Due to the overhead a tattoo shop takes on they always have a shop minimum.This means that even to do your Line (literally a black line) on your forearm will cost at least the shop minimum. Although the tattoo takes all but 30 seconds and no redrawing of artwork, they still have to run the gun, use ink then throw the rest out, use a pair of gloves, use a needle, then discard, wrap you up, after applying ointment, etc. etc.All these accoutrements are not free for the shop.Depending on the shop, location and artists that work there a minimum could be anywhere from $40 to over $100.Suggested - max out your tattoo for the amount of money you spend.Usually once you get one you get another and another….

However, this depends on the area, how reputable the shop is, and how good the artists are. If you go to a place and there is no studio fee or it is very small like 20$ I would run away and find a decent place. I would say anywhere from 50-70 dollars. I had 4 small stars done, with multiple color for 50$ and that was at a decent studio. Talk to your artist they can give you the most accurate price.

How much does a small tattoo touch up cost?
Just got a pretty large chest panel tattoo done. Its healed but I noticed 4 gaps along the outline that have just disapeared. Either i accidently scratched them off, it didnt heal right or something. Anyways they are VERY small gaps, but its really bugging me. How much would it cost to touch up about 1 inch of tattoo outline total? Like i said, it is barely noticeable but its bothering me and I would like these lines filled if possible. I would go back to the original artist but I got it done out of state and it would be impossible to travel back to get the touch up for free.

You should pick a reputable artist and talk over prices with them and tell them your price range. If you are going to get simple black and white lettering it should take no more than an hour at tops. If you're planning on getting fancy with it and coloring it might take a bit longer. Some artists work faster than others so be sure to check up some info on who is doing your tattoo. Ask around to people that have work done by them. Be ready to expect some real pain! It took a lot out of me. It also depends on how intricate you would like a small tattoo. If so, it will take more time as well.Don’t ask the tattoo guy how much it would cost as that is the number one thing artists hate. Instead ask how long would it take and if he charges by the hour or a flat fee. Then you can ask him how long it would take and for the flat fee now is a good time to ask.
