How long does BAH take to kick in after marriage and so you receive the back pay for waiting?
My fiancé and I will be getting married soon and I was wondering how long after paperwork is finished does my BAH take to kick in and do I get the back pay, someone told me I do. Also does the Navy pay for her items to be moved to my location ie. furniture, car and other things of that nature?
How long does it take to get pcs orders amended?
Myself and my boyfriend are planning to get married via courthouse while he is on leave and also add him to our son's birth certificate which he is only a few months so we still have time. He is right now stationed in Korea and has pcs orders to Germany next year January and will be home in November. I was wondering from the time we get married and adding him to our son's birth certificate will it take long for him to get his orders amended to where we all can go with him. I know we have to be added to DEERS and other things but can someone help me with the process.

My hubby put in a request for orders last week, but they're not in yet. How long does it generally take to get them thru AKO (the only place we've been told they'll come)? We can't plan our move, get housing, nothing without the orders and no one has been able to give my husband any information about how long it'll take. Thanks!
How long does it take to get Army orders amended?
For one, he cannot get amended in hindsight...if not married at time of PCS, then it cannot be changed. HOWEVER, once you do get married, you can have the spouse move to your current location at government expense once he/she is entered into DEERs (dependent worksheet), depending on the gaining unit/station policy. If worse comes to worse, can always get married, get them entered into the system, move them at personal expense, and then claim all moving expenses (including airfare) on your taxes. Cannot move with him, but can move shortly after. Personally, to make the process easy, see if your local court system will allow marriage via proxy, sign all the paperwork to become legally married, get all the paperwork for dependent status put into DEERS, THEN have the orders amended (and have the public/traditional marriage as planned). To be honest, could be tricky with the amount of time remaining. Best bet-talk to the gaining unit, and see what the command suggests...likely they will suggest option 1 above (travel after him). Does it cost a US army soldier anything to take leave while deployed?
Let me guess: You, or someone close to you, is romantically engaged with someone who contacted you/your friend online. This person is claiming to be serving with the US Army somewhere, and wants to go on leave to visit you/your friend, but need you to cover costs associated with getting leave, possibly also travel costs back to the “normal world”. You’ve never actually met this guy face to face, but you may have spoken on the phone. How long does it take to get leave approved in the U.S. Army?
There are a million answers to this question and varies from unit to unit, job to job and reason for leave. There's block leave, emergency leave, mid tour leaves, PCS leave, regular leave and deployment rotation / R&R leave. All have different time frames from a few hours to a month. In my experience I never had a leave take more than a few weeks to approve unless it was just being denied and resubmitted because it interfered with either major training or deployment. Oh and there is the small matter of actually having leave days aquired and the means to travel.As 1SG in Korea I once got a soldier's emergency leave approved while taking the soldier to the Airport in a cab. (That's called taking care of your troops)
How long after army basic training do you get stationed (Army infantry)?
How long after army infantry AIT training do you get stationed - How long after AIT does My fiance get before he have to be at my first assignment. Fiance In Basic now will be done April 13, 2013 then he starts AIT (infantry) Want to know how long after or during AIT does it take to know his first assignment. We are getting married on May 20th He graduation is May 17th. We are expecting and i just want to find us a home now while he still doing training. How do you amend army orders?
Go visit your local Army Post that has a Processing Center where they would issue orders and take your orders and marriage certificate so that they can amend orders. IF those orders are dependent restricted as it is for school you will have to wait to get the orders that assign him to his Permanent Duty Station. But you must get married in transit to that location not after or you can not have them amended. Congrats and good luck
