How Much Does It Hurt To Have Your Belly Button Pierced

Does it hurt to get your belly button pierced??

i got mines done when i was 18. the process is fairly simple. you go in and the man sits you down. he draws two dots on you sketching where the piercing will be. they usually lay you down or have u stand up and they use a long piercing needle to pierce through the skin. afterwards the ring is put in and antibiotic is applied. it doesn't hurt when the piercing first happens...it just feels sorta odd. to me though it hurt after it got done. it wasn't serious wrenching pain or anything but it definitely felt like someone had cut through a part of my belly button. it hurt for about two days. and everytime it would get caught on my shirt or anything touched it it would still hurt. i waited about a month to chnage rings which hurt also. my piercing ended up getting infected not too long after ( which happens very often with belly button piercings). that probably hurt the worst. it often becomes sore and fills with pus. it's very disgusting. i cleaned it everyday but still don't know what caused it. the answer is yes it does hurt. it is a piece of metal being stuck onto your body! i got a tattoo on my back this year which hurt less. in fact didn't hurt at all. but be aware that if u get it done, get it done somewhere well known and sanitary. and clean it well each day with rubbing alcohol. avoid touching it and spreading germs to it with your fingers. and my personal tip wait at least two to three months b4 changing the ring. it helps with avoiding an infection. also make sure the ring u wear is safe for you, certain people are allergic to various metals. good luck.

How bad does it hurt to get your belly button pierced?

for me...it hurt really bad. I could feel the needle slowly going through my skin and making a hole in it. It felt sickk. But i couldn't see anything cuz i was laying down and kind of bent back a little in the chair thingy. It hurt after it was done too, all night long. It was so sore....it hurt getting in the car. But it was totally worth it. I absolutley love my belly piercing. It's been like 3 months and i just changed my ring into a cute dangly one =) The piercer told me to wait at least 6 months to a year until i can change it or go into a swimming pool or hot tub. I changed mine after 3 months but that's only because mine healed early. I recommend getting it pierced. It probably won't hurt you that bad...i'm just a baby. lol. It doesn't hurt like soo bad that you have to cry or scream or anything....it's not thatt bad.

First. They pinch your belly skin around the belly button with this thing... and then they take the needle, it's not like regular needle, it's thicker. And they make the hole with the needle, while still pinching your skin with the other thing. Then they take the ring and put it through. And they take the needle out after the ring is in and then screw it on.

You have to clean it twice a day, every day. Alllllot of people get it infected. I didn't. Mine healed soo well because i cleaned it with Provon and nothing else twice a day. It hurts to touch it for like the first week but you MUST move it around when you're cleaning at least 7 times through each cleaning process. You have to move the ring up and down slowly, if you don't, it can get stuck to your body. I'm not kidding, it happened to me. Also. Do not touch it EVER. don't let anybody touch it EVER. You can only touch it when you are cleaning it with antibactarial ( i highly recommend Provon) Wash your hands with it first and then clean the belly button area and jewerly with it and water. The piercer will give you instructions on how to do it and stuff.Good luckk!!!!!!!!! Don't be scared. I was soooo scared. But i'm so glad i did it.

Does getting your belly-button repierced hurt?

I had my bellybutton repierced and it was fine, but my friend had a scar on hers and she got hers redone and she was really sick and nearly fainted, i think mine went through the same hole as the first time but my friend had to have a whole new piercing through her scar tissue, she also had a really bad infection after that and now cant have one!!! I think they have a special tool for going through the same hole and will be able to tell you if you can do that otherwise i wouldnt bother!! sorry - i hope that helps!!!!

Does getting your belly button pierced hurt? And long term, does it end up looking really gross, scarred, or saggy?

Getting piercings will almost always hurt, but I would compare a belly button piercing to a standard lobe piercing (except less painful since you're not using a piercing gun). The healing process is where most of the pain comes from. But, as long as you clean your piercing properly and never touch it with dirty hands, it should heal very nicely!I can’t speak well when it comes to long term, because I’ve only had mine done for two years. But, my mom had her’s pierced for at least 20 years and it never looked saggy or gross. The only reason she took it out is because she simply didn’t want the piercing anymore. There is no visible scarring.I’m not sure if this is the kind of scarring you're worried about, but my belly button did get infected and left a small but hardly noticeable scar. You wouldn't be able to see it if you weren't looking for it. Essentially, scarring should not be an issue as long as you take care of your piercing! Although if you do find that your belly button is infected, or believe it is, to a doctor (or a piercer, I went to a doctor) for their opinion and antibiotics if you need them.I’m not sure if this would make the piercing look saggy later in life, but most piercers don't recommend piercing your belly button while you're a minor; as your body is still developing which could affect the piercing. I recommend googling this as I’m trying to remember what I was told three years ago, haha.I hope this helped!

If your fat and you get your belly button pierced, does it hurt more, get infected more or anything?

Actually, the less muscle, the less it'll hurt. It hurts a lot more to pierce muscle than fat. It shouldn't get infected more unless the skin around your piercing overlaps and can trap bacteria. Just make sure that you follow all the directions given to you by the piercer. Do not use any type of cotton to clean the piercing, use the correct soaps, and do sea salt soaks about twice a week.

Will it hurt to get my belly button re-pierced?

I had mine done two different times too-the first time, the guy didn't get enough skin up,& it didn't look right,& so I let it close & had it re done.I'll be honest,I did think it hurt more the second time-I imagine w/the scarring from your old one,the skin's probably tougher than it was before. But it's not going to be such a huge difference that it should deter you-either way,it'll be over with soon enough,so you only have to put up with the pain for a second or two.I'm not sure why you would want to do it yourself-if you suspect that your previous problems were on account of anything the piercer did & you're apprehensive about it,I'd just find another piercer, ask around or look for reviews on places in or around your area,or many places have a facebook page where you can see what customers are saying. But even if you ordered a piercing needle, clamps,& any other equipment you'd need,it'd probably still not be quite as sterile doing it yourself even w/a new needle & sterile equipment, plus,no matter how high of a threshold for pain you have,it's not quite as easy to do it to yourself as you may think-even if you grit your teeth & tried to just do it & get it over with,it'd still probably be a much slower process than if a piercer did it-they're trained to do this, have more experience & surer hands,& they're not feeling it,so they do it & it's over with in a second.Plus,it'd be even more difficult doing it to yourself,I'd imagine, with the scar tissue from the last time. Not to mention you'd be at a weird angle-even if you did it in front of a mirror, that might not help because everything's backwards in a mirror. So it's probably going to save you from alot of unnecessary pain & potential complications if you go to a pro.

How bad do belly button piercings hurt?

i have quite a low pain tolerance, but id say the most pain i had during the belly button piercing was about a 7/10 which isnt actually that bad!
they put the clamp on first to see where the piercing needs to be and hold the skin in place, that just like a strong pinch but it doesnt hurt, just a little uncomfortable
when they put the needle in, thats a very strong sore feeling, and i could feel the area around my belly button get hot, it took away my breath when the needle went in and i clenched my fists, but in all honesty ive had worse pains, my braces hurt more tbh!
afterwards its quite tender and sore, i couldnt bend down but that lasts for a couple of days, after that its just a little bit sore, like any other piercing really:) x

Does it hurt to get your belly button pierced a second time?

it will hurt a little bit it won't be like the first time you got it done cause they are going to pierce it on scar tissue! but honestly if it got infected the first time why get it pierced again cause it might happen the same thing cause honestly navels are the hardest piercing to heal! it just depends on your body as well! i mean don't be suprized if it gets infected the second time as well
