Am I correct in thinking that the year 5000 B.C. is roughly 7000 years ago as opposed to 5000 years ago. I'm having a debate with someone who think 5000 B.C. is 5000 years ago. Shouldn't it be 5000 years plus a zero year plus the year we're in... so like 7009 years ago? Can someone please verify if I'm correct and give me some ammo to tell this person why they are wrong... or let me know if I'm wrong and why? Thanks!
