It depends on your bank. Some banks show pending transactions on a seperate view, all you have to do is tell paypal how much they deposited or withdrew- typical type small amounts. So if you bank allows you to see the realtime pendig charges/credits- then it would be immediate. If your online bank statement doesn't show it, you can call your bank and they can see any pending charges. I did this with Bank Of America before, when I knew something was coming through. they have a pending screen and paypal will send the request immediately just like you were making a purchase at a gas station. It "pings" you account real time but won't show as a completed transaction for 2-3 days depending on your bank, so call them up and find out now, why wait? And yes weekends do make a difference as some financial institutions have system updates performed late Sunday night- to have data refreshed for Monday morning.
