I am surrounded by republicans!?
Hey! So, first: I don't want to offend anyone, so if you are a very strong republican, you should probably hit that x :( *This is really important* I recently moved to Georgia from Connecticut. Obviously, Georgia is much more republican than democrat. My family has raised me to be a very strong democrat, and I'm very active in community politics and Young Democrats of GA. However, I have recently had trouble with the kids in my school; the republican ones. For example, I was sitting at lunch and this kid starts talking about how homophobic he is. I'm a very strong gay rights supporter, and I kind of went off on him. It was along the lines of "Your crazy," "You need therapy," and "Maybe you have some personal issues." He then went on to ask me who I would vote for, and gave me the most disgusting stare when I said Obama. I am very politically educated ( :D ), and I had a whole bunch of facts, after he didn't have any. But what he did have: friends. All of his friends went around supporting him. Now, there were only four of them, but it really hurt me. All they kept on saying was "I hate gay people" "Obama is the worst president we've had." Okay, Next. In history, we need to do a debate. One side: Why we should NOT vote for Mitt Romney. Other side: Why we should NOT vote for Obama. I, of course, am randomly selected for the "Other" side. I don't know what to do. The kid that was really mean to me at lunch is in my group. I was literally shaking when I realized I was in that group. AND, even though I'm not the only democrat in my section, I am the only democrat in my small group. They split each half into two halves. So, all of my democrat friends in the "Don't vote for O" group are in the other half of our group. I'm all alone! I don't know what to do, in general. Am I overreacting? Is there something I should do to seem more confident (because I just get angry). Anyone been in this situation? Anything at all?!?!?!
To expose the coup of non-elected FBI to grab control of our government I am 100% behind gun ownership and open carry. We will not be Venezuela here in Texas not in most of the red states. Gun control laws in Illinois did not prevent the recent murders. If the employees were all armed, the killer could have been killed. Sheep want gun control. The elite liberals and democrats want gun control.
Was Ronald Regan a good leader?
Ronald Reagan was an opportunist. In the 50's, when he was a Democrat, he was the president of the Screen Actors Guild. The Screen Actors Guild was thick with commies, and everybody that was in the Guild knew it. When Reagan was asked what he knew, he said he didn't know anything about all those commies. Come on now! He was the president but he knew nothing? Nancy was found to be one of those card carrying, tythe paying commies, by the way. That's where they met. He was the first divorced president in American history yet he preached family values. When Reagan decided to enter politics he couldn't get anywhere with the Democrats because the Democrats had his number, and knew that he was nothing but a mere opportunist. So, the man turned Republican and he was greeted with open arms by the greedy warmongers. When he was governor of California he signed the bill that legalized abortion here in California. The entire 8 years he was president he denied that there was such a disease as AIDS, so no government funds were allocated for research, treatment nor prevention. Thousands of men, women and children died of this horrible disease while Ronald Reagan stood by and did nothing. After the outbreak of the Trading Arms for Hostages scandal and he was being questioned in front of a grand jury, he answered every question asked with "I don't recall." Come on now! He was president yet he knew nothing? The plans were being made for trading arms for hostages, otherwise known as "Contra-gate" in the basement of the White House while Reagan supposedly slept. He didn't even know what was going on in the basement where he slept. I beleive because of his answers to the grand jury that he was suffering from Altzheimer's while he sat in the White House. He always had that "Empty shell" look on his face. Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting that same look in his face. He is looking more an more like Reagan everyday. So, to answer your question, Ronald Reagan was an extremely lousy leader!
Simple Question for liberals. What is the profile of a typical suicide bomber?
The typical profile: Highly religious. Closed-minded. Determined that his beliefs are the only valid ones. Known to spout canned rhetoric in response to every statement or question. Intolerant of differences. More concerned with hurting people than solving problems. Full of hatred. Hmmmm... wait. I'm seeing a pattern here. Wait. What's that Skerry has in his hand? {EDIT} Skerry, what people choose to think about me and my ideas is up to them. Unlike you, I respect people's right to their opinion, whether they agree with me or not. The point is to actually have an opinion on the merits of an issue, rather than just spouting mindless rhetoric. But we've had this conversation before about hate-filled speech before. I understand that it's hard for you to remember such things, because the fangs must cause some terrible frothing at the mouth. But don't worry, it'll be ok. Just remember not to swallow.
In ALL honesty how ticked off do you think most of the righties are knowing?
Wow. The "brown fella" is over 3 years from throwing his hat in the ring and the libs are already focused on his race. There is no doubt in my mind that he has you libbies shitting bricks sideways. You just cannot wrap your head around the fact that a minority * dare * to step out of the liberal stooge fold.
Why liberal or conservative? Seems like a long time ago, but politicians used to be on a spectrum of ideology and not so polarized. There were liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats and everything in between. This created an environment of collaboration and an atmosphere to get things done. These folks are still out there but their voice is lost among the yelling.
