How Many Refunds Will I Get Per Year In A Community College

When should I get my tuition refund from Mott Community College?

schools don't issue refund checks until 4 weeks AFTER the first day of school

Houston community college?

I need a little more info... Have you filled out the FAFSA?
If so, did you get your SAR (Student Aid Report) yet?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, it's easy to find out how much (if any) you will get back.

If the answers are no, then...
First: FILL OUT THE FAFSA
If you fill out the FAFSA online, and give them an e-mail address and tell them to send your results to you by e-mail (when it asks you on the application, if that's okay), they will send you an approval and a SAR (Student Aid Report) in less than 7 days.
______________________________________...
Once you have your SAR, there is a number, in a box, on the top of the first page of your SAR, called an EFC number (Expected Family Contribution number) that holds the key to finding out how much you will get.
I just found the COA (Cost of Attendance) for a Freshman at Houston Community College is $17,628 per year (two semesters). This average cost is how students compare costs at different colleges and estimate their Financial Aid package.
Subtract the EFC number you find on your SAR from $17,628. This will tell you how much your "Expected Need" is. You will be eligible for UP TO that much Financial Aid. BUT, the MOST a freshman can get is $13,635 per year. because the maximum Pell Grant is $5,635.and the maximum loan amount is $8,000.per year.

So, look at your SAR for that EFC number and you will quickly know what you can expect.
Good Luck!

If you drop a class in community college do you get your money back?

It depends on their policy. Sometimes, you have a week to drop. You should check with them.

Do Harrison college students receive a refund?

Whether a student is entitled to a refund or not depends on several factors, so not every student at any particular college receives one. However, you are more likely to receive one at some colleges than at others.

Federal student aid funds are first sent to the school, where the college's charges, such as tuition and fees are deducted. If there is a credit balance (money left over), then the college must refund that amount back to the student within 14 days. At many for-profit schools like this, most of their income comes from federal student aid, so very often their tuition is set at a level that maximizes the amount of aid they can keep. In other words, they set up their tuition so it is above the amount of aid that most students receive and there isn't any money left over to refund after the charges are paid. Students who were used to receiving large refunds at a community college are often unpleasantly surprised to find that they receive nothing when they switch to a for-profit career school.

This is just a general description. To determine what will happen in your case, you need to speak to someone in financial aid at the school.

What college majors are most useful?

I’m about to go to community college for a year then transfer into a four year university. I have no clue what to major in... I am spending my own money and need something that will give me a good return something that is worth the money.. not just a random degree. I have a very entrepreneurial spirit and I am very creative. I love music but I’m not going to major in it because I don’t like classical music and I don’t think it guarantees me a job in the music industry. My dream would be to manage bands, own a record label etc. but I also love film, art, journalism. I just need something that will be a smart choice and I’m steering clear of “arts” majors if I can. Any idea what a useful undergrad degree is besides medical field... I was going to do marketing but people continue to tell me how un lucrative that degree is so idk.
