How Long Will It Take To Achieve A 300lbs Bench-press

How soon will it take me to lift 315 pounds on the bench press? Details are in the comments

Key points/rough timeline from the comment:Just started lifting “seriously” about 4 months ago1RM = ???I also wonder what lifting “seriously” means; I know one elite powerlifter who claims he’s only been powerlifting for two years, because he doesn’t count the 5+ years he spent on starting strength and bro-split style programs. He squatted >2x bodyweight and deadlifted >2.5x bodyweight before he started “seriously” lifting according to himself. Previous lifting experience, even if it seemed unorganized or inefficient according to what you know now, still puts you ahead of the curve.2 months ago 1RM = 2255–10lbs every two weeks linear progression1 week ago 1RM = 260~7 weeks removed from previous 225lb 1RM = average gain of 5lbs per weekToday 2RM = 275Projected 1RM ~=280–285 (EXRX 1RM calculator)approximate 15–20lb progression in 1 week is significantly higher than normal (3–4x average weekly progression)22 years old, 165lb (~74.5kg), height unknownLet’s conservatively estimate your current 1RM at 280 (since you said you “barely” got two reps). That places you 35lbs short of your target. Prior to this week, it took you 7 weeks to progress 35lbs, so that would seem to be the absolute shortest time to reach this next milestone.Setting a big PR is a nice victory, but your previous training history over a seven-week period is much more likely to be indicative. It’s also unclear how long you can sustain linear performance with an average of 5lbs per week; obviously, if you were able to sustain that rate of growth for an additional year (+260lbs), you would be close to setting a world record - so intuitively it’s clear that it will slow down at some point. Without knowing anything about your genetic potential, we don’t know when that will happen. But I’d expect you could get to 315 before seeing any significant plateau.2 months would be an extremely aggressive timeline, but theoretically doable. I would target to reach 315 in three months, which would still be good progress, but also gives you some margin for error. At your previous rate of progression this gives you room for 2–3 “off” weeks without a new PR.Finally, you should definitely let us know when you get it. I’m three years older than you, similar body weight, and wish I had been anywhere close to where you are at 22. So whatever it is you’re doing, keep up the good work!

How long will it take me to bench 300?

Have fat free protein shakes and you'll bench press 500 lmfao. Good luck

I can bench 300 lbs, are you ladies impressed?

i wouldnt say impressed like "oh... since he can bench that much he's sooo sexy now" type thing.. its like a "good for you" type thing....

my fiance can bench 300....... some girls gooo and gaaa over it, but it doesnt faze me... ive never been one to be impressed by that type of thing anyways.

How much is my bench press worth?

just keep it at $250 because someone will make you a lower offer anyway if they want it and don't want to pay $250. also, already have in your head the least amount of money you would take for it in case someone offers you less.
no one could buy it all new for $250. if you haven't you should post what it would all cost new.
you might have to wait a few weeks until the person who is looking for what you have finds the ad.
repost it again next week.
finding a new pin would help with the sale i think.

What's more impressive, a 300 lb bench press or a 500 lb deadlift?

I can’t really say for certain if there’s a correct answer to this question but here’s my experienceIt took me slightly longer to get to a 500 pound deadlift than it did to get to a 300 pound benchBUTprogress from that point on, has been slower on the bench. My current best on bench press is 385 poundsMy current best deadlift is 640 pounds. So an 85 pound improvement versus a 140 pound improvement over roughly similar period of time. The reason is pretty simple: the deadlift is the more compound movement and recruits a higher volume of muscle…so it has more weight potential than the bench press.640 deadlift, this came up pretty easily and was my third attempt after an entire powerlifting meet. I’m confident that I could pull close to 700 if I came in fresh. There’s video of the pull on my Instagram if you’re interested. There’s also video of the 385 bench, which was significantly harder than the 640 deadlift.Follow me on Instagram for more content and help at Joe.Lifts.Bro
