How Many Times Do Women Ovalate A Month

Do women ovulate the same time every month?

yes
the length of your luteal phase is the same each month (normally you ovulate 14 days before your next period)

the long medical explanation is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_c...

The length of the follicular phase — and consequently the length of the menstrual cycle — may vary widely. The luteal phase, however, almost always takes the same number of days for each woman: Some women have a luteal phase of 10 days, others 16 days, while the average is 14 days

just to be clear the above poster is correct, you wont always ovulate on the same ady (ie the 1st of the month)
you will always ovulate on the same time of your cycle

How many times can a woman ovulate in a month?

My wife just removed her birth control after almost 9 years of using it (nuvaring). It's now been I believe 42 or more days since her last period, and the test shows that she is ovulating for the 3rd time. Is this something to be concerned about?

Does a woman ovulate twice a month?

Does a woman typically ovulate twice a month? no.Can a woman ovulate twice a month? yes. A woman can either have a cycle that is shorter than the month, and therefore ovulate at the beginning and end of a month where that lines up for her. She also could ovulate twice in a single cycle, although this is not very common.

Do women ovulate at the beginning or at the end of the month?

A woman's cycle begins the first day of her menses, or period. (or flower, as some women now insist) It ends the next cycle, which will be day 1 of the new cycle. The days in between then counted, and ovulation typically happens during the one-two days directly in the middle. Most cycles are 28 to 32 days long, but many are shorter or longer.  And sometimes the cycles aren't absolutely cyclic; so one month they are 28 days long, the next month, they are 32. Try not getting pregnant by avoiding your "fertile" days when you have anywhere from two days to ten to try to guess!

When do women ovulate like what age do they begin to ovulate and what are some signs that you are ovulating?

Women begin ovulating at the time when they get their period. Ovulation happens about half way between your periods, and is when the ovaries release an egg which travels through the Fallopian tubes and to your uterus, where it waits to be fertilized. If it is not fertilized, (does not come in contact with semen), the cells that line your uterus (that are blood or rich in blood) are shed. This is your period, when the egg and the lining of your uterus are bled out once a month.

You can often tell when you are ovulating if you pay attention to your body. You may feel changes in mood, or want to have sex more, and have a milky discharge. It usually happens for only a day or two in the middle of your cycle. Some woman have cycles that are so regular that they can track when they are going to ovulate so they know when they are most fertile to either get pregnant or avoid getting pregnant. Some women may even ovulate when they are having their period (very rare, but you don't want to take a chance like that, so always use protection).

Women: Do you get your period the same time/days every month?

I am assuming that you aren't playing here and really want some answers.
#1. Do you get your period the same time/days every month? no
#2. How many days does your period last? 3 to 15 days
#3. and isn't the ovulation period also 3 days? 3 to 20
#4. The amounts of time probably vary from woman to woman, but do they from time to time? Yes
#5. Anyway so since sperm can survive max. 3 days. Then wouldn't it make sense to not have sex for those 9 days of the month to avoid pregnancy? Yes, it's called the "Rhythm Method of Birth Control", and was the only method available way back when. (In your great grandmothers day) And it makes a lot of assumptions that are not true.
Many women are fertile for 20 days a month and others may only be fertile for one or two days. Some women bleed for 2 or 3 days every 27 to 30 days while others may bleed 15 days every 18 days or so- all of whom are considered "normal". And is the main reason why the "Rhythm Method of Birth Control" does not work for most people.
We are not clocks, we are women and what you are asking is sort of like me asking you if you poop every day at exactly the same time by the clock.
And yes you are right, what you have learned school is based on overall averages and not necessarily true for any individual so it isn't a matter of your ignorance - it's a matter of what you were taught.
The word cycle by the way, refers to the time from the start of a period until the start of the next period. Just like the cycles of the moon.
And lastly: don't u ovulate right before your period? So if you know when you have you period then you'd know when you're ovulating right? Like I said before, No. Most women are not that regular (like clock work). And that is why women who want to get pregnant but are having a hard time are instructed to take their temperature every day to see if ovulation can be detected.

Now, I have a question for you. Don't you have a mother or father you could talk to about this? You have a lot of questions. And FYI there are many good books at the library that can explain the functioning of a woman's body as well as give you a better understanding of your own.
I hope I have answered your questions to your satisfaction.

Why does it feel like months for me when I don't ovulate?

I’m not sure what you are asking. How do you know whether you ovulate or not? Most of the time the mother does not know when they ovulate. They might be counting days or know when they should ovulate but most don’t actually know when it occurs. Sometimes a woman will have some slight sharp pain on one side of their abdomen when an egg is released but the pain usually doesn’t happen every month and she can certainly ovulate without knowing exactly when it happens. Some women do not ovulate every month. The woman would likely not be aware of that either. A hormone imbalance can cause that or severe nutritional issues like annorexia or obesity can cause a woman to not ovulate. Some women have polycystic ovary syndrome which means they have multiple eggs released sometimes and other times none. It is a big reason for regular periods and also for multiple births. Women with PCOS also have higher rates of painful ovarian cysts and unexpected pregnancies. The pregnancies happen because eggs are not released in a predictable time cycle.Sometimes waiting to ovulate seems like it takes forever if you are trying to conceive too. It could be that you are overly anxious for it to happen and it seems like time is standing still or even that you really don’t ovulate regularly. Medication can help with regulating a woman’s cycle. If you are asking why it has been months since you ovulated that could be a medical question that needs answering. The most obvious would be that you are pregnant. Women do not normally ovulate once they are pregnant. The hormones from the pregnancy will prevent another egg from maturing while she is pregnant. Birth control pills and injections also prevent ovulation. It is also possible that menopause has started.

Is it possible to ovulate twice in one month?

Surprisingly enough, YES THEY CAN!The conventional belief that women ovulate once a month is wrong, say Canadian researchers who have found that women can potentially ovulate two or even three times a month, according to a study published in the journal of Fertility and Sterility (2003;80: 116-22),That may explain why the rhythm method has so many failures and why some people still get pregnant despite using hormonal contraceptives.Read the New Scientist article here-Women can ovulate more than once a monthEdit Thank you to Jess B for letting me know that particular study was seriously misrepresented! Apologies! But even so, fraternal twins come about by 2 separate eggs being conceived simultaneously, and, although it is rare but possible, for some women to become pregnant again whilst already pregnant resulting in double pregnancies!

How many eggs does a woman lose per month?

About 10,000 eggs/month.Let’s make the roughest calculation.A woman starts menstruating at 12 y.o. And stops menstruation at 50 y.o.She starts of with 400,000 eggs, and at fifty there are essentially no eggs. She has lost 400,000 eggs in 38 years which comes out to something over 10,000 per month.During that time she will also have something like 400 ovulations. 13 ovulations a year x 38 years = 394So of the 400,000 eggs 400 are ovulated and399,600 are lost to spontaneous death. These are said to become atretic. These are approximate but real numbers.
