How Long With This Knee Pain Last

Knee pain?

try glucosomine tablets and cream. Get it from your drug store/chemist. And the pharmicist there should be able to help you anyway.

I am 26 years old and have knee pain since last 7 months even after taken treatment. Doctor says due to vitamin D deficiency. What to do?

Dear Kavitha,Vit D deficiency is not common in young age unless there is a genetic metabolic abnormality or unless your diet is poor in calcium and vitamin D.It is possible that you are suffering from knee injury or injury to your Cartilage. A clinical examination in person could help identify the problem better. If you are around in Chennai, you could consult me after WhatsApp appointment at 9750349497. Otherwise kindly consult an Orthopaedician or a joint consultant in your place.Regards,Dr SaseendarWhatsapp 9750349497

How long does the pain last after a knee replacement?

You should be able to stop using your crutches or walking frame and resume normal leisure activities six weeks after surgery. However, it may take up to three months for pain and swelling to settle down. It can take up to a year for any leg swelling to disappear.

HELP.... knee pain continues... what to do...?

Well you have had quite the ordeal! Most doctors will not jump right into surgery unless they feel they can help you out with less invasive procedures first. Also if you are possibly going to have surgery in the future they will want you to increase your strength prior to the surgery for a quicker recovery. Keep doing as instructed. If you feel like the pain is becoming worse or simply not letting up at all ask him if there is something you can take to help you with your physical therapy, day to day activities, and sports. A ligament does not have a direct blood supply so if it is partially torn it won't heal on its own. Keeping the muscles strong that help support the knee in the long run will help with stability. At your appointment in March if they don't feel surgery is necessary at that time ask them if they have a brace to help you with stability so you can continue to compete in cheerleading. Also there is something called the unhappy triad. Ask your doctor about it!!! This involves the ACL, MCL and meniscus! You may not have injured the ACL yet but it would probably be the last to injury in this scenario. Ask them if maybe this warrants another MRI. With an injured MCL it maybe possible that you have come to injure the meniscus. A meniscus injury can feel like a catch or like your knee may give out. Good luck!

Had a cortisone shot today, How long does this pain last?

Hi- I have these type of injections for old injuries...If this pain continues into tomorrow, PLEASE call this Clinic....

In the meantime, take up to 800 mg of Ibuprophen every 6 hours- Icing this is GREAT- Elevate the site. REST as much as you can on this knee.

Again, please call the Clinic tomorrow, to see what they say. I've never had the injections hurt too much over 24 hours post injection. I am sorry the pain is as bad as when you had the injury initially.

PS- Have they suggested a knee brace? I'm sure they have. Just a thought!

Good luck and take care!

How Long Do Bone Bruises in The Knee Area Usually Last?

In October, I hyper-extended my knee in a soccer game. My ACL stretched out, and my bone ended up with what the doctors called a 'bone bruise'. Now, six months later, I'm still experiencing pain where the bruise was. After playing for about fifty minutes, it starts to hurt again. I've rested it and strengthened it, although I haven't received physical therapy. My question is, how long does it take for bone bruises to heal? is it normal for my pain to still be lingering?

How long does it take on average for knee bursitis pain to go away?

The bursa is the fluid-filled area in a joint. So bursitis is an inflammation of this area. Bursitis can be acute and heal within a few days to a few weeks. Or, it can be chronic, getting better only to keep returning. Frequent episodes of acute bursitis can cause thickening of the bursa and result in the chronic form as a result. Caring properly for acute episodes, warming up prior to exercise, resting the knee after activity and cushioning the joint (such as placing a pillow between the knees while sleeping) are good ways to help prevent chronic bursitis. If the inflammation becomes chronic, anti-inflammatory medications, compression/stabilization bracing, physical therapy and hold/cold therapy help to treat symptoms plus reduce exacerbations. Injections of steroids directly into the joint and surgical drainage may become necessary over time with chronic bursitis.Your PCP or Orthopedist can help you to determine the best treatment and preventatives for your particular situation. Properly caring for your inflamed knee will keep things from getting worse and allow you to be more comfortable as well as more functional.
