How many gigabytes should a college students laptop have?

Three main things

1. Processor speed
2. RAM (temporary memory)
3. Hard Drive Space

Processor speed should be minimum 2 GHz

RAM Memory should be minimum 2 GBs (could be upgradeable, ask!) Performance is key with this.

Hard Drive Space depends on the person.
Does she LOVE music? Is she a photo nut? Does she edit video? (higher processor helps this too)
Any size now a days will be fine standard basic is 160 GB. If any of those answers are a yes, consider something bigger. (especially the video)

Goodluck.

How can I check how many gigabytes I have left on my phone?

If ur an android user…Go to settings -> storageThere you will find the free amount of space left…..and about space filled by apps, videos etc….

How many gigabytes should you get when buying an iPhone?

This is another one of those ‘your mileage may vary’ questions. One size does not fit all. The smallest size is sufficient to load in the OS and many Apps, including games. If thats all you want cool. In the early days in particular, when the cloud was more of a dream, you would buy more storage to carry more movies and music with you. For those people the halfway point was often the sweet spot. And then there were the road warriors that wanted as much of their music, movies, and games, as possible on them at all times, for these people nothing but the most would do.Today, the cloud is a viable option to store your pics and music. It takes some management to make sure you have the tv shows or movies you want when you want, but its not impossible to live with the minimum. For me, to make it as easy and as flexible as possible, the mid point in the offering is a good compromise. I used to max out the storage, no more. I do live with the minimum on my iPad.

How many GBs does 4000 pictures use on my iPhone?

Assuming each photo is 5mb you have around 2gb of photos on your iphone.

External hard drive how many gb should i get to hold 6000 pictures? ?

Well, 6000 pictures certinaly wouldn't be enough to fill any external hard drive nowadays, even if were very high resolution pictures!

Also by downloading, I assume you mean transfer from digital camera or from the main computers hard drive to the external? If so, you'll definitly need one that is a desktop external hard drive rather than a portable one for laptops. Desktop externals require a power source so even the oldest of pcs don't become unsuable whilst transferring files to and from it. Portable hard drives take all power AND data transfer via USB only.

As for brands, always go for Western Digital. Like all external hard drives though they come with file password protection software preinstalled on the hard drive. I recommend you reformat the external drive before transferring stuff onto it. Becuase I know many people have had problems in the past and they ended up losing their stuff because of it!

Generally you get more space for your money getting a higher capacity drive. For example even the same make drives can be only be a few dollars or pounds more than one that is half the size, so do shop around ;)

How many GB of RAM Should I purchase for graphic designing?

When I first started out I got by with just 4GB of ram on a laptop. It was slow but it worked. Depending on the software you use. (Presuming your using Illustrator and Photoshop). You want at least 8GB.The real power comes from the processor though. When I had 4GB of ram I was running an i5 processor. Here are the specs for my machine and it serves me well for animation, web development, illustration, video editing, photo editing etc. In fact everything on my website The Kick-Ass Donkey Group Limited | Lancashire. was built using this laptop on Adobe CC, ProShow Producer, VideoScribe and Windows Movie Maker.MSI LaptopMain specs include GEForce GTX 1080 dpi Graphics Cardi7 - 2.8 GHZ Processor16GB RamThis thing will render a 4 minute video in less than 60 seconds without overheating. You don’t need to spend the earth. If you have a really low budget and can only afford 4–8 GB Ram then just try and reduce your file sizes or work from a cloud server like WD MyCloud ensuring that none of your files are on the hard drive. You could even use something like:Draw Freely | Inkscape (InkScape)The Photoshop Free Alternative (Gimp Shop)blender.org - Home of the Blender project - Free and Open 3D Creation Software (Blender)They take up less system power and are free to use. Bit of a learning curve if you’ve been used to Adobe CC but more than suitable and much more cost effective.

How many GB can you get on an iPhone 4?

Chuck is correct; the original iPhone 4S models came with 16, 32, or 64 GB storage.  After the iPhone 5 came out, the 4S was reduced to 8 GB capacity.

Should I get a laptop with 1 TB HDD or 256 GB SSD?

Depends what you want to do with it. The 1TB drive can hold 4 times more content than the 256GB one. But the SSD may be 4 to 10 times faster than the HDD.For most tasks, 256GB is plenty. But it could very quickly be used up if you’re storing stuff like video or 3d models. If you’re planning on installing lots of games (and/or many programs) on that, it may also be on the small side. So I’d lean towards the SSD instead, though the size is a bit restricting for some use cases. My own rule of thumb is to have at least twice the capacity of my expected usage volume. You could of course buy an extra external drive to store data which you only sometimes need, they tend to be reasonably cheap - but means you have an extra thing hanging off the laptop when you’ve plugged it in, not exactly condicive if portability is an issue. That said, you get SSDs and HDDs which are much closer to one another’s speeds. You need to find out what the particular model of HDD and SSD in those laptops have as throughput. If (say) the HDD is rated for 150MB/s and the SSD is only 200MB/s, then you’d not see much (if any) benefit in speed - so it may not make much difference, and if the price is similar the 1TB drive is clearly more useful. If the SSD (on the other hand) is rated for something like 400MB/s (or higher) you’d notice the speed differential very clearly and you’d be better off going with that instead (depending on your requirements).Another aspect to “worry” about is power consumption. In most cases a HDD uses more power than a SSD. Meaning the battery charge is going to be used up quicker with the HDD. But again, particular models vary here - you need to check the specs of the laptops to be able to compare properly instead of just relying on some generalisation.Lastly, and to a much lesser extent, a SSD tends to be less prone to mechanical failure. It has no moving parts, so a bump is less likely to cause damage than with a HDD. Though you do get systems which alleviate this problem - e.g. the HDD could be mounted with AVM (Anti-Vibration Mounts) connections (effectively something like rubber packing around it).Personally, I have a laptop with both a 512GB M.2 SSD (around 600MB/s) and a 1TB SATA HDD (around 120MB/s). The OS and most programs installed on the SSD, while most of my data and some less often used programs are on the HDD. Effectively getting the best of both worlds. But those sorts of laptops tend to be much more expensive.
