It's NOT about eating less, it's about eating right.
The walking is fine, but if you want to lose weight quicker, run.

I'm going to give you a weekly schedule of what you should do and what you should eat.

Monday
Eat 5 meals, 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3 pm. no fats, no carbs, at all, this means potatoes, bananas, bread, pasta. PROHIBITED. eat veggies, and fish/beef/chicken in EVERY meal. Chicken in the morning? YES! why not. SMALL PORTIONS!!!
Jog/Run at least 10 min. w/out stopping.

Tuesday
Same eating schedule
do 4, 40 yard sprints, 2, 20 yard sprints (as fast as u can), rest 1 minute in between each sprint.

Wednesday
Same eating schedule
do some squats without weights. bend your knees, and jump as high as you can. So what this means is go low, and explode up. 3 sets of 20

Thursday
Same eating schedule
Jog/Run 20 min. w/out stopping

Friday
Same eating schedule
Same SPRINT routine

Saturday
Same eating schedule
Same SQUAT routine

Sunday
Eat what you want, YES! anything you want, but eat 5 meals, and small portions! DONT FORGET!
Day off-No workout.

With this I lost about 80 pounds in 11 months, so it should work. This will make you slim down a bunch, and quickly, while toning you up. But if you want to tone further, for example the "love handles" and the "belly", then add 3 sets of 20 crunches to your Exercise routine DAILY.

Awesome.If you do 30 minutes of Cardio you'll burn around 300 calories depending on age and weight.That means you can eat 1,800 calories not starving yourself and still end up with 1,500 a day, because you burnt 300 at the gym or whatever cardiovascular activity you picked.Consuming Protein helps with speeding the metabolism which helps burn fat, and for you not to loose muscle when exercising. .One thing that works for me is: before I eat, I drink a large glass of water, then if I'm still hungry, I won't eat as much as I would have.

It's better to eat 5-6 small meals than 2 or 3 regular meals each day.

1 pound = 3500 calories.

If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.

ie, if you eat 2000 calories per day and burn 2500, you will lose 1 pound every week.

the average person burns 1000-1500 calories per day, just being alive.

power walking can burn 200-500 calories per hour.
exercise bike can burn 200-600 calories per hour.
swimming can burn 100-800 calories per hour.
jogging/running can burn 300-1200 calories per hour.

Also, try not to eat within 3-4 hours of going to sleep.

when trying to lose weight, very important to drink lots and lots of water ! ! !
You should drink at least 10 glasses per day, like 1 glass every hour !

This helps your body get rid of the fat when you are burning calories.

Normally how long does it take to lose 30 pounds?

i started doing the exact same things that you did, stopped drinking soda and eating junk food, increased my water intake, started exercising (about an hour 5 times a week) and also stopped eating late at night. i started all of this last september, and i have now successfully lost 35 lbs., so it took me about 6 months. that's just my personal experience, though. another recommendation, eat your carbs earlier in the day, and your protiens and vegetables later in the day, since it takes longer for your body to metabolize carbs, and you will need protien to help repair your muscels once you start working out. and don't cut out breakfast, it helps jump start your metabolism and burn more calories throughout the day. good luck!
