How Long Will Caffeine Withdrawals Last

How long do caffeine withdrawal symptoms last?

Congrats on your attempt to quit drinking coffee. I quit almost a year ago. I drank 5-7 cups a day & suffered withdrawal for 3 weeks, with it getting less severe as time went on. I started taking two products from a company called Reliv & it changed my life. Reliv provide me the energy I craved from coffee but never received. Reliv is an nutritional product which has many positive side effects like providing alertness & energy. It isn't a stimulant, so you don't receive a burst of energy that fades; it actually provides your body the nutrients it lacked & therefore you have many great health benefits. If your interested in hearing more about how this changed my life please contact me.

How long do caffeine withdrawal headaches last?

You need to drink water, especially if you consume caffeine. It will help rehydrate you.
Remember that the reason certain headache meds include caffeine is because it dilates your blood vessels that get constricted in a headache, making it better.
I hope this helps.

How long do caffeine withdrawal headaches last?

I think it can be different for everyone. It really depends on the amount of caffeine you were consuming daily. The larger the consumption, I would think the longer it would take to leave your body completely w/ no residual effects, in this case being your headaches.

From personal experience, and I've done this many times as I was pregnant, it can take up to two full weeks before becoming pain free. I always was quite the caffeine hog, so my withdrawal headaches were bad and frequent.

Instead of cutting yourself off cold turkey, try weaning yourself off. Caffeine is a drug, and like any other drug you would want to wean off to ease the side effects on your body. This way your body is steadily becoming use to less and less caffeine daily and eventually you can stop all together.

I believe your headaches would stop as the weaning process reaches it's end. So, don't suffer. Have a *bit* of caffeine if you have a headache and try to wean yourself down. You won't be able to be effective in your daily life if you're in pain.

Good luck!

Have You Ever Had CAFFEINE WITHDRAWALS?

I did when I stopped everything cold turkey. You're not supposed to do that. Slowly ween yourself off and you won't be getting those headaches.

How long does a caffeine withdrawal headache last?

When I do the caffeine kick its usually day 3 that gets me the worst. Then just a gradual ache for 2 days after. Good luck and hang in there.

What are the symptoms of caffeine withdrawal? How long does it last?

Caffeine has a half life of 12 hours, 1 cup of coffee.  Even if you do not notice the effects, it is still in you system.  Withdrawal means the body is returning to it's natural state before the caffeine.  Headaches are a common and probably the most difficult symptom to deal with.  Feeling tired, irritable, maybe aches, slightly if not greatly lethargic.  The range of symptoms can depend upon the length of use and the individual's health.  The first couple of days is the roughest, up to seven days to balance your system.  Again this depends on your health and what you do to facilitate returning to normal.

Can caffeine withdrawal be fatal?

Theoretically.Caffeine, including withdrawal symptoms from previous use, can have significant cardiovascular effects. In highly exceptional circumstances, these could be so severe as to lead to death. I know of no reported cases, and it is very unlikely—it probably requires a ‘perfect storm’ of convergent factors. Normally, one would not consider it a realistic possibility if there were no underlying medical problems.Risk factors that are not pre-existing medical conditions may be relevant, such as strenuous exercise, extreme emotional stress, poor lifestyle/self-care, and unusually high and protracted caffeine usage preceding a cold turkey cessation. Pre-existing medical issues can be a much greater factor of influence, but death would then be an aggravation of those issues. Some withdrawal effects may also, in highly unlikely circumstances, potentially lead to death more indirectly. For some examples: severe neuropsychological effects, such as those to do with mood or awareness, and pain or disorientation that can lead to falls or accidents. As with other withdrawal symptoms, newborns, the elderly, and patients in otherwise vulnerable positions may be at higher risk. So, can it from a mechanical standpoint? Pretty much, if we consider the most radical potential. Can it statistically? I haven’t seen anything registered so far. Even something immensely uncommon, like 1 in 10 billion, is still possible”, but whether we’d hear about it and understand exactly why it happened is another matter. Because it could at least make sense from a biological standpoint, I would give a firm “yes” to this question. I don’t imagine seeing many documented cases, though.

How long can withdrawal from a heavy caffeine addiction last?

I quit cold turkey over seven years ago and have stayed clean since. For 3 days it was the worst headache I've ever had, followed by 3 weeks or so of intense cravings. It took five years before I stopped having impulses to imbibe. My motivation for stopping was strong. I had accidentally figured out that caffeine was responsible for my life long mood swings. I don't know if I would have had the strength to quit without that knowledge backing up the decision. I seriously loved coffee and was drinking about 2-3 large cups a day.In my book any habit that feels great but kicks you in the ass if you stop doing it needs to be ended. Being addicted to anything sucks.
