How long does it take to charge a motorcycle battery with a trickle charger?

Fully charging a motorcycle battery with a trickle charger will take anywhere from 12 to 20 hours depending on the battery and charger quality/type.However, if you’re battery is “dead” or “impaired” it won’t hold its charge whatever the time you spend charging it. If this the case then you will need to fully recondition the battery, which can be done with items most people have in their household.I’ve reconditioned batteries for cars, motorcycles, boats, power tools and all sorts of electronic equipment without running into much trouble. I’ve written an article explaining my experience with batteries to help others do the same, you can check it out here if you like:How to bring dead batteries back to lifeHope this helps!

What would be the best first time motorcycle for a woman?

If you like cruisers, start by walking into dealerships and trying a few on for size. You are the only one who can determine how you will use the bike. The only 250 I can recommend to anybody is the 250 ninja, because of its hotter top end and 6 speed tranny it is actually capable of getting out of its own way. Don't let a sales person talk you into anything smaller than a 500cc cruiser. They are low, easily pushed around and rideable.

What do you intend on doing a year from now on the bike? do you want to travel far and near? OR do you just want a bike to run small errands on and take day trips. The reason why I ask-the 125cc and 250cc cruisers are great for speeds up to about 45mph. They top out around 60-65mph but that really strains the engine. The 250 and 500cc ninjas are quite capable of 90 plus mph all day long. The 500 Vulcan, the 600VLX , and the 750 Shadow as well as the 800 Vulusa are all good cruiser style bikes.

The 500 Vulcan is a small, narrow low to the ground bike. Go to dealerships and try each out, then decide. You need to look for -Can you touch the ground comfortably-you need to put at least one foot down at a stop. can you comfortably reach the controls on the handlebars? Is the seat comfy? Can you get accessories-saddlebags, windshield for the bike?

What is the best motorcyle for a beginner?

Do you have any experience riding a motorcycle? I know several people who have purchased motorcycles and then decided that they didn't really enjoy riding, and ended up with their bikes just sitting and gathering dust.

I'd recommend before you buy a motorcycle, you should take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) beginner riders course. Spending a little bit of time learning to ride properly (safely) can help you decide if it's something you really want to do, and you will be a more knowledgable buyer when the time comes for your own motorcycle.

In many states, the MSF course, or something similar is required before you can get a motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license. You can find more info on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and find a class near you at this web site...

How corrupt is Sharad Pawar?

Let me admit, this is a wonderful question to answer and I am going to relish it.First of all lets put a glance at three major and prominent players from the house of the Pawar Dynasty.1.Mr.Sharadchandra Pawar2.Mr.Ajit Pawar3.Smt.Supriya SuleFollowing are the details of assets the above mentioned players have revealed as part of affidavit before the election commission of India in year 2014.Mr.Sharadchandra Pawar:Rs 32,06,26,677 ie ~32 Crore+ (here is the link Pawar Sharadchandra Govindrao(Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)):(MAHARASHTRA))Mr.Ajit Pawar:Rs 38,83,27,867~38 Crore+(here is the link Ajit Anantrao Pawar(Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)):Constituency- BARAMATI(PUNE))Smt.Supriya Sule:Rs 1,13,90,90,851 ie ~113 crore+ (here is the link Supriya Sule(Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)):Constituency- BARAMATI(MAHARASHTRA))Net wealth=Rs 183 CroreNow that been said, lets dig out the corruption.Lets take a look at the affidavits filed in year 2009.Mr.Sharadchandra Pawar: Rs 2,10,00,000 ~@2 Crore ( this is the link to his affidavit Page on 23.150.75) Please note that I haven't included the wealth on his wife's name.Mr.Ajit Pawar: Rs 10,78,38,032 ie ~10 crore+(Here is the link Ajit Ananthrao Pawar)  Smt.Supriya Sule: Rs 51,53,63,663~51 Crore+ (here is the link SUPRIYA SULE(Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)):Constituency- Baramati(MAHARASHTRA))Net worth:Rs 62 CroreWhich means there is 195% increase in the wealth of the clan.Where does this wealth come from is a moot point (pun intended as we all know it) but the interesting fact is that this is just the tip of iceberg. Remember that I haven't included the wealth owned by their immediate relatives for example the wealth owned by wife of Sharad Pawar, wife of Ajit Pawar, husband of Supriya Sule etc. Had I included those figures to the above figures the entire sum of money would be astronomical. As I have said earlier that this is just the revealed which is visible to the naked eye, there is definitely lot buried down the earth.

Which headlights are the best for a motorcycle: halogen, HID (Xenon), or LED?

I own TVS Jupiter as well and was absolutely not satisfied with the default setup of 35/35w Halogen. Instead of ‘illuminating’ the road these bulbs just highlight the road. So I started experimenting with the headlight.A Better Halogen :I started with the easiest setup, replacing the 35W stock bulb (Phoenix) with a better one, OSRAM Silver Star 35w/35w . It did make recognizable difference and was a little improvement (~10–15%).Higher Wattage Halogen :I took it to the next level when I replaced the OSRAM with 55/60w philips CityVision. This made a big difference and I quite liked this setup. Some issues with this approach were that the bulb used to get dim at low RPMs and achieved its full brightness on revving up the engine. The high power requirement also caused bulbs inside Dashboard and the pilot lamps to get dimmer than usual. I suspect that I was stretching the generating limits of the alternator coil.LED :Next I opted for a 20W, 12V DC LED H4 Headlamp from Nao brand based on good reviews. As Jupiter comes with AC Headlight setup I had to rewire a bit. I cut the supply wire from alternator that goes to the light switch and tapped on the 12V (+) orange wire that goes to pass switch. Supplied the light switch with this tapped line. Result was beautiful. There is huge improvement over the stock bulb. This will remain as my permanent setup for Jupiter. I’ve been using this since 3 months and there is no battery drain issue. Unlike HIDs the beam pattern rendered by LED is good and doesn’t glare the approaching vehicle provided that the LED is on Low beam mode. The high beam illuminates the dark road upto very long distances, providing ample confidence. What is the biggest mistake that a big company has made?

A chain of mistakes made by giants leading to the birth of new giants.1. Apple - Steve Jobs gave up executive control of Apple. He gave up executive control on Apple in 1977. Until then Apple was completely owned by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Steve jobs could have been the CEO if he wanted to. But he gave the executive control to Mike Markkula. When Markkula stepped down as CEO, Jobs was ready to be the CEO. The only problem was that it was no longer Steve’s decision – and the board at Apple Inc. wasn’t too keen on hiring a 28-year-old to run the fast-growing company. Later Steve jobs was fired from Apple. The absence of Steve Jobs in the company opened up a wide door for competitors, especially Microsoft.2. Microsoft - Bill Gates did not prioritize search engine development.Microsoft introduced internet to millions of users with their Windows 95 operating system bundled with internet explorer in 1995. But they hadn’t even bothered to develop a search engine of their own ,until Google grabbed the opportunity. In 2006,they launched Windows live search which could not compete Google. In 2009,they finally made a reliable search engine Bing which holds a market share ,next to Google and Yahoo, in search engine market.3. Google - Larry Page missed on a new internet boom, Social networking.Google was so busy in building an ecosystem which made them overlook the gold mine called social networking. It is not a difficult task for Google to rule social networking after creating a successful ecosystem with their innovation. Google gave birth to Facebook by not grabbing the opportunity on social networking.4. Facebook - Mark Zuckerberg missing the opportunity on instant messaging.Enjoying the monopoly on Social networking, they missed out on instant messaging. They made a wonderful Facebook messenger app which would connect people through their Facebook account. But they could have made things lot more easier by connecting people with their mobile numbers. This has been done by Whatsapp and costed Facebook $19 billion dollars.Facebook bought Whatsapp for $19 billion dollars.Biggest companies and their biggest mistakesKiran Kumar

Are Bajaj bikes generally low in durability as opposed to the famed longevity of Hero bikes (especially Splendor) and the famed engineering of Yamaha or Suzuki bikes?

I own a Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi since 2008. Now my bike completed 10 years earlier this month and has clocked over 1,15,000 kms.I am mostly a tourer and have traveled to many places across Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana states in these 10 years including many trips over 1000 kms. So I can definitely answer this question.Bajaj bikes are definitely not known for longetivity that Hero/Honda bikes offer. But if taken care correctly, these bikes can be with you forever. And trust me, maintaining a Bajaj bike is much cheaper than Yamaha or Honda bikes (wont include Hero in this).I took care of my bike as if it were my baby. As with all company’s authorised service centers, even the Bajaj ones are equally bad. So I hooked up with a local mechanic and I do all my bike servicings over his garage only.I have ripped my bike to its full potential for 100s of kms in some trips (talking about 100 + speed) )and even my city commutes are pretty revy in nature. In short, I rode pretty hard and I had to open its engine block more than once. I had to change the chain sprockets multiple times. But the bike always delivered when it mattered and brought me back home, always.Talking about on trip issues, only one major issue that I can recall was that during my ride to Murudeshwar, the rectifier unit gave way and my bike only has electric starter and no kick starter. So for most of my trip, I had to push start my bike which was mild pain in the ass I would say. But hey, this can happen to any bike that has no kick starter. But whenever on a major tour or a long trip, never once I faced any problem related to engine, spark plug, carburetor or any such component that might make me stop my trip and hitch a truck ride back home.So you see, Bajaj bikes are pretty reliable, durable and have long life if you can take proper care.Happy riding!Red Stallion somewhere in Western Ghats.
