Do you think school is boring?
As a hardcore, nerdy student, I love school. The thought of learning exhilarates me. Despite getting up at 6:30am and coming home at 5:00pm everyday, I always look forward to attending classes. Since school takes up a huge portion of my day, I kinda have to enjoy it, or else I’ll go insane.However, I know many students who hate everything about school. They complain about its competitive environment, the stress of assignments, how it doesn’t relate to their future career and how they cannot apply their true strengths. The last issue is particularly common with my artistically inclined friends, whose talents often go unnoticed as our school mainly focuses on science and maths achievements. I guess these are some reasons why students don’t like school and thus find it boring.Some smart students find school tedious for totally different reasons. They excel in everything, school becomes ‘easy’ for them and they try less harder in their studies.
Why do many people think coding should be mandatory in school?
When I was a kid, we learned grammar. Today's elementary school children are not taught grammar. They do not know how to diagram a sentence, they do not know the tenses and they don't understand sentence agreement. Combine that with the fact that in general the Humanities suffer at the hands of ideology in most American colleges and universities and you have the formula for disaster that is our modern media. People cannot write. The most popular films are about comic book heroes. The View. Legislation using acronyms.On the other hand people do generally expect their cars to work, electricity to flow, emails to be delivered and planes to fly. So while the majority of Americans can stomach mediocrity in the Arts and Letters, they generally expect the Sciences to actually produce reliable results. People think coding should be mandatory in school because programmers make money, and English majors do not make money. The real economy of America is driven by things that work and people who work. Programmers are respected because we not only know how to diagram sentences, we know how to write code (most of us) that passes very strict syntax rules. We are problem solvers. These are skills that require discipline, whereas in the Humanities, discipline is optional and problems are a matter of perception. In time, I expect society to recognize the dire consequences of Humanities without discipline and standards. We are approaching those days. In the meantime, computer science is over-appreciated because of the failures elsewhere in society, and so mommies and daddies will want junior to learn Python. Code BabiesThere is another dimension to this. In fact, there are fake economies in the digital arena, and clickholes can make money too. So sometimes coding is easy money in less than honest work. Because porn.

I was looking around the internet to get a percent/number of people in the world that use chopsticks for my speech for school, but I couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know an approximated number or percent of people that use chopsticks? Also, please cite the source. Thanks!
Do you take your purse to school?
Do you take your purse to school? Do you use your locker? How many bags do you take to school and carry around all day? I have six classes i need to take notes for. What should I bring and what should i put in my locker? ect. Answering any of these questions would help, thanks. :) Preferably people in high school, since thats what i'm going into!
Is 'Yahoo Answers' doing people's homework for them?
What do I do when someone asks me the principals behind some mathematical equation? I don't answer it. Not that I don't know it, but what if I were wrong, I wouldn't want that on my head. And if it's so simple they should not need assistance I won't answer it. But what if there are teachers that are on here with the rest of us that can help them? I don't know that there should be a stop to this even tough I don't necessarily agree with it. I can't help but think of the kids who are beyond what their parents educational abilities are, and sitting at home with a trig question (there was one yesterday) and no one to ask help from. There are many kids who are educationally beyond the level or the expertise of their parents. Who do they ask when at home without their teacher or professor? I'm more concerned about the people who are asking business questions and getting their 'work' done by others on here than I am a kid who asks one question about their homework. So I guess, I think that we already have leaders, workers, and teachers who have become dependent on others to do their work for them. Is it too late to change that? I don't know. But the world is still a beautiful place where people help other people to learn and grow to make this world a better place. Maybe our future will be focused on working together to reach goals instead of being such an independent society.
Should Public Schools Use Indian Mascots?
we have been asking for years to remove natives and native symbols as mascots. it insults and demeans us as people and often times mocks things we hold sacred. i'm a native mother who has seen my own children be humiliated by such displays at sporting or school events. but of course the arrogance of the dominant culture says "we are honoring you and you will be honored if we have to shove it down your savage throats"...and then they do. want to see how honored we are by them? read any online comments section about this issue and you will see how much they honor us. most are vulgar and many call for our deaths. how's that for honoring? this is not about honoring us. it never has been. its about entitlement. people think they have the right to do whatever they want and you'll be damned if some savage is going to tell you that you can't. that's how it goes.
