How much water should a 12-year-old drink per day?

Your body loses water through breathing, perspiration, urination, and bowel movements. For the body to work well, you have to replenish the lost fluids by drinking beverages and eating foods containing water. Water needs vary from person to person. Needs are governed by where a person lives, how big they are, what they are doing , and how much they exercise. Here is the myth "Drink eight 8 glasses of water daily." That's about 1.9 liters, which isn't that far from the Institute of Medicine guidelines. The fact is very few people follow age charts or guidelines, because determining water intake simply based on age is absurd. The journal of “Public Health Nutrition” 2012 published a study that was funded by Nestle Waters suggesting that 2/3 of the children in Los Angeles and New York were not getting enough water. Other claims are, most people walk about in a constant state of partial dehydration. The good news is, your body provides signs whether you are drinking enough water. If everything is normal and healthy, the color of an individual’s urine should be a pale yellow to gold. Here's what your pee might be telling you:Straw-Colored To Transparent-Yellow Pee: This is the normal urine color of a healthy, well-hydrated body. This is what it should look like.Transparent Or Clear Pee: You should always be properly hydrated, but you can actually drink too much water, which will make your urine virtually colorless. Overhydration for long periods of time can lead to serious complications.Dark Yellow Pee: Still "normal"—but verging on signs of dehydration. You should probably start sipping water more regularly.Honey-Colored Pee: Time to up the water intake. This isn't going to cut it.Maple-Syrup-Colored Pee: Uh-oh! This could suggest severe dehydration or liver disease.Listen to your own body, and most importantly if you are thirsty its time to drink. Plain water is the best source for fluids.

How much liters of water should a 12 year old girl drink per day?

Drinking a lot of water is healthy, but it is possible to overdo it -- 8 to 10 glasses a day (which equals about 2 liters) is about right. More than that could lower your blood electrolyte levels (sodium, potassium, sugars, etc.), which can potentially be very bad unless you replace them -- and can also make you have to pee more rapidly. Try mixing a little juice or sports drinks in with your water intake to help your body maintain a better fluid balance.

As far as going to the bathroom a lot, well, that's unavoidable if you drink that much water! As long as there's no burning sensation when you pee and it feels like you can empty your bladder completely each time, chances are nothing is wrong with you. Once an hour is maybe a little unusual, but not unheard of, especially if you have lots of fluids in your system. It's possible that your bladder isn't growing quite as fast as the rest of your body and this is causing you to pee more often. If this is the case, you can try at convenient times to make yourself hold it *slightly* longer than you normally would -- just like 5-10 minutes after you feel the need to go really bad. This can help your bladder to stretch out a little bit and make the "holding" muscles stronger so that you won't have to go quite as badly. DON'T overdo this though because you can give yourself a urinary infection -- 5-10 minutes at a time is enough! You're probably really healthy, though -- this might be a little annoying, but there are a lot of worse things you could have, and in the long run it's probably nothing to worry about. Good luck!

How many cups of water should a 13 year old drink!!?

Inside or outside 8-10 glasses of water a day is enough to be well hydrated.
I was in a weight control/exercise program 2 yrs ago and they recommended
one ounce of water per lb daily.
So if she weighs 145lbs she could drink 145oz/day.
There are many benefits to exercise besides just losing weight. Like improved cardiovascular health with lower blood pressure, increased flexibility, increased endurance, increased metabolism, better digestion, restful sleep, a sense of well-being and not to mention looking better in and out of your clothes.
