How Many More World Cups Do You Think Lionel Messi Will Play In

Will Lionel Messi ever win the world cup?

Leo Messi…one of the greatest footballers of all time….It's great when you talk about someone lk Messi! The only black mark on his illustrious career is the Int'l trophy Jinx which he needs to break… And he needs to do it so desperately….. For Argentina, more than himself. He was all set to do so this year… He's been in sensational form and Argentina side looking all good but then they suffer a dreaded scare by losing 6–1 to a rampant Spain!!! with Romero being taken off after the very 1st goal itself….. And Messi watching all of it from stands as he was out due to injury. They were left broken, humiliated and exploited.Adding to the woes……There comes the news of Romero getting injured and he's out of the Argentina squad which is a big blow for the Argentinians!!!Sergio Romero has been such a great player and he's been an asset for Manchester United for the past couple of years……So Argentina going to Russia without Romero and aiming the ultimate gold stays a dream this year too and for Messi the wait still continues…..Good luck next time Leo Messi!

If Lionel Messi had won the World Cup, do you think he would have been considered the best of all time by people outside of his fanbase too?

Perhaps if he were the only goal scorer. Those who find him inferior to CR7 would have pointed to some other factor within the team, like having Aguero to play alongside. That said, if by “outside of his fanbase” you mean people who prefer other players, they may never consider him to be the best of all time. There are plenty of people who are not “fans” who think Messi is one of the greatest.Just take solace in that you can watch him play. There are always people who are going to try to prove to you that a player you think is great is not really that great.

Will Messi and Ronaldo play 2022 world cup?

The participation of Messi and Ronaldo in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar depends on many factors:Their fitness or retirement by then: Currently, Messi and Ronaldo are 29 and 31 years old respectively. By then Cristiano will be 37 and Messi will turn 35 during the tournament. They will probably decline in considerable levels by them and won’t be the players they are today. There is also a possibility of their retirements before the competition. Ronaldo has declined at a minute level when compared to the “young” Ronaldo. He is not as fast as he used to be. Messi’s decline has not been seen yet but you can see it signs very soon. The competition in their nations’ starting XI: If they don’t retire before the world cup, they will have competitors to steal their place in their respective national sides. It is tough to state as to who will take their place or if anyone will in the first place because in modern football, you can get heroes overnight. Argentina has quite a lot of world class attackers and if Messi were to retain his place, he would need to maintain high fitness levels and stay as good as the player he is now. If anyone will occupy his spot for the 2022 World Cup, it would most likely be Paulo Dybala. Coming to Ronaldo, he won’t have as much competition as Messi (as I said, this could soon change though, because in modern football, you can become a hero overnight) but his fitness levels when compared to the other players will play a key role on whether he will play the 2022 World Cup or not. His injury during the 2016 UEFA Euro final against France has significantly reduced his running speed and acceleration. This could be enough for him to lose his position in the team by the then. The events between now and then: We’ve all heard of careers that got spoilt due to an injury after which a player is unable to play as he used to. If one of them got one like that, he would surely be ruled out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.The chances of their participation is 60 % for both according to me.Anyway, if I were you, I would not think too much about this and I would  just watch two absolute legends rule the beautiful by game crafting outstanding passes, performing breathtaking dribbles and scoring explosive goals. They are not at their prime but they still do have a treat to give us.To sum it all up, just enjoy the both of them play before a player who scores 30 goals in a season is considered as a legend and goes on to win the Ballon D’or.

How many World Cups did Messi play for Argentina?

With this year, it will be his 4th.First Germany 2006- make a cameo against Serbia to score his first world cup goal.South africa 2010-/ coming to the world cup as ballon d'or winner but didn't live the hype.Germany whitewashed them 4:0Brazil 2014.. His closest to lifting the trophyNow Russia 2018—?????????

According to you, till what age can Lionel Messi play?

40.Why? Simply because Messi has so much more to his game than pace.Sure he sometimes relies on a burst of speed to skip past the opposition, but he’s more than capable of getting into the perfect position to score, spotting a teammate’s run and going deep into his own half to get the ball and help play it out. He’s one of the most talented footballers to have played the beautiful game and, provided he stays relatively injury free, he can keep playing at the top level well into his 30s.It’s likely that he will at some point have to start playing deeper. When this happens he’ll score fewer goals, but will probably deliver more assists. He’ll still be an incredibly valuable player. One more thing – have you heard of AS Roma’s Francesco Totti? He’s nearly 40 and still playing in Serie A and the Champion’s League.Throughout his career he’s played as a winger, striker, attacking midfielder and most recently a super-sub.Totti is a player who aged beautifully and found a way to make the most of his incredible talent through the different stages of career. If Totti can do it, Messi can certainly try!

Who will win the World Cup, Ronaldo or Messi?

The chances are neither of them.Football (soccer) is a team sport and, even though single players can win matches, they can hardly win championships. When it comes to national teams (countries) one of the most important factor is to have had a balanced and uninterrupted qualification process (For example, Germany: they have the same coach since 2006 and since then they have been semifinalists in the world cup twice (2006, 2010) and have won it once (2014).In my opinion, the favorite teams to take the cup home are:Germany (Current Champion)BrazilFranceSpainThe problem with Argentina is that they had a sketchy qualification process (many coaches in a short period of time, and a problematic federation). However, I believe Argentina is the fifth favorite to win. This is because, although they didn’t make the best qualification process, they are still the current runner ups, without mentioning they have, in my opinion, the best player of all time. They have a high quality squad (Kun Aguero, Icardi, Dybala, Mascherano, etc), and if they can manage to compete with spirit and inspiration, anything can happen as the World Cup is a short time tournament. On the other hand, I think Portugal has a good team, but they don’t have the same squad quality as other teams. Yes, they have Ronaldo, and that is not a minor thing to say. However, I don’t think its going to be enough. I think they will make a good tournament though, I predict they’ll make it to the quarter finals.

Do you think Messi needs to win World Cup to prove himself as the greatest footballer ever?

No, Messi does not need to win the World Cup to be the greatest of all time. In today’s game, the highest standard of play is not on the international scene but at club level where the very best players in the world get paid millions and competition is the most fierce. In Pele, Cruyff and Maradona’s time the WC was considered the most competitive competition. The Champions League in Europe is the most sought after prize in the world and is the most competitive. Messi has won 4 CL titles and led this league in both goals scored and assists multiple times. Messi has won the Ballon D’Or 5 times and may not be done.FIFA has not recognized club friendlies in goal tallies because the level of competition was and is so poor and porous. As far as official FIFA goals go, Messi has 581 goals in 744 games and Pele has 767 goals in 831 matches. With the advent of superior training, diet and technology at our disposal players are faster, stronger and more competitive than in the past. Messi has a decent chance of surpassing Peles totals, though not the gaol to game ratio, but again competition is more difficult in the modern game.In 2014, when Argentina played Germany in the WC final, Higuain had 2 clear-cut chances and did not time his run and also missed a 1 on 1 with the goal keeper down the center of the pitch. Messi also had 1 very clear opportunity where he dragged his shot wide by about 2 feet. So my question is, if Higuain makes either of his 2 chances or Messi makes his 1, does that one instance make Messi the greatest ever? Or is it a cumulative of his entire career? The miss Messi had in the Copa America finals last year was just after Vidal had missed, so both teams were still 0–0 even though yes Messi could have given his team momentum. So certainly Messi is not perfect or an alien, but he can still be considered the greatest ever regardless of WC outcomes.

What do you think about Lionel messi & Roman requillme?

Riquelme would be great, if he could get over his personal issues (Did you know that because he didn't get along with Crespo, he refused to pass him the ball during some of the games? This was especially obvious in Arg-Ger.).

Messi, on the other hand, is destined for greatness. With luck, he'll quit injuring himself so much and he'll be in top form for 2010, where the new coach will take full advantage of Lio's skill and Argentina will take the Cup home again, after 24 long years. :)

Do you think Messi will win Ballon d'Or next year?

I think the answer to this question is very simple. I am pretty sure that the Ballon D’or for 2018 will be decided based on the below scenarios.Scenario 1- Regardless of who wins the domestic league and the champions league. If Argentina wins world cup 2018- MessiIf Brazil wins the world cup 2018- NeymarIf Portugal wins the world cup 2018- RonaldoScenario 2- Neither of the above win the world cup, then the winner of champions league will get the Ballon D’or.Scenario 3- Neither of them win the world cup or the champions league, then if a player ends up winning both the world cup and the champions league and ends up top scorer of their team or either of the tournaments, then neither Messi, Ronaldo, or Neymar will get the Ballon D’or.Scenario 4- If Neither of the above 3 win the world cup or the champions league, and no player wins the world cup and the champions league, and Barcleona wins the La Liga, then Messi will win the Ballon D’or.Scenario 5- If Messi does not win any trophy, then the Ballon D’or will go to the world cup winner, given the top scorer is from the winning team and the top scorer has won the domestic league as well. This scenario is very unlikely though.Since Barcelona is doing very well in the league, Messi needs to win the champions league to assert his dominance. Post that he needs to make sure Argentina does better than Brazil in the world cup.One thing is for sure. Next year is going to be a real nail biter. After a long time we might have a Ballon D’or winner outside of Messi and Ronaldo.
