What is the value of a Mexican 500 peso coin?

Hi,500 Mexican pesos coin is no longer in circulation (since 1992). In that year the Mexican Pesos suffered a devaluation and the nuevos pesos mexicanos were introduced. This new pesos had 3 zeros removed. In other words 1000 old pesos converted into 1 new peso. So this coin was converted into a 50 cents of current money. 50 cents of current Mexican pesos are equivalent to almost nothing un US Dollars. Less than one american cent. I think you are probably asking for the actual value of this out-of-circulation coin in an antique shop. And the bad news la that there are still several of this coins in Mexican houses. They are not as old (25 years) I have some from as far as the 50's and they are still worth nothing.I hope I answered your question.500 pesos of the new Mexican current version is now a bill not coin and it is around 28 USD and it looks like this.

I have a paper 5000 Cinco Mil Pesos from Banco De Mexico 1947 date, PAGARA, UN MIL PESOS. How much is it worth?

I know exactly what you can buy for $500 pesos in (Puerto Vallarta) México!(Just to be clear, $500 pesos is about 25 USD.)Two tickets for our VIP movie theater (leather recliners, waiters,) plus a large popcorn and two sodas.Or if you want to invite your friends, you could bring 14 of your closest fríends to a different movie theater.Or a roundway trip anywhere inside of Puerto Vallarta in a taxi. (Depending on how far you're going, you might have change left over.)Anywhere from 15-25 beers.Somewhere between 20 and 55 tacos, depending on size and quality. (The taco stand right by my house has amazing 9 peso tacos. For less than 4 USD I can eat until I'm full, as well as buy a drink!)A cheap boogie board for going in the ocean and catching some waves.About 18 pounds of avacadoes, for all of your guacamole needs.500 pieces of chicle (gum) that the little boy is selling at the downtown plaza. Two great meals from a VERY nice restaurant (you'll need a bit extra for drinks and tips.)Twelve pairs of cheap earbuds from Steren, our RadioShack equivalent. (but seriously don't do that, they are VERY low quality.)Anywhere from 10 and 25 cheesy tourist shirts. (Again, please don't do that, unless you want to give them as gifts to people you don't really like.)20 liters (or quarts) of Jamaica, (pronounced Ha-MY-Ka.) If you've never tried it, you must. It's a delicious red drink made with Hibiscus leaves. You could also pay me for five weeks of Spanish classes! :p

In mexico avocados are 48 pesos per kilogram what is the cost, in cents, of an avocado that weighs 0.41lb if t?

(dollars / peso) * (pesos / kg) * (kg / lb) = dollars / lb
1/13 * 48 / 2.2 = $1.68 / lb

1.68 * .41 = $0.68 = 69 cents (good price, I paid $1 for one today)

Step by step version:

48 pesos / 13 = $3.69 / kg
3.69 / 2.2 = $1.68 / lb
1.68 * .41 = 69 cents.

How much cash (in pesos) should two people take for a week in Cancun?

Impossible to answer. We have no idea what you might be interested in doing while there. Assuming you’ve already gotten your flight and hotel, the next question is is your hotel an all-inclusive resort? This will have a TREMENDOUS affect on how much you need. If you commit to eating and drinking mostly at your resort - and you can; many resorts have a tremendous number of amenities that make it simple to really not leave the resort - then your expenses will be minimal. However, it’s not likely that you’ll stay and only eat and drink in your resort. It’s Cancun…While Mexico in general is a less expensive place to exist than the US, Cancun is still a resort city. Maybe it’s not as expensive as Vegas, but it’s not cheap. And if you decide to day trip to a Mayan ruin or Xcaret or some similar place, plan on extra money for those too.The exchange rate is currently about 19 pesos to a dollar. Your dollar has a greater power than the peso and they do accept US dollars almost everywhere. However, due to the way the exchange works, you’re better off purchasing goods with pesos. Services in the hotels are similar either way, but most other services and goods are better in pesos. Many establishments will round your dollar off - and up, which is the reason to pay in pesos.Determining what you plan on doing and all other expenses will help you decide what to bring.

What is the value of a 1988 1000 Peso coin in US dollars?

Nothing much unless a particular coin has some weird or interesting provenance (i.e. it is an artifact with some direct and proven connection to a historical event or celebrity). In the early 90’s the Mexican government rebooted its currency and stripped 3 zeros from the old peso, launching a new peso, which is still the official currency of the nation today. So the old coins and bank notes lost their nominal value within a year or two. The 1000 peso coins were issued from 1988 till 1992 and are made of bronze, which isn’t a particularly expensive alloy considering its size of about a US half dollar coin. Not only that but in the 80’s Mexico’s government was minting new money like crazy to keep up with the out-of-control inflation back then; by its final year in 1992, 1000 peso coins were worth about 35 US cents at the then current exchange rates. This means that it minted a huuuuge quantity of those 1000 pesos coins from the 80’s and 90’s, so it’s not so hard to find those in bazaars and such, which of course ruins its value as a collector’s item.Currently you may buy them in bulk online in Mexico at about the equivalent of a couple of US dollars each depending on the seller.
