How Many Years Of Studying Does It Need To Become A Psyciatric Industrial-organizational

Industrial Organizational Psychology or Occupational Therapy?

I'm currently trying to decide between which one of these to study in grad school. I'm currently studying psychology as an undergrad. I have interest towards both.

I want to know with a MASTERS degree (not phd), which job has a better salary (in NYC, that's where I live) and what's the entry level salary. Also, what the salary growth is like.

I like both, but I have more preference to the choice with more money.

Thanks.

What is the difference between Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior?

Industrial/Organizational psychologist study some of the same things as Organizational behavior, but there is a difference. They both study issues related to organizational behavior like job satisfaction, leadership theories, and work motivation (the "O" part), but I/O psychologists study issues related to work that are also very specific like how to build a test that will select the best person for the job, and how to train people for a job. These areas (the "I" part) draw from psychological topics like personality, research and intelligence testing, and from learning theories (Skinner and Bandura).

Students taking a business degree typically take OB, while students majoring in psychology typically take I/O. That's because the business students haven't taken any courses in intelligence testing or human learning.

Hope this helps!
