How Long Will My Gtx 690 Last

Will my FX-8150 bottleneck my gtx 690 much?

My former computer runned a AMD motherboard (that's why I did not buy i5 or i7) so I bought a 8150 together with a 690. I was thinking of OC my 8150 to about 4.5Ghz, will it make my 690 get less bottlenecked if I do that? I cannot afford to upgrade to intel at the moment so Im kind of stuck with amd for a while more

Will a GTX 690 fit in a Mid Tower?

The 410 Phantom can accommodate graphics cards as long as 30.5 cm long without an HDD cage fan , and 29cm with an HDD cage fan . the GTX 690 is 27 cm long , which means you should be fine either way
Good luck , and that will be a beast of a machine !

Installing my gtx 690?

i had install it perfectly on my motherboard but the promlem is with the pci e power connectors!!

i am missing my 2x 8pin for my gtx 690 i can't find it.... i had only one 6pin for my old gpu

but i know that my psu which is Thermaltake toughpower 1000w has 3x 8pin pci e power

plus on gtx 690 box they give my 2x 8pin to 6pin but the problem is that they are too short to plug it to the psu along the gtx 690

any suggestions ?

Why is my GTX 690 system crashing ONLY during games?

Hi Malcolm
the problem when running high end cards such as the GX690 is they draw a significant amount of power, and this is more relevant when gaming
but what concerns me is the unusual wattage of your psu ..... the only psu i know that delivers 1050w is a "alphacool" branded psu ... and if this is the case then these psu,s are not the best for running high end gpu,s like yours
another factor to consider is the amps on the +12v rail(s) .... and the GTX690 should have at least 45A total on the +12v rail(s) ... this can be on a single +12v rail or multiple rails as long as it totals 45A !
firstly i would try running your GTX690 on another pc with a 650w psu ( or higher ) preferably a corsair, seasonic or ocz ( as these are very reliable ) .... and i would also try using a alternative 6pin or 8pin pci-e power connector ( this cancels out any problems with your current pci-e power connectors )
however theres a very good chance the issue is driver related ..... all NVidia drivers from 314.22 onwards have been plagued with problems .... im still using the 314.22 release as any other causes lock ups, freezes and other problems ...
so i want you to uninstall your current drivers and then download the 314.22 whql driver from http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverR... ... then during the driver installation make sure you select the custom installation and tick the box marked "clean install"
this will remove "all" your previous driver files and components and will install a completely fresh NVidia driver ..... and once the driver installation is complete restart your pc
also don't install the "GeForce experience " ( untick the box during installation ) ... this is one of the worst things NVidia have ever done and some users have experienced problems caused by the GFE
you only need to read the NVidia forums ( drivers catergory ) at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic... to see how many others are experiencing the same problems ..... i look on there most days and the amount of NVidia owners who are having driver problems is mind boggling !
in summary the psu could be the problem, however personally i would install the 314.22 driver and see the results .. you may be surprised
i hope this helps Malcolm ... any questions let me know

GTX 690 on ASUS P8Z77-V LX is it compatible ?

All GPU brands are compatible with motherboards that has at least a 2.0 x16 PCIe slot. The newer 3.0 x16 PCIe fully works with 2.0. Yes, the GTX 690 will work on the ASUS motherboard, but SLI -- 2 or more GTXs -- will not. Only AMD CrossFire GPUs will work on that motherboard.

In 2018, what CPU should I pair with my 2 GTX 690?

What is your budget. Do you have anything lying around? Are you looking to upgrade to the newest stuff? If you have an old computer with a lga 775 socket, grab a q6600 or qx6700 off ebay for $15, and a decent cooler for $20–25 that will follow you through upgrades. Upgrade that DDR2 ram to 8gb (another $20, or $40 if DDR3 as your comp should have 2–4GB already), and you’re set.If you just want the best “budget option,” grab an i5–8400 and a suitable H series motherboard and some basic Ram and you’ll be set. The i5–8400 is the undoubted king for gaming at a price/performance ratio. If you just want the best and will definitely replace your graphics cards soon, get an 8700k with an appropriate z series motherboard.

How soon will games be released that require better graphics cards than NVIDIA GTX 960m?

I think we need to set a benchmark here;Require better than a 960m? Don’t stress, the laptop will die from age before that happens.Should be run on better for user enjoyment however is a whole other ball game. Do you care if your frame rate drops a bit here and there? Do you play massive games like Battlefield 1? Do you want to be able to run all your games on the “high” graphics setting? If you answered yes to any of the above, the answer to your question is last year. If you don’t mind average graphics, the occasional frame drop in more detailed games, or simply turning your graphics settings down; depending on your “game” - mid 2018 to late 2019.Give us a few examples, how you want them to run, and I’ll update my answer :)
