oxide Kit Last On A Motorcycle

? putting nitrous on a motorcycle?

No, you dont have to. NOS is a bolt on performance item, but if used incorrectly can damage the motor if used excessively. Small shots wont hurt it.

Motorcycle Nitrous question?

I have a gsxr 1000 2004. i wana put nitrous on it. i have bought a basic nitrous kit "dry" only a 40 hp shot (bottle, jets, silinods, lines) , a purge kit, bottle warmer kit, a 2 window switch, and a power commander. I was gona have someone install the system for me then i found out they dint know what they was doing, so im gona do it with the help of the directions and then not use it til i get it dynoed and fine tuned by pro. I dont wana run into any unexpected costs so is there anything that i need that im forgetting? The dude that i was gona have install it said i needed another 300 dollar system that would hold more maps .......i have no clue wtf he is talkin about ....could be tryin to sham me....if you can think of anything that i really really need for such a small shot plz let me know so i dont go to get it dynoed and it not be ready. thz

How long does nitrous oxcide stay in your system?

Nitrous oxide stays in your system only minutes after you stop inhaling it.

It is a very insoluble gas, which means it does not accumulate anywhere in your body. That is why it works so fast.

I work with nitrous on a daily basis as an anesthesiologist. We monitor the gases that patients breathe out, and can watch the levels of nitrous decrease to zero very quickly (about 1-2 minutes) after we turn the gas off.

(It is important to breathe 100% oxygen for a few minutes after turning nitrous off, because the nitrous in the blood floods the lungs and decreases the percent of oxygen that is breathed in. Breathing less than 21% oxygen is unhealthy and can lead to serious problems.)

Would you ever put nitrous on a motorcycle?

I did it on my Hayabusa when I drag raced. It’s actually pretty easy. The hardest part is finding a place to mount the bottle. On a stretched bike, most will put it on the swing arm in front of the rear tire. They also make a small version you could put under the hump on the ‘Busa. On a stock motor you wouldn’t want to go more then a 40 or 50 shot. I think mine had a 40 shot. I mostly did bracket racing, so it wasn’t used that much. Still fun to hit the button and get an instant boost. I know guys with built bikes that put > 150 shot. I wouldn't really recommend it on a street bike. I know a guy that did and the bottle fell off under his rear tire. He was very lucky not to crash.

How come you can't use a dry shot of nitrous on a carb'd motorcycle?

Dry shots (Nitrous Only) are for use with fuel injected engines. When the shot is activated the ECM is tricked into injecting more fuel or part of the nitrous pressure is sent to the fuel regulator to boost injection pressure. Net result is the EFI system sends in more fuel that can be burned in the cylinder with the NO2. A carb'ed engine doesn't have either of these methods of boosting fuel available to it which is why it requires a wet system which uses a spray bar mounted in an adapter plate under the carb to inject additional fuel which is controlled by a solenoid valve.

The only reasonI can think of how a dry system would damage a motor cycle engine would be by causing a lean condition in the engine. Just adding NO2 dilutes the fuel air ratio and leans it out. Operating with a lean condition can cause burned valves. But I would think that it would take more than a couple of seconds to burn your valves. No matter, just injecting NO2 won't boost Hp. The extra Hp a NO2 system provides is from the ability to burn more fuel by the additional oxygen the NO2 provides.

Can i use nitrous oxide on my 4 stroke scooter?

Sure you can. You can do anything.

Will you have a reliable motor after adding Nitrous? No you won't.

A few shots of nitrous on that poor thing will turn it into shrapnel.

What does nitrous oxide do to increase blazing speed of a racing car? Do Indian cars have N2O equipments to boost speed or is it available in India?

Thanks for A2A.Nitrous Oxide commonly called N2O consists of both Nitrogen and Oxygen. So when N2O is injected into the combustion chamber, more oxygen is available compared to ordinary air, and thus more efficient will be the combustion stroke as oxygen assists greater combustion. Nitrous oxide has another effect that improves performance even more. When it vaporizes, nitrous oxide provides a significant cooling effect on the intake air. When you reduce the intake air temperature, you increase the air's density, and this provides even more oxygen inside the cylinder. During compression stroke the oxygen-nitrogen bond brakes and the oxygen atom is isolated, it is freed up to be used in combustion. It combines with the additional fuel to create extra heat and pressure, increasing the amount of power the engine generates. Thus, NOS allows more fuel to be burned inside the cylinder compared to ordinary air (which contains only ~21% of oxygen) and thus producing greater power output.N20 is bulkier than ordinary air,so it's quantity is limited and only provides boost for a short time. An N2O setup is shown below >>>Nitros are legalised in india but you need to get your big pockets ready for that.Regards Adhi. :-)

Is it legal to install nitrous oxide on my car in Orlando, Florida?

Okay, here's what I found out. Florida State statute 877.111 subsection 4 states ”(4) Any person who knowingly distributes, sells, purchases, transfers, or possesses more than 16 grams of nitrous oxide commits a felony of the third degree which shall be known as unlawful distribution of nitrous oxide, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. For purposes of this subsection, in addition to proving by any other means that nitrous oxide was knowingly possessed, distributed, sold, purchased, or transferred, proof that any person discharged, or aided another in discharging, nitrous oxide to inflate a balloon or any other object suitable for subsequent inhalation creates an inference of the person’s knowledge that the nitrous oxide’s use was for an unlawful purpose. This subsection does not apply to the possession and use of nitrous oxide as part of the care and treatment of a disease or injury by a practitioner licensed under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 464, chapter 466, or chapter 474; as a food processing propellant; as a semiconductor oxidizer; as an analytical chemistry oxidizer in atomic absorption spectrometry; in the production of chemicals used to inflate airbags; as an oxidizer for chemical production, combustion, or jet propulsion; or as a motor vehicle induction additive when mixed with sulphur dioxide.”So from my minimal understanding, yes it is legal in some parts of the state although county laws may apply.

Are NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) illegal in Texas?

for what i know is that NOS is illegal in all states for street use. you can get away with having it, and having it connected, but you are not allowed to use it while driving on the public road....

I think. suggest you contact your local tuner or police department.

What does it mean to ‘purge’ in a Nitrous boosted vehicle?

I may be mistaken here…But to purge is to vent the gaseous part of the nitrous oxide to atmosphere, as to use the liquid part of the n20.This usually results in a very impressive blast of vapour being vented upward from the vehicle structure.Something like this..Hope this helps,S.
