How Long Is You Tattoo Supposed To Be Raised

How long do tattoos take to heal?

“How long do tattoos take to heal?”Just the tattoos or the skin? Most answers here talk about the tattoo healing in 2–3 weeks, and they’re right, but you need to understand that a healed tattoo doesn’t mean the skin is fully healed and back to normal. While you can have several sessions within three weeks, the skin might not be fully healed. If you take good care of your healing tattoo and follow the instructions of your tattoo artist, your skin might be back to normal in six weeks. Of course, you will feel like everything is healed up when the scabbing phase is over, but some tattoos don’t even scab. I have a month old and a nine day old tattoo right now.The month old tattoo didn’t scab at all and healed incredibly quickly, but if you run that arm under a hot tap, you can still feel the skin is more sensitive than the same skin next to the tattoo. And if you close your eyes and run your fingers over the tattoo, you can still feel some parts of the tattoo as ‘raised skin’.Fresh:One month later:So, a tattoo itself is healed and presentable mostly in 2–3 weeks (depending on size, ink, depth of the tattoo, density and your general health), but the skin might take 6 weeks or longer to become the same as it was before the tattoo.

How long for a Raised Tattoo?

Tattoos should not stay raised after they are healed unless that was the original intention. Usually if one does stay raised after being fully healed it is not because of using too big of a needle but because of the artist being "heavy handed", or digging in, which leaves more scar tissue, also it could just be because of your body's way of healing

. Out of my 12, I have one that has 2 raised spots in it and those 2 spots are where my artist really pounded the ink in me...I'm really pale, and what is raised is the white in the eyes of one of my dragons. The one on my back has a tendency to become raised when I'm cold, but most of my scars (which is what a tattoo is) does that when I'm cold anyways.

Why is my tattoo still raised after so long?

Like stated above, you probably went to a sucky tattoo artist. Do more research next time. It will be more rewarding. :) Hope your tattoo turns out okay.
I use Rocco's Old School Tattoo Balm on all of my old and new tattoo's.
It works great. Heals my new tattoo's nicely, keeps them moisturized and protected.
And still lets air pass through unlike Vaseline. Also makes my old tattoo's look new

How long do you have to wait to get a tattoo shaded?

It's not unusual to get a tattoo in several sessions especially a large piece. It depends completely on your body and your pain tolerance. My first tattoo was done in an 8 hour then a 2 hour session to complete the color. By the time I got to hour 8 I was too squirmy for my artist to comfortably finish it so I came back to make sure the color would hold. Personally, I waited three weeks to go back. You want it healed so that it doesn't damage the outline, true, but you also want some distance in between sessions because your artist WILL touch the outline while doing the color and it WILL hurt like hell. If it's still scabbing it'll damage the outline, but realistically the thought of getting a tattoo on top of a healed tattoo (which is essentially what you're doing) is enough to make me wanna wait as long as possible.  Ouch!

Will my tattoo always be raised?

Halfway through the healing process it will most likely start to itch. It is completely normal, and everyone reacts different in the healing process. Scabbing is a sign of healing but do not pick the scabs, let them heal on their own because you could risk damaging the art and removing the ink.
When the tattoo has healed the skin will become flat and you wont be able to feel it. It is just inflammation or swelling. It is just like getting a cut, it swells for the first little while.

Is it normal for my tattoo to FEEL RAISED?

mine is two years old and it is still raised too, but i never worried about it, because it doesn't hurt or anything... but i am assuming it is just scar tissue.
if you are really really worried, then maybe you should check it out, but if not, then i wouldn't freak out about it...

Why can't you have a tattoo over a raised birthmark?

There's several reasons. The tissue is different and more leatherlike than regiular skin. It resists the needle, and doesn't hold ink well. Even if it did hold ink, the color would b distorted. There's othere reasons I'm sure but those r the ones that come to mind.

What i'd do? Figure out a design that'd incorporate the mole's appearance into it. That'll effectively make the mole invisible.
