Anyone is electable. I like some of what Rick Perry espouses, but my brother who lives in Texas and has for most of his life hates him. He dislikes something he did as governor relative to education. I don't know what that is, and I don't care. My brother is a closet Democrat and he and I differ widely on many issues. He and his wife approve of Obamacare, but you know what, he doesn't have cable TV. He is extremely tight with his money and if it isn't on TV available by antennae, he doesn't see it. I think Rick Perry has some good ideas but I don't think he will be the Republican candidate for the Presidency. Who will? Hell if I know, but they had better get their shit together or the "bobble head with the Howdy Doody grin in the pant suit" will be a serious threat, and god help us all if that comes to pass. Will Rick Perry try to abolish the Department of Energy as the secretary of energy?
Well I guess he would have to fire himself to reduce the size of the federal government. That’s something every good republican claims to be in favor of. Perry is going to head up the Department of Energy, for a little while anyway. He has the qualifications, he was governor of the largest energy producing state and is on very good terms with the oil and gas industry, to say the least. He had a senior moment during that debate and forgot that the DOE was one of the departments he wanted to eliminate. He never really excelled at public speaking. Trump's cabinet picks almost make it seem like he's forming an anti-cabinet, which I suppose is exactly what he has in mind. Perry was a good governor for Texas, let's see how long he takes to work himself out of a job
