How Many Calories Should A Teenage Girl Trying To Loose Weight Eat Daily

Is 1200 calories too low for a teenage girl trying to lose weight?

It sounds like you may have an iron deficiency if you're cold all the time and losing hair.

You're eating too little and exercising too much for you to lose weight healthfully. Not many people will say this, but you don't have to count calories or run nearly as much to lose weight.

You can eat literally as much as you like... the only catch is to replace fake processed foods with real food.

That's mostly it. It really doesn't have to be complicated, like we often try to make things out to be.

So the reason why you have to eat more food to lose more weight is because you're body will go into defense mode and prevent you from losing any more fat in order to protect itself.

What makes you fat is the artificial sugar, oil, etc. found in processed foods... eating healthy fat (like olives, avocados, and coconuts) is even necessary for you to lose weight.

There's a lot of mis-info that gets passed around so it's not your fault. Also, you should focus on some exercises that will help you build muscle like squats, etc. You're not going to lose the majority of your weight directly from sweating it out after a workout, but from naturally converting fat into energy throughout the day (the more muscle the more fat is burned).

Is 1,200 calories too low of a daily intake for a teenage girl trying to lose weight?

I recently lost 35 lbs eating 1,200 calories a day (from 133 lbs to 98 lbs at 5 feet 6 inches, 16 years old).
At first I was exercising for an hour and a half to two hours a day rigorously. When school started I didn't have time to exercise anymore, but I was still able to lose 8 lbs in September without exercise (by eating 1,200 calories a day).
I decided on this number because every site I visited on the internet and every book I read said that you should eat 1,200 calories to lose weight.

However, though I lied to all the adults in my life by telling them that I ate 1,500 calories a day, they told me that even this number was far too low (even without exercise). I didn't believe them and lied about increasing my intake, but now I realize that maybe it was too low because I was always cold (my fingers and toes were constantly blue and I was shivering while others were warm), my hair fell out, I was constantly tired and cranky, and I lost my period.

Over the past few months I've been forced to gain weight and I'm back up to 120 lbs (still w/o a period). I want to lose weight again, but I want to do so more healthily. I realize that my ideal of being 95 lbs is not healthy (and the doctor threatened to diagnose me with an ED at 98 lbs even though I was eating a lot), but I'm definitely NOT comfortable at 120 lbs. I know I would be more comfortable (yet still healthy) at 110 lbs pounds. Is it safe to get there by eating 1,200 calories again? I feel like a failure and a cheater at dieting when I eat more. If not, how many calories should I eat to lose weight? I don't have much time to exercise, but I do try to walk 30 mins a day. Is it possible to get there by the beginning of August?
And just a curiosity, how many calories would it take to maintain my weight on days when I want to indulge a bit (with and without exercise)?

Sorry this is so long. Thank you you guys!

How many calories should a teen eat to lose weight but maintain healthy!?

im 17 168cm tall and 50kgs im not naturaly thin i have to work out and exercise and i know alot about nutrition so i can help you out here.first of all i see some people below are saying to eat around 2000-2500 calories per day they say teenagers should eat that much if there a little on the skinnier side because they need to grow into there more 'womenly' bodys to be able to nourish a baby when there older or just so they can have a healthy fat percentage.here is a website here that tells you how many calories you can eat per day when your body is at rest http://www.michellebridges.com.au/tools/bmr-calculator/index.1.html i did yours and you got 1603calories per day so aslong as you stay under that you should still lose.and i did it again for when you are 55kilos and at that weight you need 1407 calories per day to maintain your weight.but because your exercising i think you should have around 1300-1800cals per day hope this helps!

i personaly like to stick around 1200-1400cals per day and do 5x 90 min cardio sessions each week and im droping weight quite fast.

POLL: Teenage girls how many calories do you eat per day?

I believe teens take in the most food a day due to having school peer pressure etc etc. Im trying to loose some weight im 5'4 and weight 230 I take in 1240 a day. 17 years old

A female should take in 1200 calories or more a day but not more then 2500
A male should take in 1500 a day.

Female less due to how our body store our fat.

Breakfast and lunch should be your least calories because you can burn it off by doing simple tings as walking around the school or walking home from school etc. Dinner should be used for the rest but watch that you eat lest starch n meat then vegetables.

It really all depends on your height and current weight on what you should do for your calorie intake

Can eating 400 calories a day help lose 10 kg of weight in a month if am a 16-year-old girl?

Ok first of all do not reduce your calories bellow 1200 calories per day at all cost!!!!1200 calories is the minimum calories your body requires to function. If you reduce your calories bellow this amount you will end up in “fatigue mode”. At fatigue mode your body destroys its muscle because muscle burns 35% more calories than fat. Also it destroys the hormones responsible for fat/weight loss. This means that every time you eat you will stock up fat because your body will be trying to survive the fatigue you put it into. And finally your cortisol levels(stress hormone responsible for fat storing) will hit red levels stocking fat in each bite.Of course all of that is still true if you reduce your calories more than 250 calories per day. Oh and in both cases you will end up with depression. Now that we cleared things out let’s discuss what your options are. You can safely loose 4 kilos per month. 2 from diet and 2 from exercise. I know that this isn’t the answer you want but please read me a little longer while I try to help you. From diet if you reduce your daily calories by 250 you got rid of those 2 kilos. From exercise you can loose the other 2 kilos if you just walk 1 hour straight without resting in a fast speed. Not running but not relaxed walking either. Now what will help you fix your image way more than loosing that 10 kg you asked me for, is building muscle. (No don’t think of bodybuilders and steroids or even girls with huge muscles etc)With weight lifting training your body will burn fat to build muscles. With more muscles you burn more calories even doing he same things with before. Nice right? As for the difference in image? At the first picture the girl is 56.82 kilos. At the second the same girl is 59.09 kilos.Image source: QuoraSo I would suggest a 3 days per week of weight training and 1 hour of cardio every day. Along with a 250 caloric deficit.Your image will be way better than trying to loose 10 kilos in a month I promise you that.Feel free to send me any questions you need for your training or your diet, and if you want send me some before and after pictures after the month passes.Good luck!!! I hope you do the right choice!!!

How many calories should a girl burn per day in order to lose weight?

Here’s how:Multiply your goal weight by 11. Begin eating this amount for 2 weeks. Track how much you weigh everyday. A healthy weight loss is 1–3 lbs. After each week, if you haven’t lost weight, decrease your calorie intake by 100–300 calories. If you have lost too much, increase your calories by 100–200 calories. In order to lose weight, your macronutrient breakdown should be this for example:120 lb woman — 40% C / 30% P / 30% FSo 120 lb x 11 = 1200 daily caloriesCarbohydrates1200 calories x 40% carbs = 480 carbs480 carbs / 4 grams per carb = 120 gramsProtein1200 calories x 30% protein = 360 protein360 protein / 4 grams per protein = 90 gramsFats1200 calories x 30% fats = 360 fats360 fats / 9 grams per fat = 40 gramsYou will need to eat higher-quality lean protein like chicken, steak, and fish. Always reach for whole foods that are unprocessed, more natural or organic carbohydrates such as oatmeal, quinoa and rice. Healthy fats such as olive oil, coconut oil, and ones that come almonds or avocado are a good source.75% of your success will come from eating clean and drinking at least 2 liters of water per day.

How many calories should I eat to lose weight? I'm 14 years old, I weigh 140 pounds and I’m 5'3.

Response to other answers: Calories are everything when it comes to weight loss. Exercise has been proven, compared to being in a caloric deficit, to be a difficult method to lose fat but it will aid you and make it easier. So let’s get to the actual answer! To find out how many calories your body runs on a day, using a TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) calculator,(I’m not sure if you’re male or female but I entered both into the calculator for you + considering you do moderate exercise which is 3–5 days a week probably from PE class)Your body runs on 2,400 calories if you’re a maleYour body runs on 2,100 calories if you’re a femaleThose numbers are your TDEE AKA how much calories your body needs to run on.Eat less calories than your TDEE = Weight lossEat more calories than your TDEE - Weight gainSince you’re aiming to lose weight, aim to eat 500 calories less than your TDEE which would be 1,900 calories if you’re a male and 1,700 calories if you’re a female. When it comes to how to track your calories, I recommend using the app: MyFitnessPal. It is basically a database of all the foods in the world. Just enter it into your day then it will display all the calories, nutrients, and everything you need.Exercise will help but it does not make much of a difference. An hour in the treadmill is 200–300 calories burned. You could simply save time not eating 2 Snickers bars instead! To stay in a caloric deficit - eat more vegetables and fruits as they are very nutritious considering you’re in the puberty age and they are very low in calories plus they are very filling meaning you’ll easily stay in a caloric deficit. Sugary foods easily pack in a lot of calories so it’s best to avoid them. Although you can lose weight if you eat less calories than your TDEE with junk food, you’d feel dizzy and tired because of the lack of nutrients you’d get from your good ‘ol fruits and veggies along with your meals. That is weight loss in a nutshell. Forget all the media news and fad diets. This is science! You could check out my blog MyoAbility.com where I focus on the science-backed ways to lose fat, gain muscle, gain weight and much more!

How many calories should a teenage girl have per day?

About 2200 calories if you are not active

and about 2500 if you are active

Because if you are exercising than you will burn calories and if you are not looking to lose weight than more calories is better

But average between 2200-2500

How many calories should a teenage girl burn every day to stay healthy (not lose weight)?

I'm 18 and trying to start exercising more just to be healthier. I'm happy with the weight I'm at, but can't seem to find how much calories I should be burning a day. I run on the treadmill about half an hour a day, but that doesn't seem like much. I don't really keep track of what I eat, but overall I think it's quite healthy. I only eat junk food when going out with friends.
Thanks for any advice!
