How Long Does It Take You To Mix A Song

How long does it take to record a song (band)?

If you're good performers and all know your parts, are well-rehearsed and prepared then you can do it in four hours. Back in the days before multitracks you had no choice but to record everything at once. Some people still prefer it that way.

Studio time is expensive so be professional and frugal. Be completely prepared. Know exactly what you are there to do and make sure everyone knows their parts. Rehearse as much as you can before you go in.

Make sure your equipment is in working order. Change your strings, make sure cables work, bring extra batteries, etc. Some studios will have equipment for you to use if yours isn't sufficient.

Listen to your engineer/producer/whatever you might have there. The guy behind the board knows how to make you sound good (hopefully!). He's probably recorded bands like yours before so take any constructive criticism you get. It is your music but an unbiased ear can be just what you need.

You should have plenty of time to make up a dance! If you just make it up like tomorrow then you should have time to practice it and memorize it! And if you mess up o well! you came out and did your best.If you forget or dont have time just listen to the music and get some ideas of what you might want to do then just free style!

How long does an experiance producer take to mix a song?

It depends on the tracks. If the band is good, then only minimal editing needed, that seriously saves a lot of time.If the recording engineer is good, the tracks are clean, sounds great and punchy, then the mixing engineer doesn't have to do a lot of technicalities in bringing the track to live (or to sit nicely and with authority in the mix). Which again saves a lot of time.If the arranger (or producer) have good knowledge with sound design, and have a good mix notes, then each instruments sits in the right place, no conflicting tracks since they have their clear role and holds their own weight, then the enigner doesn't have to meticulously listen to each track and comparing them to judge which tracks needs to stand out and which ones can be sacrificed (muted, or turned the level way way down), then it saves quite some time. With these conditions met, then mixing doesn't take very long, and it's a pure joy creative process. A couple of hours or a bit more will be enough. On the contrary, if all above conditions are not met, then the process an take from a few days to a couple of weeks or more. And another thing, if the song or performance is, well, uninspiring, then the engineer might deal with it while being uninspired too, and when it happens then at the first obstacle either he will set aside and mix later, or send the stuff back and ask for a better take.

How Long does it take for a pro rapper to make a song from scratch?

Writing could take anywhere from under an hour to a few days it really depends on the rapper. Normally though a rapper will have his verses all good within 3-5 hours...recording usually would take only an hour or so depending how well a rapper can do his sh*t. Mixing takes a few more hours...in reality a rapper could release a dope proper song in less than a day.

How long does it take to record 1 song in the studio? I already bought the beat and have my rap ready to go.

Peter Samples thanks for your request. This depends. It should take five to ten minutes for all your takes.I don’t recommend a professional studio addiction. What do I mean by that? You go from professional studio to professional studio. You only record in a professional studio. You put the studio over everything else in life. Been there. Done that.Based on years and years of recording on all levels, I recommend you spend no more than two hours in a professional studio. If you’re ready and it sounds like you are, have the engineer spend most of your time in the studio doing the mixing and mastering. If you can do all your verses and your chorus in one take, you’re golden. That only happened to me once with probably my best recorded song ever. The whole song took less than ten minutes. I probably took 5 to record. Mixing and mastering was the other 50 minutes.

How long its take for rapper to make a song?

Anywhere from 30 minutes to a month or more.

How long does it take you to produce one full song properly?

Umm…It really depends. But normally for the creative process like writing melodies, chords, vocals & rough arrangement it takes me about 4–5 hours. After the creative part, comes sound selection. Sometimes I use presets or sometimes I design sounds on my own. It takes me about 1–2 hours. If I’m satisfied about the rough arrangement of the song then I start mixing it. Cutting of low end if the high instruments, compressing the volume, distorting bass & other mixing stuff takes me about another 4–5 hours to do.Then mastering (which is something I’m still weak at) takes me 2–3 hours more. But music is something I do part time. So I can’t do all of this in one day. So it takes me about 2–3 days to complete a song. Then I test it in different speaker systems (beacuse final mix should sound good in every sound system). If I found some flaw, I go back and check & correct it.All this is really an ideal case, but in realuty sometimes vocalist are late to recording sessions. Sometimes in my creative process, I hang for no inspiration. Sometimes, I forget to save my project which I really regret later. So it really depends on all these. But most of the time it’s completed (considered to be released) in about couple of weeks or so.This is my flow of working. Diffrent producers have diffrent work flows.Hope this helped. Thanks of asking a question in my Music production Question session. I really appreciate it.Aaditya.
