How Many Men And Women In The Military Join Single

Do military women attract military men?

Most women in the military i know only date other military members, past or present. A fine exampleis my sister, shes married to a fellow sergeant in an artillery unit. Its easy to see why, they both understand and respect the military, while civilians just try and understand. I wont say it's easier, but more comforting being in a relationship with someone who goes through the same shit.

LDS women in the Military?

I am LDS (male, married with children) and have lived on Army, Navy and Airforce installations overseas for the last 10 years. If you have prayed about this and feel that it is right, then go for it. Much good can come from enlisting. However, I would strongly caution you to really find out God's will. Don't get me wrong. I think that the armed services are good and necessary. There are many financial and educational benefits to joining one of the branches of the service in addition to being able to serve your country, like the GI Bill, free housing, free health care, training, etc.
I have seen however that these installations are often a place where drinking, partying, adultery, fornication, and general promiscuity run rampant. The deployments are long and often grueling. Soldiers frequently work on Sundays and are unable to attend meetings. Sprituality slowly erodes as you are constantly surrounded by foul language and behavior. There are also very few active LDS singles on many of these bases.
It is my opinion that the Air Force is the most family and LDS friendly of the branches of military. My personal recommendation from what I have seen, is that it is better to get one's college degree and then enter the service at a higher pay and rank rather than to enter as an enlisted soldier. I have only seen one active single female in my 10 years overseas.

Good luck. Contact me at whapingmon@yahoo.com if you have additional questions.

Where do military men meet their spouses?

Sequestered is a strong word.I'll use myself as an example. While deployed, sure, I was fairly isolated in regards to contact with civilians. Irregular and infrequent email contact with family and a close group of friends broke any real sequestration, but I wasn't exactly meeting loads of new people; aside from other sailors, and fraternization precludes what we're talking about here. That was deployment. And while I have lived on-base, for the majority of my time with the Navy I lived out in the surrounding city. I shared apartments and houses with other sailors, and had an apartment of my own for even longer.Nearly everyone I knew in the Navy, everyone I worked with, lived out in town. Living on base in barracks might not be exactly Spartan these days, but it's certainly not luxurious. It's a life of rules and regulations, not unlike living under the roof of a particularly strict set of parents, and with far more dire consequences for mistakes or broken rules.Off-base living is liberating. Leave your bed unmade, if you like living that way. Play your music louder, if your neighbors don't mind. You're living on your own, and without oversight; providing you're smart about your rent or mortgage: debt will get a service member in all sorts of hot water. That said, military folk meet their significant others all over the damn place. I met mine because she liked the band I was in at the time. Bars, clubs, parties thrown by mutual friends, blind dates... I even know a couple who met at a book reading by an author they both enjoyed. As regards its impact on my personal life, my military career was much like a civilian job, albeit one with long, occasionally shifting hours, with any off-time considered "on call", and some regular, extended trips out of town, "on business".

Is it true you can still have a sex life if you join the US military?

Um… what? You realize that there are parents in the military right? This questions makes no sense at all. Some military members probably have improved sex lives because they’re in the military. There are people out there who are attracted to people in uniform. There are some restrictions on your sex life in the military that aren’t as prevalent in the civilian world but they’re not some sort of forced abstinence. In the military you’re not allowed to have sex with people directly in your chain of command and officer/enlisted relationships are forbidden (mostly) as fraternization which still mostly reverts back to the chain of command conflict of interest. The only real difference in your sex life when you’re in the military is that you’ll potentially have some forced separation from your significant other. It’s hard to have sex with your g/f or wife if she’s in Coronado CA and you’re in Somalia. Civilian jobs can have some of this effect too but you can quit them if the travel becomes too overbearing and they rarely if ever separate you from your loved ones for such prolonged periods of time.

Married woman with child wanting to join the military... Please help!!?

The best thing to do is talk to a recruiter. Tell them your situation and majority of them will give you honest answers.
Ask the following:

1. How long is boot camp.
2. What if you have kids.
3. Housing.
4. Training.
5. Education expenses.
6. How different it is between men vs women.
7. What careers could I go into and either retire in as well as get out and do after an earlier departure from the military.
8. Since you want to go into the navy, one of the requirements in some areas is be able to swim. If you cannot swim you might want to consider the Air force and the Army.

I'm not sure if it would be wise for you to go into it now unless it is the last resort. You don't get housing until sometime after you get out of boot camp. Boot camp can last 4 weeks. Longer if you don't pass it the first time. You also maybe disqualified if you have certain issues health wise. They'll go through that with you once you go in for a physical.

When I was 18, I've tried to get into the military before but they said I couldn't because I have metal in my jaw from surgery when I was 16 and had an overbite that needed to be fixed.

My husband cannot get into the military because he's been on ritalin before.

Bring a list of questions to the recruiter so they can assist you better and don't sign that contract till your husband agrees with your decision. Since sometimes you will be away for a month or more, he has to be ok with that. Sometimes long distance relationships don't work if both don't agree with being apart for X amount of time.

Best of luck!

Oh and the military usually pays bonuses for signing up for certain areas.
They pay for most if not all of your education.
They pay for relocating you and sometimes family.
They usually pay for housing/eletric/gas/water, etc.
They also have a building on site for groceries, toys, clothes, etc. at a better discount than what you can get at civilian discount stores like Wal-Mart and Target.

If you specialize in something dentistry or physician, you can make killer pay every time you get certified or get a degree while in the military.
Just make sure you're careful about what you choose location wise so you wont be in harms way very much.

Plus if you're afraid of heights, ask a recruiter about that.

Why to parents encourage their kids to join the Military?

I'm with you totally. I think some parents are selfish and would rather gamble with their kid's lives than pay for them to have an education. So the encourage them to join and the kids are too young and ignorant to understand how high their chances for death in am illegal and immoral war are. Shame on these parents.
