Where can I find modern architecture halls or locations in Miami, FL?

Miami happens to be in the midst of a modern architecture explosion, with works of every major established architect/firm either already finished or under advanced construction, plus works from some of the most promising younger architects in the business. Here are some samples:·1000 Museum (1000 Biscayne Boulevard), what would be the last work of recently deceased Zaha Hadid.·111 Lincoln Road Municipal Parking (Miami Beach), by Herzog & de Meuron.·Miami World Center, by local firm Arquitectonica (almost completed).·New World Symphony Hall, by Frank Gehry. I was there for a concert and can say the acoustics are amazing.·Jade Signature, by Herzog & de Meuron.·Glass, by local architect René González.·Grove@Grand Bay, by the Danish firm Big.·Close up of One Ocean South Beach, by Enrique Norten, of the firm Ten Arquitectos. The developer is the firm of Jorge Pérez, more on him in the next picture.·The Perez Art Museum, by Herzog & de Meuron. The "Perez" in the name is from the museum's main benefactor, developer Jorge Peréz (see prior picture). The permanent collection in this museum is still weak, but the exterior, interior, and views from this building are outstanding. As far as local architects and firms, other than the iconic Arquitectonica, I would mention the firm of René Gonzàlez (mentioned above), KZ Architecture, Oppenheim Architect and Design, and Zyscovich Architects.

South Beach….good beach, good restaurants, good nightlife. Very walkable, making a car rental not necessary. If you decide to go off the beach for a few hours, Wynwood would be worth checking out.For a more urban experience, Brickell would be good. More urban, even more walkable, Brickell City Centre Mall and short Uber rides to Wynwood, Little Havana, The Wharf, Coconut Grove, Vizcaya Museum, Perez Art Museum, Frost Science Museum and a game (NBA at AA Arena or MLB at Marlins Park) are all possible.

What can you do on a weekend getaway in Miami besides the beach?

In addition to the great museums, restaurants and high end shopping, we have one of the finest opera companies in the country, we have symphony, and other performing arts. We also have every kind of major sports team represented here; football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer. We have a spectacular zoological park. South Beach is kind of like Greenwich Village with a beach.Miami has grown into a World class metropolitan center, unique in America with fabulous architecture, incredible access to the Everglades, sports fishing and anything else you can think of. I hear at least a half dozen languages spoken every day. We have several outstanding universities that also offer art and sporting events. We have seasonal events like Art Basel, the Food and Wine Festival and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. The Miami Beach Convention Center is under renovation, but will soon be one of the most modern and largest available. It already hosts dozens of trade shows. It’s really endless. My only suggestion is that if you want to attend the theater or some limited showing or concert, check for tickets ahead of time or see what’s playing during your stay here.I have lived here thirty years from a time when there were maybe 4 buildings over 25 stories to a skyline that rivals NYC or Chicago. The speed of change here has been remarkable. All that with a tumbling crime rate.

If I buy a piece of art, can I legally destroy it? What are the different rules in different countries?

In 1995, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei created an artwork, a photographic triptych of himself holding a Han dynasty urn, dropping it and standing over the shattered remnants. The urn was worth some thousand dollars but more importantly, it was a major antiquity made by a Chinese artisan some 2000 years ago, and as such dear to Chinese who saw Ai’s performance as an extremely provocative and offensive act of vandalism rather than a piece of art.Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn, is today perhaps Ai’s most internationally renowned photographic artwork. In 2014, Ai displayed the triptych at the Perez Art Museum in Miami together with an installation entitled “According to What” consisting of other urns which he had ‘treated’ with colours.Shortly after the exhibition opening, local artist Maximo Caminero smashed one of these urns into pieces. Caminero's proclaimed motive – that the museum should be showing local, not global, art – is pretty daft , but he accidentally punched a massive hole in the logic of contemporary art.For the vase that was smashed was actually a Han dynasty urn that Ai Weiwei ‘appropriated’ for his own art by painting on it. But that's not why the urn is valued at $1m or why its destruction became world news. No – it was because it was part of an installation by a famous contemporary artist. It is the Ai Weiwei artwork, not the Han dynasty object, that was being mourned. Perhaps it was not really an antique at all. If a fake, that makes the entire installation more likable, if not, then surely Ai and not Caminero, is the vandal who ruined a whole bunch of antiquities by painting them whimsical colours.
