Why did WWE never put CM Punk in a WrestleMania main event?
CM Punk was only a main eventer for 2 Wrestlemanias. WM 28 where he was WWE Champion and unforuntaley it was the “Once in Lifetime” match between Rock and Cena. Obvious decision to have Cena main event. Next year it was pretty much the same thing, which was really unfortunate considering CM Punk’s match against Undertaker was the match of the underwhelming night. In hindsight it was a clear decision because WM 28 did so well in PPV buys(before WWE went to the network and stopped caring about PPV buys). There was apparently a plan to put Punk in main event and make it a triple threat match….but that never came to fruition. Probably part of the reason why Punk left the following year.

If you have not heard Colt Cabanas most recent podcast. Then I recommend that you do. CM Punk finally opens up about his departure in the WWE. He also expressed his own thoughts about Wrestlemania 29. He's angry over the fact that he did not close the show. He was red hot in 2011, didn't get to Main Event WM28. He was "hot" in 2012/2013 and the WWE decides to go with Rock v Cena for the Main Event at WM29. He kept telling McMahon a 3 way between him Rock & Cena was the way to go for WM. But his ideas kept getting rejected. So he's worked his a** off for many years. He's managed to sell more merchandise then Cena. He's well liked, respected and gets an amazing fan reaction. But the WWE refuses to put him in the Main Event for WM. Here's when the frustration gets even worse. Him & Taker steal the show. Punk knew he would steal the show. He believed in his heart he would have the best match in the card. And he did... When he gets back to the locker room after his match against Taker, I think he said Hunter and another backstage head guy told him he should of closed the show. Well no sh*t! When superstars are getting their WM paycheck, He gets paid way less then HHH, Lesnar, Cena & Rock. Who stole the show??????!!!! It sure as hell wasn't HHH & Brock... It sure as hell wasn't Rock & Cena. There's no reason to pay CM Punk less. Especially because he had the best match. Its BS in my opinion. Your thoughts?
Do you think Wrestlemania 33 Main Event will be The Undertaker VS. John Cena?
Vince McMahon wanted John Cena VS. The Undertaker match to main event at Wrestlemania 32 but thank to his shoulder injury, Vince replaced him with Shane McMahon instead. What a terrible build-up between those two guys. Thank goodness that match didn't happen because Wrestlemania 32 wasn't a great Wrestlemania. Even though most fans thought Undertaker will wrestle his last match at Wrestlemania 32 since his home country, Texas. But you know Vince McMahon, He will never let Undertaker retired until he get a proper LAST match and wanted John Cena to be his FINAL opponent The Undertaker VS. John Cena match as Main Event of Wrestlemania 33 could do a better job than The Undertaker VS Shane McMahon storyline?

The psychology in this match was off the charts, you had a man that's worked so hard in his career finally winning the big one, what he did three years later is questionable, but it still doesn't change my opinion on THE greatest in-ring technician of all time. Seeing Benoit and Eddie, two lifelong friends celebrating as they were both at the top of the wrestling world with each other, and knowing that both of them are gone just makes that moment even more emotional. It was an unforgettable match and it's the definition of what a WrestleMania main event should be. Why do WWE Wrestlers like Rey Mysterio and CM Punk not resign their contracts?
Wrestlers have different reasons for not resigning contracts and leaving WWE.In case of Punk, he had serious issues with the company and his character was build very well and established, still he wasn't allowed to main event WrestleMania, plus the injury issue added up.Rey Mysterio has been on verge of joining WWE in last year or so but probably he has pay issues as WWE is not wanting to give him enough money. And it can be possible, that on returning he would be used as a veteran in the drowning Cruiserweight division which later would make him an enhancement talent. And also many popular wrestlers have emerged who would give him competition. Currently he is in Indies but he is still an attraction.Times have changed today, talents like Cody Rhodes, Barrett or Neville can be successful and make more money outside WWE and still be popular.
Was letting CM Punk go 'best for business'?
For them: might be Best for business, as we don't know the context of the scene. Some reasons might cite Punk and some might cite wwe. For us: it was worst for business. Just imagine with all the talent injured and no top spot superstars currently. CM Punk could've easily main event this wrestlemania. Well, he could've get injured like many top Stars but he missed it, as well as wwe missed it.
Why do people feel sorry for cm punk and act like he was mistreated?
well i guess he showed his real personality i look at it this way if i am getting paid to do something it's my job wwe wrestlers make a ton of money with merchandise and such and they are in no right to complain it's not like wwe was never going to have him in the main event again they were this time is really not the right time for punk that's all in 2011 his run was one of the best in a while hes acting like a baby but now he messed up.
What is the difference between a headline match and a main event match?
I think the difference is: A headline match has may or may not have top billing and does not go on last or be a World Championship match, even a match that is billed a main event but is somewhere in the middle of the lineup. Matches like Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 18, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 28, and The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 are headline matches they might not have been main events but could have (and in the case of Rock vs. Hogan especially) maybe should have been. A main event match is the match that's in that coveted closing spot. It may be the top billed match, may not be but it is what closes. Cena vs.The Rock at WrestleMania 28, Triple H vs. Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 18, and Triple H vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 25 were the main events.
