How Many X Should I Use The Treadmill A Week And How Many Miles Should I Go Up To

400 meter runs using a treadmill?

Well since 400m = 0.25mi

Most treadmills have a distance measurement (measuring in miles) and so you could keep an eye on the meter and when it reaches 0.25, that's 400m

You can adjust your speed and incline percentage to suit your training needs while doing it

How often should i run on my treadmill?

You can run every day, but you should have some recovery days too.
Your legs are sore because you are not conditioned to running yet.
It is not unhealthy to run everyday, but most people take off at least one day each week.

While you are adjusting to the exercise you can skip one day after running for two days.
Be sure you warm up and stretch before and cool down and stretch after running.
You can walk for about 10 minutes to do this.
Drink plenty of water because indoors you will become dehydrated before you are thirsty and get cramps in your legs.

Is running 30 minutes on a treadmill daily (6 days a week) harmful?

Not at all! It is exactly opposite of harmful, generally speaking. Assuming you are not starving yourself, your running form is good, you didn't have any injuries in the recent past, and you have access to good quality running shoes, I would say running daily is probably the healthiest activity you can do.It elevates your heart rate for extended amount of time which increases your metabolism that remains elevated for the rest of the day. There are innumerable benefits of it. And the duration is fine too! People say if you run too much, it will burn your muscle. It is pure myth. I personally used to run 50 mins without seeing any deterioration in the gym, in fact I started performing better than I ever did.

Feel so tired after walk/run on treadmill :( help me!?

my mum just bought me a new treadmill today and i am 17 years old
i have not exercise since i was grade 9 and i am grade 12 now so like 3 whole years!!
i used to be really fit and played netball etc. but due to my studies and trying to get into university the past years i have had no time.
so today for the first time in three years i walked for 8 minutes and ran the last 2 minutes. i got off and nearly died!! i drank nearly a whole bottle of water!
i rested for 10 minutes then did 4 minute walk then 2 minute run then 2 minute walk then 2 minute run again.
i got off, drank so much water, did a few stretches and had a shower and i was puffing while having a shower, i found it so hard to stand up. i am now on my bed feeling sooooooooooooo exhausted!!
what is wrong with me? i thought exercising is meant to make you feel good??and seeing i only did 20 minutes all up??
is it just because i havnt exercised in so long? thanks for your your time x

How long will it take me to run 1.5 miles?

5.5 you must be on a treadmill i would do your running on a track or ask your parents to drive in the car and map 1.5 out for you cause treadmills are not that accurate. i would say that depending on your age and your cardio level you should run it around 13-16 min.

i am 29 and i run 1.5 miles in about 7min 30sec

If i go on the tredmill 30 minutes everyday how long will it take to notice weight loss?

A couple of weeks and you should notice a difference on the scales :)

It's very important to mix it up a little and don't stick with the same thing. If your new to the treadmill keep it simple.

Once you've got the hang of it increase the speed/incline so you are walking/running at different paces.

If you are working out to music, try to speed up to the chorus or something or to a new song.

Drink plenty of water and eat healthy - this does not mean not eating when hungry, but selecting foods which will benefit your physique,

You've taken the first step, now you need to keep up with a routine and gain excellent results

Is it better to run for 5 minutes on treadmill or walk for 30?

I think you’d be better off walking for 30 minutes. In general, it takes an equal amount of calories to walk a mile as it does to run a mile, you just get there faster running. Now that said, if you’re talking about running for 5 minutes (and assume for arguments sake that you can run a mile in that time), I’m pretty sure you’d walk further in 30 minutes than you’d run in those 5 minutes. You’ll burn more calories walking than from running, and probably get more cardiovascular benefit from the walking as well. Then again, if you have the time to walk 30 minutes, why not just run for those 30 minutes?

6 mph for 30 minutes on a treadmill equals what distance?

I know as a avid runner, I used to train with the treadmill until I burned out the motor, but I do remember that running 6 mph would equal a 10 minute mile. So you would of ran 3 miles for 30 minutes at 6 mph. I really couldn't tell you anything about the calories burned because it would depend on different factors like incline and or/the treadmill. Sorry about that. Here is a pretty good link regarding the treadmill workout.

How much weight can I lose from walking 2 miles 5 days a week for a month?

Walking 2 miles a week may help you lose some weight in the beginning.Calories burnt by walking - 5 x 30 x 5 = 750 calories. This will help lose 400 grams in a month. However the following walking for weight lose could be better optionWalking to Lose WeightWalking burns 5 calories per minute. There are 1440 minutes in 24 hours.Average calorie consumption is 2500 for a person looking to lose weight.Calories are produced during cellular metabolic process. By exercising or increasing the burning of calories we cannot increase the production of calories during cellular metabolic process substantially. We can at best expect small changes.Calories are used by vital organs and vital processes of the body AND for physical exercises and movements. So if we start spending too much calories all of sudden on exercises there will be shortfall of calories in the body. This will be made good by restricting the calories required by vital organs. So if you keep running for hours we may die in few seconds. But there are defence mechanisms in the body which ensure that we do not run that long which can kill us.Walking for 5 minutes every hour (Around 10 times in a day) will burn 5x5x10 = 250 calories in a day.Resting Metabolic Rate was 2500/1440 x 50 = 87 calories.Net Calorie loss is 250 - 87 = 163.This is less than 7% of average calories that are consumed by a person looking to lose weight. This extra burden can be shared by increase in cellular metabolic rate within few days. How do a person feels by walking for such a short period of time.More alert, full of energy etc. This is indicative of increase in Resting Metabolic Rate. That would mean there will be extra calorie burning without an exercise, if that extra burden can be shared by cellular metabolism. So if a person keeps walking he is quite likely to increase his Resting Metabolic Rate. But if a person walks for 1 or 2 hours at a time, the extra calorie burning will be 60 x 5 or 10 = 300 or 600 calories. That will be difficult to shift this extra burden on cellular metabolism. So the body will save some calories meant for vital organs. That will cause deterioration of vital organs.Walking 2 to 5 minutes every hours means sure weight loss. The chances of regaining this lost weight will also be minimum because there is increasing in Resting Metabolic Rate. So even if you stop walking you will not gain any weight.
