How Much Could I Get For This At A Jewelry Shop

Do you get a lot of money when you pawn your jewelry at a pawn shop?

Not really.
My sister wanted to do the same with her jewelry but decided to send it into cash4gold. She got a check in the mail a few days later for almost $300. She sent in rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Pawn shops try to rip you off so they can make bank on your loss.

How much is my 10k gold jewelry worth at a pawn shop?

Hi Sarah,

Pawn shops pay by the weight of the gold. 10Kt gold weighs less than 14Kt so you will get much less. You cannot even guage it by what it cost when it was new.... Pawn shops don't go by that. For a necklace that is 10Kt they might give you $12.00.. it is almost nothing. You will not get a good deal when selling to the pawn shop. You would do better by Pawning it to them. That means making a loan. They might give you a little more money that way.

Hope it helps.

Selling jewelry to a pawn shop...?

I wouldn't sell to a pawn shop. Why not take it to a jewelry store? I sold my no longer used jewelry especially gold to a jewelry shop and got good price for it especially with gold price so high now. Don't just accept the first price either. Take your jewelry to several jewelry shops and ask them to give you price. There're plenty of these shops around. They'll even put a sign "we buy gold" in front of their shops. They'll test your gold with their gold testing kit (if your gold is not engraved with the number of K inside) to ensure the purity is correct, and give you price based on that. The price difference from one to another can be like $100 or more. Also one shop may tell you the weight of your jewelry is only 4 oz while another might tell you it's 6 oz. That's why you have to take it to several places to ensure you get the best price. I took mine to 3 shops before I felt comfortable with one of them.

How much is my jewelry worth in a pawn shop?

My family is in a very rough spot. I have three dollars and I'm the richest person in my house right now. My mom is getting paid in a couple weeks but we're out of food and toilet paper and my sister is in sports and it costs a lot of money to go to my school so I am going to the pawn shop soon to sell anything I can that's worth a dollar. I have two sterling silver bracelets and a silver heart pendant, a VERY old dollar coin, an eight karat golden bracelet with 14 small diamonds [I believe they're real but I will get them looked at] across the top, a silver ring with a small ruby, a golden pendant with a strange stone that I don't know what it is called [it looks similar to the blue scales of a rainbow fish], and a silver necklace with a rectangle pendant that has six square stones, the top left, middle right, and bottom left are all aquamarine I think, and the others are glittery stones, one white, one slightly teal, and one blue, I don't know if they are real stones but the Aquamarines definitely are. If that is not worth enough put together, I am willing to sell my great grandmothers golden wedding ring with twenty diamonds elegantly placed at the top and my grandmothers amethyst necklace [the amethyst is slightly smaller than a ball you would get from a vending machine]. How much are these items worth? I want to know so that I don't get tricked out of my money because all of these Items are very special to me. I am only doing this for my family. :(

How much will 14k gold jewelry cost at a pawn shop?

I'm looking to get a 14k gold rope necklace about 2.5mm wide and that will weigh about 8.5-12 grams. Also, a 14k gold pendant about an inch long or so and inch wide or so, and about 5.5-10 grams. I looked up online that 14k gold costs about 23.77$ per gram. I called a pawnshop and they said they charge "10 over melt as standard" but my friend said most pawnshops try to get 300%. Which one is it? If they charge that much i'd be better off buying brand new 14k online from ebay!

I was looking to spend for what i said above^ about $660 out the door at a pawnshop for about 21 grams of 14k gold ( necklace and pendant). Do you think i will be able to get that price if i look around? Yes i know, every place is different, and you can't tell me for sure. But, just guess.

Is it good to buy jewelry from local shops or branded shops like tanishq?

When anyone talks about jewelry, I recommend them to go for branded shops only as they can get the belief of getting the pure quality gold or diamond jewelry at a minimal cost. As you know Tanishq is a popular brand and shopping from here could help you to get the belief of getting trusted product. Most of the people use to rent a jewelry these days as they find it beneficial as it fulfills their requirements at the time of need. It’s quite easy then to move to a local store or a branded one to find an expensive jewelry at the instant. Well, many of the rental classified sites are providing he info regarding rental jewelries from where one can get the finest one as per their requirement. You can try Rent2cash when you find difficult in purchasing a jewelry which is too expensive for you.

How do small jewelry shops get enough business to stay open?

Small jewelry shops that have been around for a long time tell you a few things:They create and/or sell objects that have lasting value.Their craftsmanship is solid. They have built a loyal clientele that comes back for more, year after year. They have built their business using traditional marketing methods, and word of mouth.I can think of a small jewelry shop in Tysons Corner, VA, that has been around for a long time. They’re off the main drag of material goods in that area.My mother has been a loyal customer for as long as we’ve lived in the US, so over 20 years. I know she heard about them from a friend, and she refers people there whenever they’re looking for a reputable jeweler.I imagine that these things can sustain a small jewelry shop, and one that wants to stick around will continue to try to build its reputation in the area so that it is able to last.

Do I have to be 18 to buy body jewelry at tattoo shops?

I've had a nose screw in for the past six months and I'm ready to change it out. Can I go to a tattoo or piercing shop and buy a new ring, or do I have to be 18 years old to purchase it? I'm not getting anything pierced, I just want to replace the nose ring I have. And how much do nose hoops usually cost?

Will any jewelry store resize a ring?

almost any store that sells jewelry will be able to do it, though not all will be able to do it on sight or same day. usually the ones that do it on sight have a person that specifially does that and is in there on certain days. if they ship it out you may be looking at anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks (though if its 3 weeks theyre lousy). cost will vary a lot, some of the yuppier jewelers, IF you didnt buy the ring from them, may charge near $100 while somewhere u got the ring at should do it for free. my wife and i used Fred Meyer Jewelers, though we got the ring somewhere else. Fred Meyer charged roughly $30 in my neck of the woods (WA state US) and took a few days if i recall right. hope this helps.

How much could you get at a pawn shop?

As a general rule pawn shops want a 800% mark up, so they'll give you at most 1/8th of what they think they can get for the item. The value of your item depreciated with age and wear, so the value to buy new is not the same as its current value. How much a pawn shop thinks they can get for an item will vary from shop to shop and even between assistants in the shop. The only way to know for sure is to go in and ask.
